Do you position the coil with the legs at the bottom or from the top? Saw a YouTube video where one said it had to be positioned the latter way. I have only used the bottom position.

Myself and just about everyone has the legs protruding from the bottom.

I look at other RTAs but none are whispering to me, my Russian 91% are a pleasure in use.

I like Rip provided I take a sedative first, but reviewers don't know any more than any veteran ECFer. In the end, it doesn't matter which way the legs come off. People put them on the bottom because it is easier to wrap around the screw and helps to keep your coil from deforming.
