No. Cal.
Thanks HB and Matt! First I'm gonna tighten up the airflow. Come to think of it, I did that a smidge a while back and that may be why the dry hits are not happening as much. Too funny. Sometimes I try too many fixes and don't remember which one helped the most.hahaha. If not, I'll just build a bit bigger.

Exchanger: this may be out in left field but I thought I would throw it out there. I don't have a nano kit but when I got a Pico, I had great difficulty screwing down the built in chimney on the Pico onto the original. It was suggested here and from C9V to try the other end of the chimney. The threads were more cooperative and all has been well since. Just a thought

Thanks Robinowitz for the suggestion. Actually when I read your post, it immediately occurred to me that my own dry hits might be related to too much air flow - just like you yours .... Put back the airflow, and voila, problem solved (I think.) Apparently when your juice is thick, it needs a bit more help going up into the chimney. Thanks again.

This explanation seemed to help a few others (in my life outside ECF), so I thought I'd share again...yes this soon!

Imagine you have two straws in your mouth...
One goes into a can of soda, and one is just out in the open.
Breathe in through both of them, and you'll get air and soda into your mouth...
Now, pinch the AIR straw, but leave the SODA straw alone. Take a draw. The AIR straw pulled in less air didn't it? But the SODA straw pulled in more soda.
That's because the vacuum in your mouth/lungs was focused more on the SODA straw, as the AIR straw was pinched off.
For the purposes of an RTA with airflow control, it would be like being able to precisely pinch the AIR straw to a certain set degree, to control how much focus the mouth/lung vacuum has on the SODA straw.

So I guess, airflow control should really be looked at as a juice flow control...sure it allows or constricts airflow, but its main effect is on the flow of juice!
Forgot the mention the fact that I thought this was relevant to Exchancer's thick juice dilemma!
It's relevant because it shows the correlation between airflow and juice flow...a simple fix for thicker juice would be a tighter draw!

By golly friends! Just want to report that after tightening up the air hole, I have had zero, zilch, nada dry hits! Thanks again HB. Also, love that straw analogy.

Make that a second success story. Dry hits are gone here as well. Thanks HB, and you too Robinowitz - for reinforcing HB's idea by mentioning dry hits and air flow a couple of posts back.

This whistling sound may not be such a bad thing because it stops me from vaping too much. There have been times when I go for the Kayfun but change my mind when I remember that screetching sound.:grr:

Some quick fixes I've seen:
Chamfering the air intake hole.
Popping out the green rubber grommet under the airflow control screw (on authentics only).
Taking the airflow control screw out altogether.
And (believe this or not) someone rolled up a tiny piece of wax paper and put it into the air intake hole, just to cut the air. Apparently they used just little enough to offset the sound, but it didn't cut off any air intake. I have no live experience with that method, but it sounds mechanically feasible.

I have three Kayfuns, and they are all 3.1 (I think.) None of my center posts look like that ...
This is the base of regular Kayfun, it has a single drilled out screw.

This is the base of a 3.1, it has a bottom drip catcher that can be removed for hybrid use. The 3.1 also has a side spring loaded ball bearing fill hole.

The 510 connection (drip catcher) is not shown in this picture and the part 2h is what I am looking for. If your base is not similar to the one above, then you don't have a 3.1. ;)

Sorry Trol, but I don't have a 3.1. Just want to respond as others have so kindly when I was in need. Bet you've checked the regulars: C9V, Avid, etc. Maybe even the classifieds?

had a minute to check VapeRev, but no go....off to work...

I had checked with quite a few of those, some the shipping was worth more than the post. :)
But many Thanks

Try Fat Daddy Vapes.
Yes, Dennis does have them and I was going to get one there or a drilled one from KayfunMods.

One of the users from the FB group Kayfun Korner is sending me one up from the states out of an old unit he has.

So thanks to all that had a look in their parts box and online, much appreciated.

I posted a link to the page with the exact part he ask for. I can't get any closer but the part is there on the drop down list about 2/3 down. When selected it shows a price of 3.99 if I remember correctly.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Troll, Apparently it didn't post. Here is the link. In the drop down menu choose number 12 I think.
Kayfun Lite Plus & 3.1 Replacement Parts - EVcigarettes.com
Do the Kayfun Lite Plus replacement parts also fit with a regular Kayfun Lite (in my case a clone)? Not that I need any parts quite yet (knock on wood) but who knows when I'll need some replacement post screws or fill screws.

Also, I somehow managed to lose the oring that fits on the fill screw. It seems to seal fine without it. Is this an issue and where would I find another one?
