Kayfun LITE - Part 2

Hey guys, I'm new to the boards, already made a introductory thread, and wanted to introduce myself to the kayfun Lite fam.
I quit cigarettes around 6 months ago. I've vaped on clearomisers for around 4 months, a clearomizer mod for 2 months, and now, finally graduated into my first kayfun Lite V2!

At first, rebuilding was a bit intimidating to me. I spent a week watching youtube videos until I decided to finally pull the trigger and make the purchase.

My current setup. A KFL+V2 sitting on a Cartel Mod. Pie's Caramel flavored, vape with around 0.3g of nicotine.
KFL+V2 1.jpg

My first build ever! I used a 28g, kanthal, wrapped 8 times around the shaft of the q-tip. I didn't have a drill bit, but measured the shaft to be 2mm. I used the ohm/coil calculator and approximated the coil to be around 1.3 ohms. (I need to order a ohm meter.)
KFL+V2 2.jpg

My wick made with just regular old cotton swabs from the local pharmacy. Unbelievably, the markets and pharmacies here don't sell organic, let alone cotton balls! I in the process of ordering a batch of organic cotton balls.
KFL+V2 3.jpg

Finally, here she is, fired up! What a babe :).
KFL+VL2 4.jpg

IN CONCLUSION:
I love the Kayfun Lite Plus V2. It's sturdy, hasn't leaked on me since, and been easy to build even as a beginner. Coming from a clearomizer on a mech-mod, the Kayfun has so much more flavor, and a healthier hit. The vapor production is just the right around the 1.3 ohm mark, I'm sure if I went a couple tenths of an ohm lower, I'd be producing bigger clouds. Excuse me for the long post, but I'm too excited about this thing! :)

Congrats and welcome to the K-Lite thread my fine S. Korean friend. Sounds like you're off to a good start with all your make shift tools and materials. I just measured a q-tip and mine are 2.5mm. Maybe I have Q-tips and you have q-tips. :)

Are you Korean or foreigner living in S. Korea?

Wow! I'm vaping 12mg on my KFL at 1.6 ohms and 9-10 watts and after a few puffs I already get a bit of a dizzy feeling. I've been wondering if 12mg is too much and if I should drop down to 6 so I can keep up the vaping more often without that dizziness. It may be because I went from a poor hitting Protank2 (lots of gurgling and popping issues) to a KFL that has been really solid so far now that I've worked out the leaking issue.

When I quit almost three years ago I was smoking 2.5 packs a day. Almost chain smoking. Started vaping at 18mg and ended up at 12mg. Probably will drop down to 10mg soon.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Hey Bronze,

I'm a Korean-American born and bred in Los Angeles. I moved to Korea 2 years ago and currently working as a marketer for Carhartt. Clearomisers are in right now, but I'm suprised that rebuildables hasn't made the leap out here. Just out of curiosity, I was wondering which clone this was : $26.58 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Style Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - 1:1 clone / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Is this the Ehpro everybody is talking about?

I'm not sure Tun. I'm not a fan of Fastech due, in part, for this reason. They are not always up front with their products. In this case, I cannot tell who makes that one. Perhaps someone can follow up behind me to verify it for you. There are other solid KFL clones too. Hcigar to name another.

Just bought me a Carhartt shirt the other day. Good stuff.

Welcome to the thread and the amazing world of KFL's Tun! Re the air control screw on the bottom: I just remove mine completely, bag em, label em and that's that. I had tried one screwed almost all the way out but it scratched the top of my mod. Some folks might like a tighter draw and leave them in. 'Tis up to you!

Hey Mr dusty, thanks for shooting me that email and concerns. Anyways I'm back and feel so out of touch, need to catch up on things for sure.

Good to see you Diver! Been wondering where you had been. I must tell you that your help on the first thread is why I have enjoyed my KFL so much since late last spring. Your posts about your tinkering helped my learning curve immensely! Great to be able to thank you "in person."

Morning Guys,

I have a nice healthy bubble coming from 1 juice hole on every hit but nothing from the other side.

Is this a sure sign that I have side wicked well and 1 side poorly.

No dry hits though. :)

No, Paul. You're doing just fine. You shouldn't necessarily see a bubble come out of both juice holes.

You did not just compare a Kayfun to a Carto tank..

Just so you will know, some juices taste better in a cart tank than any of the fancy tanks around. 7Leaves ultimate by FA is one. I have tried it in several different tanks, and for me, for that particular juice, the carto wins out. I might feel differently once I learn how to fine tune the kayfun.

I am blown away by how good the Kayfun is although I shouldn't be surprised after reading and watching so many good reviews on it.

I was put off by the height, tite draw and potential for leaks and dry hits and have also been spoilt with the convenience of my Reo for the last 18 months.

Height has been resolved with nano tank and avid vaper cap. ( still holds a respectable amount of juice )
Tite draw resolved with the drilled base air hole and milled centre pin.
Leaks resolved with correct wicking and filling.
Dry hits resolved with Ni200 & TempPro.

Flavour is amongst the best I have experienced and it's only 5mm taller than my Marquis.

No wonder SM have sold so many.

Just to second the motion, I too have removed mine, did the same thing scratched the top of the mid. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't seat correctly and like an idiot kept trying. Welcome to the forum and the Kayfun world, once you get used to it it probably is the best vaping device out there. I also have a Kayfun V4 but have found it to be a bit too "fiddly" although I will keep experimenting with it.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Hey Paul, I hear you all the way around. I see the nice dimensions on Avid's website but don't see the juice capacity on the nano tank. Any ideas? Thanks!

The kayfun video on the C9V site lists 2.5ml for the nano tank.

They do a 22mm dia nano tank and a 23mm dia one.

I am not sure if the internal dia is larger on the 23mm one ? If so the capacity may be slightly more than 2.5ml.

The internal diameters are usually the same...at least from my experience.
