This is why I am liking the 32g. It heats up instantly and my batteries last for more than 24 hrs.
My problem with 28g (Which seems to be the most popular) is the amount of time it takes to heat up.

If you built two coils of the same ohm, one with 28g and one with 30g, the 30g coil will heat up faster. The wire itself has a higher electrical resistance so it will heat faster even though both coils have the same ohm reading.

I tend to use 30g, primarily because it's the easiest to predict the final ohms of a coil before you start the build.

Using a 1/16th inch drill bit and 30g kanthal, each full wrap will be .2 ohms.

I've tried a few different coils on my Kayfun 3.1 and Kayfun Lite and the best, for me has been 28 gauge kanthal and micro coil between 1.2 and 1.5 ohms using cotton.

Tried sub-ohming but it just gets too hot for me, and loses quite a bit of flavor at that point. I've played with Ekowook/Silica but have found cotton works best for my needs.

Welcome and good luck!

*EDIT* Would also say that using a mech with these is fine, but it's been my experience that the vape changes with the voltage drop you will get from any mech. I would certainly recommend a variable voltage/wattage device and figure out your "sweet spot" and keep it there. :)

I have the KFL clone, but its not too different from the original. Right now im running a nanocoil with 26g wire on a cotton cloud. I wrapped it around 28g wire. Its super tiny but the vapor is incredible. Its fires at 0.7 ohms. Best build I've found so far.
Wow, I want to try that. I did a dual super nano coil in my igow at .6 ohm and it rocked! Do you have a pic of your setup by chance? I want my KFL+ to rock the vapor. Thanks man.

I'm usually between 1.2 and 1.6 ohms with either 28 or 30g kanthal, cotton wicking. When I first started building for the kayfun I went higher ohms, around 2, because that's what I was used to from Protanks and iClear 30 heads. I think I built a new coil after every tank, adjusting the resistance down .2 or so until I found my sweet spot. A little away from kayfun, but very similar atty, I build my taifun gt between .6 and 1.0, and that's my all day vape.
