Ran into a problem with my first batch of experiments (luckily only five bottles of five ml each). I marked what was in each bottle using permanent marker on plastic bottles. Epic fail - ended up wiping out the writing with my fingers and now have five mystery bottles.

So I got the bright idea of using the yard sale tags you can buy at Walmarts or most office supply stores. The ones with a brightly colored tag on a looped string. They work great for me - you can write on them and not worry about it rubbing off.

Just wanted to throw the idea out there in case in comes in handy for anyone else.

UNless you have several tobaccos or fruits, lol. I give my juices a hot bath after mixing, so I run into a LOT of problems marking them. I use sticker labels but those can get soggy and come off. If you cover w/ clear tape, it helps but is still not 'sog' proof

+1 Thats the reason I resorted to the rubber band method. I do use labels after steeping.

Personally after giving my DIY creations their hot bath I dry them with a towel and find that a sticker label works great. The large square ones I cut into quarters and find they work better than the small round ones. I'm only using the small round ones now because the wife bought a couple thousand of them when we had a yard sale, so I'm using what I got before I go to buy new.
