I'm going to do my best to counter his points. Spend a few hours a while back writing a few thousand words going down each of his half truths and even blatant lies in a press release. Can't link to it yet, not yet a full member and don't want to be a spammer anyway. I just hate to reiterate my points over and over where ever I go.

I hope the mods will allow me to mention it, i'll understand if they remove this part. But maybe you can find it by searching Bully Banzhaf Bashes Bullies.

I"d be curious to hear what others thought. He's just so outrageous in his claims, he should sue himself for false advertising.

OH, and PS Big Jim!! Way to go my friend. Loved that site, the picture at the top is priceless and as the congressmen said "best way to discredit him is to just let him keep talking" those videos rock.

“He[Obama] has expressed more interest in preventing diseases and promoting health than any previous president. It is not a breath of fresh air. It is a tornado,” said Michael Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest* . “That contrast is breathtaking. This is really a rare opportunity to make progress on so many issues.”
*(I don't know if Banzhaf is "officially" part of CSPI but they work together a lot)
These guys aren't going any were soon. They rightly or wrongly think the political climate is right and this is the time to act. ( I have an opinion but no need to drag politics in to this) In other words they can be taken seriously, get their names in the papers and make a few bucks.

You can read more here but be warned, if you are a big Obama fan, you may find stuff here you don't like.

I hate all the legally ambiguous bs being thrown around in this article.

"Could potentially be exposed" and "ASH's legal notices about the potential liability of facilitating the sale of a product the FDA has determined is "illegal" have caused both PayPal and Amazon.com to disassociate their companies from these products." I love hypothetical statements. A meteor could potentially kill all life on the planet tomorrow!!!

Come on! The reason Amazon and Paypal went running is because they're scared of lawsuits. ASH informed them that they could potentially be sued and that was enough for them. They don't want to be sued, so, better safe than sorry. E-cigarettes are not illegal to sell or to buy in this country, at least, not yet. ASH is acting as if they are, and that is not right. This lawyer sounds like another class action ambulance chaser. I could feel his excitment over the thought of how much money he could make suing the entire industry. Nice... Class actions never reward anyone as much as the lawyers who file them.

Is being an Obama fan the same as being a Flip-Flop fan, an indecisive fan, or a fan of whatever the polls say because there is no real direction? I could be wrong, but I am smart enough to use my signals when I drive somewhere, and before changing lanes, EVERY TIME 200 feet prior. It is called forethought, and planning that most people that yank the steering wheel 2 lanes over with the status symbol gleaming, seems to be lacking as of late.

He is and he's made billions doing it. I think one of the reasons he's against e-cigs is that it's less potential people for his very lucrative lawsuits. Next thing you know he's going to be bad mouthing healthy food saying people can't claim it's healthy so more folks eat at McDonald's and can join in his latest lawsuit against them.

The one thing i'd like to see the FDA release a statement about is his claiming that he is single handedly responsible for the study, that he was literally about to go on TV and "blow the lid" off them not cracking down on electronic cigarettes.

If the FDA is a puppet for a social activist lawyer, we need a new one. Everytime he makes that statement, every American should quake in their boots that their government is broken.

cant e cig users file one against him.. like for conspiring to endangering their health and killing them..

I really like this idea - but doesn't the FDA do this on a routine basis when they deny a terminally ill patient access to an experimental drug?

Of course, we have wrongful death and even wrongful life suits, so what do I know? :?:
