Correct, it is nice for certain things but definately not a necessity.
Jup. First thing I did and was surprised (aka amazed) that there is no mention anywhere about uninstalling it. Which is why I consider it a virus. So it would seem... uninstall kodi. Do a fresh install and start over again.I checked google, and it shows how to install, but not uninstall trakt. from hints I got reading between the lines, your best bet is to uninstall it, then uninstall all the rest, and reinstall them. Don't forget to delete everything from your trakt account before trying to disable it.

OK last time I looked on the Kodi website didn't see it listed.Of course 16.1 is still available. It just won't be further 'tweaked' by Kodi.
Besides, I maintain da original Kodi xx.x install download file on each of my devices.

@oldbroad so you can't use your tv at all unless it is hooked to the internet. Sounds strange to me. Like I was saying mine is really a monitor not a tv at all. If I want to use the apps on it my tablet is hooked to WiFi and I pull the apps up on that then use Chromecast to cast them via BT to my tv then the tv's processor picks them up and runs them from there. I really don't use that feature because I still have my Roku hooked up but all are hooked to the internet by way of LAN. That is all except my Dish DVR which is hooked to the dish and HDMI to tv. If I wanted to use an antenna I would have to by a tuner.
I agree I use it almost constantly. I like being able to look at a movie and see whos in it who wrote and directed and see what others thought of it. I also like to clone other peoples lists so I don't have to do the leg work. I've got a Quentin Tarantino list, Stephen King list, 2016 Academy Awards list plus my own 2 lists.I utilize Trakt a lot. Great for browsing on the PC and then adding stuff to the watch list. A downside of Kody on an Android TV box is you don't get the descriptive blurb, so not conducive to "surfing". I also use Trakt "my progress" to keep up with series.
It is great if you utilize it, a PITA if you don't. It does take a little investment to get value out of it.
