Kay when you get yours I'll give you my phone# and I can kinda walk you through the initial setup. Only thing I'll have to investigate how the standard remote works, I've never even taken mine out of the package so not sure about it but will ask some questions I don't know how the logitech keyboard works either for the same reason. What I did with mine cause I wasn't sure about the airmouse was plug the USB dongle from my wireless keyboard and mouse I use on my computer and used that. Like I said you can get the same airmouse on Amazon but it is not programmed so the on off will work and there is not a user change to make it work but I know you can get by with the standard remote but like I say I'll have to look into it. If you have a keyboard and mouse that hooks with a dongle that will work, there are 2 USB ports on the box it also has BT. What is your internet speed, and are you close enough to your modem to run an ethernet. The box comes with an ethernet cable and and HDMI cable. You do have an open HDMI plug in on your TV right?

Pat...my tv is an HD Smart and I have a "dongle" for my PC mouse but not the keyboard...well actually I have one for the laptop too....and yup i have USB 1,2 and 3 ports and HDMI 1 and 2 ports.

I get nearly nothing with an antennae, even on the roof. I guess that's just for live tv tho. Everything will be available on Kodi the next day?? That's about when I get around to watching things anyways. I can wait a day for free.

I do like to watch football or some bb games the same evening tho.

What part of Pa are you in, r77r7r? I am north of Pittsburgh, in the 'burbs, so I wonder how well an indoor antenna would do me, although The TV Fool says I should pick up about 5 local channels.
Your not the only "dummie"..I'm right there with you on that! my GD had to set up my "smart" phone just the other day.:D And you seem to want all the channels that I want.. we'll get there....
I got you beat. I don't even HAVE a smart phone , just a smart tv and it's smarter than me, apparently...

    Hi Kat :)

About evenly between Philly and Allentown and surrounded by farmland which is surrounded by the Appalachians. Between the mountains and the distances, the "tv fool " says that I might get 2 channels, lol.

That's with an expensive antennae on the roof. They won't even think of running FIOS out here, altho we beg for it.

@oldbroad Kay you never did tell me what kind of internet speed you have or if your modem is close enough to use an ethernet cable. Using your mouse might be helpful but I have to go to the FB page and ask how the standard remote works. There isn't a lot that you need the pointer for or the keyboard during setup. You'll need it more on your computer if you decide to set up Real Debrid or Trakt. They have a video on both of those. Also if you want to put Zen on it is in the More Addons section of their build and takes about 3 min to install. I put it on just so I'd have a spare that was similar to Exodus just in case. They have their own build that they designed and keep updated which is really handy. There are some really cool build available out there but looks ain't everything if they add a whole bunch of crap you don't need or bloatware or they don't keep them updated but some are purdy. This one is functional.

That sucks. I could get maybe 5. Like I say the networks are available to stream for a price but not sure what city they are from, seems like one might possibly be Philly but they are basically network feed. Another thing you need to remember is data caps. Almost every ISP has them. Didn't used to but they found a way to suck more money out of you.

We'd be happy to pay-stream cbs, abc, nbc and fox if thats available?? That's all we really watch. Maybe a couple hours per day.

That's why we'd like to get into this, we pay for much we don't use, even with the cheapest package.

I mostly watch B&W from ME TV :) How can you Not sleep well after watching Andy Griffith :)

Pat, for starters, I'm going slow n easy with this whole thing...all my poor peabrain will tolerate!But...my pc is in a bedroom quite a ways from the tv..I'm gonna be easy on myself and get the airmouse when it's available.

And i ain't messing with Debrid or Trakt...mainly cuz I don't have one blessed idea what the h... they are:D When I finally score a SS I'm just gonna set up the basics...hopefully.... and enjoy that for a while.

Oh..and, is the site for checking the internet speed called OOkla? Hmmm...that doesn't sound right...

OK..I just did the OOKLA speed test...doesn't sound so good.....Download:54.22....

I can get around 7-10 channels, depending on the weather...but they're all garbage!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I'm so confused:facepalm:.........I am going back and reading from the beginning. If I cut the cable...I still have to pay $60 a month for internet...yes high speed but it's only $50 more for 2 dvr's and everything except hbo, showtime and the sorts.

I have a xbox one on one tv and a Rouku on the other. I belong to Netflix and that's it. Any recommendations? I am just starting to figure this out and I am leaning towards the (SS).
O, what does that stand for again? Thanks!

If you're getting 54 download, that's good. I only get 31.46, and I have no problems.

If you did the set-up on that equipment, kodi should be easy. Just have to decide if you want the boxes, or just download the apps.

So where your pc is is where the modem is. These boxes tend to not work very good if they are a long ways from the modem the best is ethernet. You could run into problems trying to WiFi from the bedroom. You've got good enough speed but I've seen quite a few that have problems with Wifi thats why I been asking. 54Mbps is great I only have 39 and it's fine it would be the WiFi that might mess with it a little. What do you other guys think?

I use my computer on WiFi which is fine but streaming on Kodi is another story. IDK that for a fact cause mine is always hooked with ethernet. Roku works fine a smart tv will work fine but I've seen a lot of people that can have problems with WiFi.
I have one of those WiFi thingys in my living room and I believe it runs my pc in the bedroom, right? And also the printer...

And i can use my laptop out in the sunporch.
OK the WiFi thingy you are talking about is your modem right?

Umm... I think so! And my tv is a smart one.
