If I was going to buy one I think, except for the fact that Amazon makes it so if they want to ban Kodi you can't stop it that Amazon Fire box seems like a good price for what you get.

I have to wait for a week or so, till I get paid, but then i'm ordering it.
Just don't forget you still have to do some things when you first get it and if anyway possible hook with ethernet cable. What kind of speed do you have?
Are you going to get the airmouse or a keyboard? One thing nice about the airmouse you get from them is it will shut the unit down. If you get another you will have to use the included remote to turn it off. Also after you go through the first steps of setting it to the size of your tv mine is around 95% you will go to the SS updater and unless you like really hard core porn choose the Family Friendly and the fisrst time you run it you will use the new install I think it is called after that when you run it you use keep my settings. The video will help you along and if you run into any problems go to the FB page and ask. You'll get an answer fast and Manny is the top one there since it is his build in it.
I think I'll get the air mouse. I've been studying a lot of different brands and i know this is more expensive than most...but it seems easier to set up and they have great tech support.
The simpler and lazier is for me!

Yeah you can get almost the same one from Amazon but it will not turn the unit off. I love mine, once you get the hang of it and learn to turn the pointer off it works with Kodi like a regular TV remote. I didn't know how to turn the pointer off but once I got that down I can do nearly everything without using the pointer. Rarely I have to use the pointer but just for a few seconds.
Also order it from elitemodsfl.com a ppenny more then SS but from what I've heard you can usually get a person on the other end when you call tech support or they call you back faster then SS.
Just got done catching up on my TV shows on Exodus last nights Criminal Minds, Code Black, This is Us. It's nice not having to watch commercials or recording it then FF through. All in 1080

Wow I didn't even know Royal Pains was still on. They are going to do one more season. I don't think I have seen season 7 yet. Don't get USA but it was on Netflix or Amazon saw it there. If it was amazon I'm sure they wanted money for the last season till the next one comes out. At least Netflix don't play dat game.
Will let ya know after supper (currently have a 1080 movie on 'pause' ). But at 720 and lower, absolutely! BTW, currently I have no interest in 4K, due to lack of capable hardware/equipment.
Like Gary, plus others, have posted, there are very few shows/movies/video sources that a 'cable cutter' can not view via a $50 device. I'm very pleased wid my Fire Sticks; even considerin' my learnin' curve mental 'investments'!
Very much anticipatin' test drivin' Kodi 17! Wid a quick glance, one fav improvement/aspect was, finally, decent main menu options! Played wid Xonflunence and Aeon skins. What a frustratin' pain in da patooey!

Gary, how long have ya used 17? I've been awaiting fer multiple positive feedbacks prior to evaluating; much like vaping gear. I trust ya more da YT reviews!

Don't feel bad. I didn't get it to work very well on my PC either. The learning curve to set it up was too steep for me. I ended up removing it and getting the box.Yeah..I TRIED to install it on my PC...what a mess! Somehow I wound up with all kinds of Google stuff on my screen this morning, couldn't get in the Hangout...and never did get the Kodi installed correctlyand this morning I had to try to get rid of all the crap... somehow I managed to get in the hangout tho...

they all work just fine. I would guess that the processor is a matter of erudite preferences. Since my knowledge is limited... don't matter.
I went back to the old skin, too, on the computer version. New one doesn't have back arrows. Dumb. Have to hit escape or right-click on keyboard. I am liking how version 17 works overall, though.

Yep I tried it on Netflix and I really couldn't see the diff. On Kodi its just a PITA buffering constantly I really haven't tried any on Kodi if there are any but I have a couple of addons that have 4k sections and it was not good, I heard that 3d is about the same don't know don't have a 3d tv. On Netflix the stream is solid but not that diff then 1080
I've also heard that Kodi Jarvis is not real friendly to set up. SS says once they get it setup to work as smooth as 16.1 with the addons they will bring it out in an update.
