I've had that, but then there will be some trace of them in the kodi user data folder, this time there was still traces of a few, but it was like most had been manually deleted. had to reinstall all the repo's as well. I'm lucky I even remembered all of them.I have had add-ons disappear, and then magically reappear a week or two later.
Exodus is usually all I ever use though. Have found that RD will deactivate on it if it isnt used often enough. The box in my bedroom loses activation, but I dont watch it much.
Should be great. If you got it hooked to internet he will be able to get in it. Your standard remote should work after it is set up and at least start. I don't know what exactly you did with it but tell him you added Sling TV he will probably uninstall that and delete data from Kodi and do a fresh install. Like I say if you got it online he can take it from there. I am catching up on the last season of Orphan Black. It is actually pretty easy to get the initial setup done. You just have to follow the video step by step and not skip any but he will be able to see it from his end. If you got the installer and Kodi installed you might not even need to do that. I've heard several people say stay away from the G Store apps. Once it is set up you will have an app for Netflix and Amazon and USTVnow is an addon that is included in Kodi. Not yet...today or tomorrow, so i'm waiting to do the initial set-up till it gets here...maybe then the whole process will go smoother!
BTW....I OOKLA'd my pc...it's DOWNLOAD:53.17 mps...and the UPLOAD is: 5.78 mps...and the PING is: 8 ms.
Should be good enough?
I could of used my backup but it's got too much clutter and all my gf's anime addons and other crap. his needs to be just Exodus, Bob, zen, specto, salts, Phoenix, and sports devil. Is there an add on that "self refreshes" after x amount of time? I don't have that problem. But there are progs that will do a clean reinstall if yer having a problem.
You might not need it. Some people stream all kinds of copywritten content and their isp's never say anything about it. But it doesn't hurt, and theres also a lot of utility, like the scrapers are able to bring back much more providers since nothing is restricted, switching to a different countries IP to get around geo-blocked or locked content and being able to use RD without paying, plus other stuff I can't think of rn.What kind of a VPN should I use? I wasn't aware of this happening so I think I need one.
Yeah I think he is right. I stream copywritten material almost from the time I get up in the morning till I go to bed at night and never have any problems. I just wonder if it has to do with his location and them keeping a close eye on people that use a lot of data in that area. Good old Homeland security at work. Like Gary said it's not illegal to stream but it is to download and make copies. Plus Comcast from what I've heard can be a PITA with their data caps. That's why I didn't switch over, they won't let you have a business acct in a private home and after you reach the 1TB I've also heard it is like they turn the fawcett way down and soak you for it. Also I don't know is all the stuff we watch copywritten or just the ones that aren't out on DVD yet? If that's the case then most of the stuff I watch is out on DVD except for some of the screeners. I don't watch cams or the ones that have the Chinese subtitles that are embedded. So I don't know about that. What kind of a VPN should I use? I wasn't aware of this happening so I think I need one.
Fiber optic is great, I work from home 3 days a week and I had them increase my speed recently, it cut my upload times by half. If you need it I'd do it. Also the speed vs price ratio is really good compared to other isp I've used.In my area Comcast hasnt rolled out any data caps yet. But its coming, the caps are getting near me.
I have an option. The city provides fiber to businesses (ONLY). I have confirmed they will run it to my house if I were an LLC for example. An LLC would cost me about $150 a year. The downside is that installation cost would be high as the nearest existing fiber on their network is about a half mile away.
I am somewhat connected to the "click" that runs the cities internet. I know I wouldnt have any censorship issues or limits.
seems to work great on my PC... taking a loooong time to get it to work on my Android box.
