My killer is a week or so out but I'm trying to get things ready.

adeline, are you still running cotton in yours instead of silica? If so, how is it holding up?

Also, I wanted to add... Since my initial recoil/rewick (8 days ago), I've been running the same cotton. It's a cotton yarn. I have the ends of the yarn dipping below the cup into the sera wool. Feeds very nicely. I only recently (last night) started seeing dark liquid seep into my tank, so I know it's time to rewick.

I'll pull out the cotton, dry burn, either replace my puff of sera wool or just rinse and reuse. That's the great thing about Sera .. aside from the fact that it's dirt cheap. I ordered a TON of it, not knowing how big the packages were. I have more sera than 10 people could probably use in a lifetime. Then I'll just put a new piece of cotton yarn or something through the coil and vape on!

The Killer has been my main rba since the recoil ... including 2 vape meets, and pretty much constant chain vaping for at least 8hrs/day. I'd say the cotton held up pretty well.

I was just wondering if the top of the killer sticks out pas the tank. I got the killer for my wife and the only tank I have is a cheap dct tank and I had to use my drip tip to make it work. She wants to be able to use her cute pink tip but I need to find a shorter tank.

Ah, yeah then just use the shorter tube. The top of the killer does come out of the top of it so you can use any drip tip. I was tempted to try the longer one but it seems like it's JUST a hair too long.

Vaporbank has them in stock for a good price. Both tubes come with it. It's in the Rebuildable section for some reason.

That's probably what I'll try first then. Where did you get the sera wool from? I don't have any experience with it myself but it sounds dead simple to use and very handy. I may have to grab some.

You can get it from marineandreef.com or drsfostersmith.com ... Get the SMALLEST available package. I'm not kidding, I WAY WAY over-ordered.

I don't let this stuff touch my coil though. That's not something I want to vape. But for sticking under the Killer ceramic, it's absolutely perfect. Others are using it in their Spheroids.

It makes the Killer seem more "carto-like" with the little bit of extra filler material. You only need the smallest bit of it too.

Here's a pic of what I bought. For laughs.... and a very valid size comparison I wish I'd seen before I ordered!!! LOL

EDIT to add .. I did boil this stuff with no problem at all, btw. Boiling it was fun.. actually the drying part was fun. Seeing how absorbent it is. Crazy!

Do you still use a wick? I was just curious. BtW, I have another Killer on the way, a wonderful, fellow member and someone who has become a mentor and friend as well, offered me their extra killer. So I will getting it soon. Thank you so much, YOU know who you are:)

Perfect. Anything to make it more carto-like is a plus in my book.

That made me laugh so hard because I tend to order more than I need as well, and it happens waaaaay too often. I guess I'll just grab 100g of the stuff (this time) -- hopefully I'll have as much fun boiling it as you did. I'm easily entertained. Hahaha

Yeah I use a cotton yarn wick that dips into the sera.

I'm reasonably certain the sera wool is artificial material, and I don't want that touching my coil. So I just take a little piece and put it under the ceramic cup. It doesn't touch my coil at all, just the wick.

Thanks, I will give that a go. I would not worry about the material touching anything that is vapeable. Remember, if its for aquarium use its safe for us. Fish are very delicate creatures. They live in a closed environment and if any thing is in the least bit toxic they would die. The water is their whole world and most importantly their main sorce of respiration. Their gills are much more sensitive than our lungs.

Another important thing , that filter material is a filter but most importantly, it is where a colony of live beneficial bacteria lives and cleans the water. Again these living filters are very very sensitive and if the filter was in any way toxic they would not be able to live and do their work.

Sorry for getting off track, I guess I do love aquariums.

Got my killer today! I've got it in my AGR tank and so far I am loving it. The only frustrating part was that the bottom part was so tight that I had to wrap it and use pliers to loosen it up (where the juice control is). Once I finally got that loose it has been smooth sailing. I'm really glad I ordered this. Thanks for all the tips in this thread, it wouldn't of went so well without them.

Completely off topic, but I've been considering starting an aquarium soon. It's a lot of work that requires a lot of research though, so I can't just jump into it like I want to!
