Reports from across the pond are saying the no res wire isn't really needed and folks are just using .25 kanthel.
I would like to hear about somebody that has actually tried this because I don't believe it. I'd like to though.

I just said I'd tried it. :-/I would like to hear about somebody that has actually tried this because I don't believe it. I'd like to though.

It's in my Killer right now. No NR wire at all.
Well, without NR wire...
Using .15 Kanthal (or lower) is a no-go, gets way too hot too quick. Thinner wire heats up quickly, no surprise. Chain vaping can bring about wire taste.
Using ribbon Kanthal (0.3x0.1 is what I used) still makes the atty quite hot but no more burnt taste.
0.25 Kanthal, no so hot. About average even.
You should use NR wire so that all (well, the vast majority) of the resistance is directly on the wick. Less watt-waste which means lower voltages work better than usual.
I've got NR on order but it hasn't arrived yet so needs must...
I don't wrap anything.
I put one end of the kanthal in a bead, I put an end of silver onto the bead, and crimp.
Repeat on the other side.
I HATE twisting wire. This makes it so I don't have to. I don't have to worry about how long the twists are, and if I can fit it through the tiny holes on the ceramic. Every bit of the wire between the crimps is my coil.
It also keeps me from pulling the coil too low in the ceramic.
But sheesh, it's not mandatory.

Got my Killer set up with an AGR tank. I was advised to fill from the bottom, rather than the little screw filling hole in the top. But filling from the bottom is a pit of a pain. Is it really necessary?
Also, the juice control is hard to adjust. Should it be almost closed, or half way? If I open it too much, it doesn't work. But if closed too much I wonder is the juice actually getting in? Not sure it's getting either, as the juice level is staying the same, but still vaping.
Thanks.
Thanks tmcase. I get it to the opened position but then it doesn't work - no power, no connection. I'd have to close nearly all the way to get the power back, but then I'm not sure if the juice is going in. Might just get a Phiniac. But many members here have their AGR working fine with the killer.
Once you open the juice control, push the connector pin on the 510 adapter in so it makes contact. That should do it.
Just posting to subscribe. I want to come back and read later. Thanks all!
