Round N Round the Mulberry Bush
As long as its built well and has the necessary functioning safeguards for the PV type, I'm in :thumb:
I don't have a problem with a clone as long as it is a good one.
What I think these folks may be seeing is that if you charge a little less, you make a little more overall because more people are buying the product.

My fake vamo v2 has been working great for 2 months now. Also my "fake" Panasonic battery's last me almost 2 days charged with my "fake" nitecore charger. I am happy with that kit, FT does sell alot of crap clearo's. Just got to pick your products carefully.

There is certainly truth in that. Might I add the same goes for any number of US online vendor and B & M's. At least that's my experience.

I only care that my FT Panasonic batteries and nitecore i2 charger is legit.

Actually the batteries are the biggest crap shoot from any number of sources. It's pretty easy to rewrap cells ;)

Never saw a Fasttech Vamo for sale advertised as a KSD

I have an Original Vamo and KSD did NOT make them.

Wonder if a copy of a copy is more wrong than a copy of a copy of an original?

Original Makers?

Yeah, This is where it gets tricky. Rainbow Heaven doesn't own a factory to my knowledge, but they do spec out devices including the Vamo and contract the manufacturing. In my eyes that makes Rainbow Heaven a manufacturer in the same way that Kitchen Aid is a refrigerator manufacturer even though mine wasn't assembled in a plant they own.

Some people would argue that only the factory is the manufacturer, I ain't buyin' that since some of these guys don't own a factory or the machinery/tooling that is used in the manufacturing process.

It's also not unusual in China that once a manufacturing contract has been fulfilled the "original" design is pretty much fair game and depending on demand is used to manufacture and sell additional units under a brand name, Vamo, CE 3, eGo, etc. <== knockoffs, clones, copies, factory over runs, seconds or whatever you want to call them.

I hate to revive a dead or fairly dead thread.. BUT I'm doing a little research..

I hope this may clear up a few of the questions asked in here, if it's already been said - oh well I'm repeating myself..

Anywho:

I've been on the horn with someone inside the KSD factory, and I'm prying a little bit of info..

KSD/Kangside - actually is the original creator for the WHOLE Vamo line, the Kmax & now the e-huge.. I was concerned when I saw the notice as it only specifically says V2 / v3 / kmax..

I'm not going to spill much more of the beans I've uncovered in the last few days at the moment,, BUT,, I will say the FastTech link to them is a pretty interesting one =)

Hmm, random man on the Internet says he has the inside scoop on a biiiigggg secret and creates a post to tell folks that he won't be sharing it.

The hyperbole is strong with this one me thinks.
