I am so sick and tired of not being able to count on getting what you order from China. One of my PV's is a SD. Came with an UltraFire 16340 1000mAh 3.6v bat. So, I figure if I order a couple of 16340 1000mAh bats, I'll be set for awhile. But, NOOOOooooo!!!!!!! I keep forgetting that there is no standardization or quality control out of China. My bad!!

So I get the bats, charge them up, drop them in my SD.... NOTHING!! NADA!!! Zip!!! No Joy!!!! I hold the SD out in front of me with a WTF expression and I feel a little rattle within the device. I pull out the bat and set in on the desk right next to the UltraFire and sure enough it is just a little bit shorter than the UltraFire. WTF!!!!!! Just short enough that the new ones won't make a complete connection.

I'm thinking that I could pull on the spring trying to make it longer, but with my luck I'm afraid of over stretching it or yanking the damn thing out of the SD entirely.

Any suggestions what I can attach to the bottom of the bat to give it that little extra so I can use it? If I had a caliper here at work I'd let you know the exact distance, but again no Joy!

Man, why isn't one battery that is given the same numbers the same as the next?!? Really frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you got a protected battery with the SD, and the others are unprotected. Protected batteries I believe are just a little bit longer.

I could be wrong, of course. But that is my understanding of it.

I think that summed it up nicely, I wish he lived next door, I'd put a wager on that being the issue. That and unprotected batteries are almost always cheaper..making them the more obvious "OMG CLICK NOW" choice when shopping. Many times they just don't say...if they don't say protected or unprotected..assume unprotected.

So today I get another order in....Same voltage, same mAh, Protected this time. And now these batteries are taller than the ones that came with the ScrewDriver. So the ones I get originally are the middle size, the next ones (which someone suggests are unprotected) are shorter, and the nest ones (which are Ultrafire like the originals) are now taller than all of them.

How can something that is labeled the exact same thing and have the same brand name (UltraFire) end up being three different hieghts?

I have a lot of things I would like to call this, but nuts will have to do for now!!!!!!!!!

I put one of those on my refrigerator and literally can't get it off. The only way would be to pry it off with a :Dscrewdriver:D or something but I don't want to scratch it so I just left it there. They are seriously powerful.

they work "magic" with batteries for adjusting the length.. .. they come off easy with smaller things as well because you can slide them off.. a long way to slide with a fridge door.. he he..

and in that wonderful chinese way they cost next to nothing..
