Hot flashes really are miserable. And they never come when you actually need them. Take heart Fudgey. It's kinda like an eyelash in your eye. Feels really nice when it's finally GONE!

Dern it - No Kahlua on hand. Would Rumple Minze (100 proof peppermint schnapps) do the trick, ya think?

I think I have a long way to go :(

Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Apple/Spiced Cider (maybe with a splash of rum! :D); an electric blanket all snuggled in the couch watching Christmas movies! :D

Trade with ya! Hate the cold, the snow! I hope we get some this year :( Our biggest problem is black ice.

I would so prefer snow over the black ice!! We got too much snow last year, I am hoping we don't get as much this winter.

Just thinking about cold makes me cold...my body just doesn't like it...I need to be kept warm and snuggly...and my hands, oh ! I hate it when my hands become cold...

Posting this wrapped in a cuddly blanket with a large cup of hot cocoa.....

And just thinking about all of these warm things warms me up. I can't take it when my hands are cold either. When I was still working, my desk was literally made of granite (our company made headstones) and my boss hated heat (or rather, he hated paying the heating bill). He kept that place cold! The granite burned my wrists and hands because it was soooo cold. I ended up using wrist socks and fingerless gloves in self-defense. Boy am I glad I'm outta there!

My favorite remedy for fighting cold is a blanket that I made out of imitation mink. It looks and feels like mink. When turned upside down so that the fur side is against the skin I could survive a nuclear winter. I've camped in the winter by using it. Apparently it worked well for the cavemen as well - or at least, the same principle.

Oh ... I gotta find a pic of this thing ... BRB

Well - All I could find was a couple of shots of my gliders playing around on it in my bedroom.

I've got a blankie like that too-it's incredible for warmth. The kritters piled on top and a heating pad below help too! Also, those little ceramic heaters help a TON. I got one at walmart four years ago for like 12 bucks on sale and it's still trucking along. Doesn't use too much electricity and keeps the couch area toasty warm while letting you keep the temp down in the rest of the house.

Here's the pup enjoying the blankie

and one of these helps to keep the coffee/tea/cup a soup/hot toddy nice and warm for your hands

Oh my goodness - the baby with its mama! They are beautiful.

Actually, that's daddy Dizzy carrying the joey. Mama Squeezles was busy giving its twin a ride elsewhere. They are sweet little critters but frankly, they are very high maintenance pets if you care for them properly. Had I known what I was getting into, I woulda said "No thanks!".

Awww - your kritters are so cute snuggled up in the blankies. Isn't is amazing how we spoil our fur-kids?

Jewelz..... they're just a bunch of sweet babies! -and I've got a mug warmer too! I love it.

rave, I've heard that about gliders but from what you've told us here before it sounds like they have it made at your house. I can't fault you or Jewelz for allowing your pets access to the fur blankets. I have to come clean! I have one for myself and one for my husband. One of the cats kept commandeering mine, so I bought him one for his "birthday" (estimated) a year or so ago. He loves it, and it's actually washable, which is a plus. The other cat, for some reason, hates them and avoids them like the plague.

What a lucky kitty you have Lisa66! Mine are stuck sharing the blankie with each other and with me. Luckily its like a queen size so there's room enough for all of us.

I don't know how much work gliders are, but I know how much my 4 are. And if you've got it worse rave-god bless ya!

The weatherman just said snow is coming our way here in AZ, so we'll be doing heavy duty snuggling soon...

critters and blankets are the best. I spet yesterday evening snuggled under the beasties and a big old comforter, with warming beverages close by :)

Love the faux fur blankets- i can see why the gliders, kitty, and pup like them (If i had one I'd have to have more than one, cause my beasties wouldn't share)
