Nicotine effects our digestive systems, that might be a factor.

Not trying to sidetrack this thead but besides nicotine there is also chocolate and caffine that effects your digestive system along with milk products. IBS honestly is a pain to deal with and if I stayed away from everything they suggest I would be way misserable... I would still rather get just nicotine from E-cigs than from an analog with the other 3999 ingredients..

Let's not be too hasty to stop using propylene glycol eliquid, those problems Smo mentioned refer to direct application of propylene glycol, not inhaling.

Chances are that you can't inhale more than 2ml per day. Lots will be exhaled and the rest broken down in your body. That's not a lot of pg in the grand scheme of things, you probably eat more than that without noticing.

I'm not convinced that inhaling a couple of ml would cause this particular problem. The thing to do would be to use glycerine for a while until everything is clear and stable and then try pg again.

o_O

Spikey noticed those 2ml messing with her body as soon as she got to know the symptoms, and made the correlation, so it looks like they are enough to trigger something.

Knowing (or not, tbh) how painful and discomforting are this kind of problems to the girls, if VG solves, i see no reason to go back to PG, and maybe if her friend starts avoiding PG in foods, creams n stuff she can drop her "girly issues rate" by a notch, who knows (exaggerating here).

And what i pasted refers to direct application since there are very few studies on inhaling PG, and far back in time too.

Not arguing against ya for the sake of it Kate, just contributing. Only  4 the :nun: !

Kate, I got it from reading about those others getting it.

Yeast has no rime or reason, gain 5 pounds and you have yeast. Lose 5 pounds and you got yeast. Carbohydrates causse more yeast than anything else, yeaties just love bread, cake, corn, peas, fudge, anything with natural sugar or spoon sugar. Yeasties run wild when your emotions get wild also. There are thousand reason for you to have yeasties.

What about the glycerine? Isn't it sweeter and breaks down as glucose? I used to have Candidas/thrush problems years ago, because Drs. didn't know better back then and had me on antibiotics for 10yrs. during 5 sinus surgeries for polyps that kept growing back in sinus' and throat. It took years to even get back to a partially healthy life, because the Candidas was so bad and the antibiotics had greatly compromised my immune system.

All this to say I have NOT had any yeast issues in several years, did fine the first month vaping. UNTIL I started cutting the regular pg nic. liquid in half with glycerine. Now I believe I have thrush in mouth/throat and ears. Also worst pimples on face ever!! and they are mostly on lower face near mouth. Along with shortness of breath and heaviness in chest. I'm thinking it's either an allergic reaction to glycerine OR it's the glycerine breaking down as glucose, triggering the yeast issues. So you may be on to something here, just not convinced it's the PG.

Anyone else think it may be the glycerine?

I am allergic to PG.. but did not have symptoms until about 3 weeks into vaping. It may be your reaction to PG.. just delayed. Now most will tell you that PG causes pimples and such... but not VG. Keep in mind.. even VG has some PG in it cause most flavorings use PG and most PG juice contains some VG for extra vapor production. So... will be hard to conclude.

I hate to tell you guy/men that you got yeasties also, cuse everyone has yeasties. Your born with them. It is just when they run amuck that we notice them. Usually men don't ever notice they have them. Just though I woud let everyone know it wasn't just a girlie problem and that men could have problems also.

If you think you have it in the mouth you need to see a doctor ASP. It goes from the mouth to the lungs and all in between.

AIDs patient sometimes die from yeasties because their immune system gets so bad.

Go to Pubmed and look at the studies on Candidas.

As long as it stays where it belongs just go get your treatment and it is no real problem . It is a pain in the you know what and I hate too get bad case of it.

here are my own experenices as well as other i know that might help put ome light on this issue.

i dont have IBS but i do have Acid reflux confirmed by EGD testing. i take the purple pill prevaid which is of course a proton pump inhibitor daily for it.

when i first switched to PG from analogs i found that my reflux kicked up a notch even prevacid needed antacid back up on a reqular basis. i often have to switch off to Vg or cut my PG mixes down to be less the 30% pg.

my female friend also experenices the down there proplem quite frequently smokes analogs but lives with me when i am on a pure pg blend she has systoms but no onset i usally switch in time for it to clear up. all i can fiqure is that when she is in my car with me her skin is exposed to the pg and something gets in the blood stream that takes her off balance. i think ill put her on some activa or something and see if it is my pg or her own body doing it.

thanks for the warn taz.. so i guess that gives us some sort of right to weigh in and stop the peeking?

This has me stumped. I'm not sure it's related to e-cigs and I'm not convinced it's related to PG either. Here's what I found:

Normally lacto bascilli create an acidic environment which keep a natural occurring yeast population in balance. No problems. However when something changes to either decrease the number of lacto bascilli or decrease the acidity in the environment, then the yeast fungi begin to multiply. Problems.

PG breaks down into lactic acid in the body and lactic acid can accumulate if more is produced than is removed. This causes an increase in the production of hydrogen ions which can cause a decrease in pH (increase in acidity)

So if PG increases acidity, then it should help to stop yeast fungi multiplying? and if an increase in Lactic acid did cause it then we would find a lot of stories about body builders getting it. I can't find any.

But is PG or some other ingredient decreasing the amount of lacto bascilli some how?
