Language question about «vape» :)

A lot of people in my city does not know English, I know this language totally dab, too.
But my friend Vitaly beelives that nations, which use Egnlish as native language, think about people which use «vape» as noun are ....., idiots and fools. For example «I like this vape».

Can you tell me, is this true or not?

He does not beelive in Oxford dictionary, in Google, he sure that it's fake.

Another question - how usually you call your vape?

I personally call my vaporizer a mod. I don't see a problem with anyone saying "my vape" either. I understand what's being said in context of the sentence used.

It doesn't matter though if people do this....

People used to say, "let me get my smokes".... so a vaper might say "can you pass my vape?"

I always grab my vape and vape it.
I no longer grab a smoke and smoke it.
I am not an idiot or a fool for doing so. Cheers.

OK). As I understand, anyway you can parse message if some guy tell you how he likes his vape.
May be he is big idiot, may be not.

I use it in the way you described: "I really like this vape"; "That french pipe juice in a CE4 was just a horrible vape *lol*."
etc.
But... i'm not a native speaker (though many of my friends are), so take it for what it is.

I personally don’t like to use "vape" as a noun. I think "pass my vape" sounds silly and I instead use the nouns "mod" or "PV" (personal vaporizer). I understand what people mean when they use it as a noun and I would never tell them that they’re wrong or idiots or fools.

London...now there's a place to acquire degrees. Much better....

To other people who vape I say mod. To those who don't, I say vape.

I've only heard 'vape' used that way by one person, my sister. It does sound funny to my ears.

But, it sounds a lot better than ecig. And, non-vapers don't know what a mod is.

Either a mod or a vape with the distinction being that:

A mod refers to either only the battery box or the kit (mod and tank),
as in "where the heck did I leave my mod/vape again?"

While vape can mean the same, but can also be about the actual action of vaping,
as in "this vape is banging great/delicious (....exhale...)".

If people know what it means without blinking, it shouldn't be an issue.

I'd say that your friend should get a Kleenex™ and cry about it, then have a Coke™ and take an Aspirin™ so to put a Band-aid™ on his emotional boo-boo that requires him to call people names over something like that.

This whole industry is so new and the words surrounding it have only just come into limited common use that there really is no accepted or "right" way to express it. If "vape" as a noun works for you then it must be right.

On top of that there really is no right way to use or speak the English language. One of the strengths of this language and the reason it is the oldest language on earth (it is one of the original Germanic languages) is that it has constantly changed and adapted itself both to additions from other languages and to changing circumstances over the centuries. There have been misguided attempts in the past to set up rules for the language but they have over time simply fallen by the wayside. We no longer refer to the "King's English". Essentially if you can make yourself understood speaking English then you are by definition speaking it properly.
