Great write-up, Nice pics too!

You could just put a drop of solder on the spring end, they seem to solder very easily.

Really like this mod. Prolly gonna try one, I have some batteries I ordered for something else and didn't use!!

Soldering the spring end works great also but you will need to cut 1-1/2 turns or so off the spring to allow room for the solder ball. I did one with out cutting the spring and the battery was so tight it put to much pressure on the pcb that the switch wouldn't work properly. The battery is already a pretty tight fit.

Yea, I know what you mean, I have a box mod that I had to shorten the spring on too.

I was thinking to just solder the wire on the end of coil of the spring, so it can't enter the hole in the battery.

Thats a nice shot and a great way to do it but if the battery spins at all when threading on the end cap it could still get caught up on the spring and twist things around. Probably could sand it down and make it smooth with no sharp edges to catch on the battery holes.

It might never happen but its better to cover all the bases...:)

Thanks Canyon

I know this us a cheap lazy question, but, how much would you charge to make me two of them?
I love my screwdriver but I have several burned pairs of pants (and body parts "very ouch!) from putting the SD in my pocket (switch placement). Someone said "what's that smell?", before I even knew I was vaping the entire conference room.

Seriously I would like two complete units if at all possible.

Cisco--I had 3 requests for this to be a stickey, so you have a fan base, on top of the fact that this is a very good tutiorial for making a a very viable MOD-----so it is stuck.

Sun

OK Angl you can be my fan....:D

Hows it working for ya....?

Oh.... I LOVE this thing! I have been on the same battery for a good 4 hours now! I hope this continues. :D

The only thing I did to mine, was take off the key chain links and reconnected the lobster claw clasp part. Perfect for hanging outside of my purse, so my fear of it going off if pushed against something in my purse is solved!

Thank you! It's wonderful! ;-)
