The more it looks like a real cigarette, the worse it will perform. This is caused by the size of the battery. A battery rated at 650 mah is as small as you would want to go. Also while the eGo-T battery isn't that bad, the eGo-T atomizer is a POS. You would just get the same problems that you are trying to get away from.

That Kanger eVod kit is probably the best suggestion your likely to get.

Please don't get the T system. As has been stated it's a POS. Taste is OK most of the time, but thoat hit and vapor is very it or miss. Plus, it's more expensive in the long run compared to many other systems.

A standard eGo battery will last much longer than any of your current batteries. Size-wise, they are like a small cigarillo. It doesn't take long to get used to that size, and neither does having to push a button. The Evod is small, easy to fill, and easy to maintain. If the coil goes, just screw in a new one.

Figure the eGo batteries (get a few) at about $12 each, Couple of Evods at $6, 5 pack of extra heads at $6, and an eGo charger for another $6 or so and you have a solid system with a little bit of backup for $54.

Here's the setup in my hand (which isn't large)...

Check the PIF (pay it forward) sections as well Cali, especially if money is tight. You can usually pick up a few things while gifting the stuff you don't use already. Great for trying some different juices and gifting the ones you don't like.

Linky: Pay It Forward - PIF

Exceptionally good advice, as lotsa folks PIF their EGOs and whatnot as they move to the "beefier" mods.

First off, you are going "cheap" and I'm sorry to say it, but you tend to get what you pay for in this industry! The pre-filled juices in most of the brands you mentioned leave a lot to be desired!
When I started out I went with Vapor4life and really had good luck with them, but it seems the company policy has changed a bit, but I think they are getting back to their roots from what I gather. BUT, they are 808, not 510 connections, so when you are ready to advance, you are limited, or have to use adapters for everything.
The smaller EGO's are 100's times better than any cig-alike ever dreamed of! Decent run times and seem a lot more durable than them. I had an auto cig alike in my pocket one day I was running a skid steer, went to hit it and it was dead. Come to find out loud sound would make it go off! Well, no good for me!
I've got some extra (old mind you) V4L batteries, manual and auto, I should be able to round up a charger for them, you are welcome to if you are interested in trying the 808 system? I might even have some empty mega carto's that I'll throw in if I find them. I'd have to go through my juice stash to see what I'd part with, but anything to help a new vapor get a better experience!

I'm an idiot and i just got my first e-cig in the mail last week.

    It's a JoyeTech 510.

I was pretty frustrated like you (and i made a similar thread, but in it i asked everyone for advice on how to use my 510 as opposed to advice on what set-up to buy) to start with too. I was getting a burnt taste and everything and i didn't even know if i was filling up my cartridges correctly.

But i just Kanger clearomizers and these things are idiot-proof because you can see the liquid and thus you'll know when its time to refill it up. I suggest you do the same.

All you gotta know is whether to get low resistance or standard resistance. But actually you don't even have to know this yourself ...i just asked people on here which one to get and they made the right choice for me lol.

After suffering the same consequences you've had, I bought an Ego-T and I love it. I bought mine for $24.99 here, and it came with a plastic clearomizer. https://www.sharp-smoker.com/ego-e-cig-s/104.htm?searching=Y&sort=1&cat=104&show=10&page=1

Save yourself some trouble and save the plastic clearo for an emergency, and buy a Kanger Pro Tank Mini. The website where I bought it no longer has them in stock, but here is one I found:Kanger Mini ProTank - Clear Glass

The glass tank will not crack with certain flavors like the plastic ones will.

O.K. my two pennies worth and perhaps a little bit of background:
At the beginning of this year my husband came home with the Joyetech 510T ecigarette. See here: 510-T / Vancity Vapor est. 2010

Now, I had not interest or intention to stop smoking my beloved red Marlboro cigarettes, which I had done for over twenty years. (I am 48) I thought his new toy looked rather funny and well I gave it a puff. It did nothing for me.

The next day, I took his toy outside and with it my Marlboro and I smoked both- alternating between the two. At that point I thought, this "thingy" wasn't as bad as I thought the night before. Before I knew it...a day later...I had stoped smoking for good (!) and was fully on the above ecigarette. I have to say what really helped was that the juice he had in it was very similar to my cigarettes. ("Liqua" - American Blend/Tobacco from the Italian company Ritchy)

So for the next weeks I used the above kit and got used to filling it up, cleaning it and all the rest of it. Over time though, I started to try other ecigarettes, but all of them could be used with the above batteries and they where all NOT pre-filled. So I had to do this on my own. One of the things that bothered me a bit was that apparently a lot of ecigrettes "leak" from time to time.

From the above I progressed to the Vizy V3, which is in effect another tank that fits on the Joyetech system. (You can use the batteries for both).
    See here:
    Vizy Vaporizers Starter Kits
These were/are ten times better than the Joyetechs as a) the battery lasts longer and b) the tank is bigger so you do not have to re-fill it that often. Admittedly though, they looks less like a real cigarette and so I started to smoke those at home and the other ones outside.

Now my latest adventure is the Kangertech tanks, see here: 2.5ml KangerTech ProTank BCC(Bottom Coil Changeable) Glass Cartomizer - Vancity Vapor est. 2010 with a stronger battery, such as this one KangerTech EVOD 1000mAh manual battery - Vancity Vapor est. 2010

I have to admit the latest aquisition is far from "sexy" but frankly superb to smoke! The best part of it is that they do not leak! And by now I do not smoke the origial Joyetech 510T anymore as they can not compete with the later sets.

So...after this long story, what I actually wanted to say is: Ithink it would be worthwhile to invest in one of those less cool looking devices as in the long run, you might not care how they look but enjoy the vaping so much more. I could have saved myself quite a bit of money would I have gone for the later sets at an earlier stage.

You will need at least two tanks and two batteries to start with and before I forget: I always used the refill system as it is so much cheaper.

Apologies for this long blurb, but I hope it might be helpful?
Bye for now and good luck
    Stef.

Check out the eroll...may be just what you're looking for. Outside of that I would suggest an ego battery with either a stardust replaceable coil type clearomizer or bottom coil type..evod comes to mind. All of these will be more satisfying and less hassle than what you're using now.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 4

I agree with the ERoll, I just sold one today and it sounds close to what you're looking for. You don't charge the ERoll itself, you charge the case. I can't remember off hand how many mah the case is but I know that you can get 3-4 good charges off the case before needing to plug in, one of the downsides though is you're going to be refilling often.

I usually suggested new vapers get one name brand battery if it's within their budget, but if not, the next best thing is a reputable vendor. Venerable Vaping put together this kit for beginners on a budget:

    eGo-T CE4 Duel Starter Kit w/1100mah Batte..

They have a good price on EVODS too: eVOD Clearomizer

Best recommendation right there. Add your favorite flavored e-liquid and your set.
Remember all parts are considered Disposable - with exception of the evod Tank itself.
    Batteries eventually wear out.
Coil Heads fail, but can easily be replaced.
    Maintenance is simple

While I have many Mods.Tanks etc. I highly recommend the above setup for newer Vapers and as excellent backups.

I also can't recommend the Kanger Evod kit enough, I don't use the Kanger batteries as I much prefer a VV Ego Twist, but the regular Ego batteries are just fine too. The Evod clearo is what really makes the experience good if you ask me, as long as you don't vape a strong citrus-y flavor I have yet to find anything that will damage them..I routinely vape maybe five or six different juices that are on the 'unsafe' list and have yet to encounter a problem with fogging/cracking. Either I'm getting lucky, or they're designed well enough that they'll hold up to a bit of abuse. They're also pocket/purse friendly, I can just drop mine in with my phone and wallet without even thinking about leaking or other issues.

    Hi Cali.girl,

Hang in there! You've gotten some great advice ^^^
I also wanted something girly, and didn't think I'd ever want one of those fat ego style batteries - but I was wrong. I have 2 mini size ego batteries (350 mAh) and one vv 1300 mAh ego twist battery which I use around home mostly. They are very versatile in that you can use many different toppers with them. The Kanger ones (EVOD, Protank) are great.
BUT, I did find a great (girly 'cause mine is pink ;)) unit - the Joyetech eCab. I got my set from LiteCigUSA for a fair price, although you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere. It's slender like the 510, but comes with separate batteries - my kit came with 2 plus the charger, plus 2 atomizers and 3 tanks. I thought this setup would be too fussy for me, but it's not. The batteries each last a long time and since you have 2 with the charger, you always can have one available to swap out. Tanks are easy to fill and inexpensive to replace - or get more of.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I just wanted to share that I really did not want any of the bigger size batteries when I started, but I changed my mind after trying one. And I also found my girly style for out and about that performs really well too. You'll find what works for you so don't be discouraged.
    Best wishes :)

Sounds like you've had a tough time. The cig size are terrible your spending easily 4 times more on those. Your battery is about 140 milliamp hour rating. The lowest you want to go is 650 mah - 4 times more.

You will save a lot of money getting off cig style. It will probably pay for itself in the first month with money you were spending on the other kits per month. Then after the first month your expense will be negligible. Just ejuice and a atomizer here and there. 2 batteries should last you 6 months or more. i have gotten to where my vape budget is 40.00 a month max. Some months I literally spend Nothing.

So you need to look at reasonably priced good juices. When I was buying juice I paid 12.00 for 30ml which lasted Me a month in the beginning. You will need to try a few Different flavors and nic strengths I would recommend getting a 12 mg and an 18 mg to see which works best for you. I really liked the juices from liberty flights, they have a good selection of tobaccos and Pg or vg. I can recommend a few, gold&silver, Churchill, hotel, and thier premium smooth tobacco. But tht what I liked there are many others. You may find other sources that are good or Better but just posting for you.
    E Liquid - Original - E Liquid 10ML - VG - Tobaccos .

Here is a starter 650 evod kit. USA business, fast shipping/ at my door in 3 days, and
Great service. This is a kit that you can use for quite some time with only juice and heads needed for months after This purchase. You will need one to two heads a week, or less if you wash them.
    Kanger eVod Kit - Purple

I would highly recommend an evod type kit. I think you may want to consider the 900 mah batteries they are only slightly longer and will last 50% longer than 650 bats but you can get that later. A 650 with an evod is about the size of a short small cigar. . My wife uses my 9 mnth old 650 with an evod, still going strong. Ego battery's are all essentially the same except for voltage output unless they are variable voltage: which I would recommend but that will come in time.

Vaping is a lot more learning and searching but the money and health savings are
    Worth it.

I started w/NJOY myself. It was a great introduction to a great alternative to smoking. If you want a cigalike hands down get the eroll. That's what I was dead set on, but took the recommendation to go for the egoC with mini vivi nova tanks. It's no cigalike, but I'm really happy with my choice as i they're 2.5 ML tanks I fill once or twice a day. I'd be filling the eroll much more frequently. I can't imagine you get the same throat hit and vapor production with the eroll, but it's quite an impressive device. Either way, go to rockymountainvapor.com and buy it. Enter 20rocky in the coupon code at check out for 20% off. Best deal I've seen anywhere and free shipping over $14 orders to boot. I'm spending $20 a month on juice, a huge budget saver! Good luck.

The setup Amish Ed recommended is good because you'd have 2 batteries (one for backup) and a bunch of EVODs for different flavors. I don't have any experience with eGos so take the rest of this post with a grain of salt! After using the G6 cigalikes for two months, I just bought the iTaste vv/vw v3from FastTech for $39 and all I can say is WOW - the vapor clouds and taste are amazing! It comes with 5 iClear 16 tanks, so you'd have more than enough to use different flavors and the wick/coil heads are replaceable (about $2-3 a piece). The downside is not getting 2 batteries, but the iClears are highly rated (at least on reviews I've seen - check YouTube) and the battery has some advanced features (variable voltage and wattage) that you may be interested in down the line as you get more into vaping. Lots of good advice here, but just wanted to add my +1 to the iTaste vv/vw v3!

Lot of great advice here. I also recommend ego style batteries, (you'll want at least two eventually), along with Evod/mini Protanks. I use them on Joyetech ego twist's and I couldn't be happier.
Might I suggest since you're in the L.A. area to maybe check in to a local vape shop? I'm sure there are a few around you that would be more than happy to give you an actual hands on experience with this equipment. I remember starting out and it was a bit difficult catching on with some of this stuff till I actually got my feet wet with the gear.
Here's a video by forum favorite Phil Busardo which shows everything you'd want to know about EVods. The 2nd half is a tutorial on how to recoil the heads yourself if you ever want to go down that road.
Also, can't forget juice! A lot of the regulars here will suggest Mount Baker Vapor. Their prices are some of the lowest that you'll find anywhere and the product is good. I'd also suggest EC Blend. Slightly more expensive but not by much and they have 100's of flavors with 5ml sample bottles for only 2.50. Just be sure to let them steep before using from either vendor.
Good luck on your journey and welcome to the ECF! :toast:
