In my experience a needle is required, or maybe I'm thinking of a stitch. In time, it saves nine. That might have something to do with cats, they like to play with threads. And their claws can be like needles. Maybe a cat can close this thread.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but how does 2 years sound for a thread closing date? 20,000 posts? That would be too obvious. Best leave it running forever, it's a good enough joke. A punchline would be nice, eventually. I appreciate a good shaggy dog story as much as the next guy, but this one is a doozy.

It's had several punchlines already. Perhaps that's the problem--perhaps those of us who were here when it started just feel the thread deserves to have as many punchlines as it can get
