After over a year of vaping, I backslid big time!

Not only did I let myself down, but the people I converted to vaping as well.

From KR808 to Ego and back to KR808, I just got fed up one day of dead, disfunctional and weak batteries, adjusting center posts and refilling cartoz.. during a day of being out and about. It seemed so much easier to buy a pack, light one up and get my nic fix I was craving so bad.

I am in no way blaming anyone here but myself. V4L has been nothing but great to me. Besides, they are not the ones making the hardware and can not do QC properly because of that.

Dont get me wrong though.. Real ones TASTE & SMELL horrible! But, the convenience factor has me smoking again. 5th pack in past 2 weeks. I still vape indoors and around family just because it doesnt bother them as much as cigarettes do.

I never found that "sweet spot" alot of people talk about around the forums. I got sick of searching for "the flavor" that would be my all day vape so I stuck to one I liked and too much of it made me feel grossed out some times.

It feels like I need to start all over again and to be honest, I am so drained emotionally and physically about all of this that I dont want to.

A combo of personal problems and hardware maintenence frustration led me to smoke again... Bottom line is I failed..

Wow, sorry... that has to suck big time. Be positive my friend - that year plus of vaping has extended your life by a good amount and all is not lost yet. If you only just went back to analog's you haven't yet managed to undo all the good that vaping did for you. In my humble opinion you are right though about hardware, try something different. Get yourself a solid reliable mod, variable voltage perhaps. Get some XL clearomisers or giantomisers. They're pretty faff-free, one fill per day maybe for most folk. Fill a couple at night while you are reading ECF and no faff for all the next day.

You have not yet failed, only faltered. And we are only human. I quit smoking completely once for four and a half years then went back to it because I enjoyed it. Now here I am vaping getting the best of both worlds. You can too.

All the best :thumb:

Hey, beating yourself up doesn't work, believe me. I was analog-free for almost 2 years and then slid back to them for a few months. The battery charger died for my Riva and and I too found it easier to grab a pack rather than wait for another shipment. Then I started looking at how much a 1-2 pack a day habit was eating into my wallet and hopped back on the e-cig train and never looked back.
That was last June, so I guess I just had my one year anniversary on the second go-round last month. It happens, get over it and get on with things.

I've found that picking up another battery or two every time I order my juices helps ensure that if I have one die there's another sitting there waiting to pick up the slack.

Sorry to hear you've been going through a lot lately Newb! Whatever you choose, the good people on this forum will be here to support you if you decide to try again. I see this forum as a support group, so that when things are hard, there is someone to say just the right thing at the right time. There have been some wise words here already.
Hope things look up for you!

Newb sir don't have much to add that hasn't already been said. Things happen, you have to do whatever you can to deal with your frustrations in your own way. Hopefully after a break, you'll give vaping another shot, but then again maybe vaping isn't the answer you need. Just know there are plenty of people here for support if you need it sir.

Hi Newb,
Your human!!
You are still working it both ways so your saving yourself anyway. Like it or not, there are things in cig smoke that matter especially in times of stress. I blew it the other day after feeling so stressed I didn't know what to do and one cig worked well for me. I understand the "guilt" but it isn't worth your time. Sometimes no matter how long you have been vaping you will just "need" an analog.
It takes a lot of money and time to get the system that works best for you in vaping and you will get there, that is not to say you will never need another cig cause it will happen at times for lots of folks and its quite ok. Vaping is not something that has to be exclusive with no other choice.
You have done very well and need to pat yourself on the back for all the cigs you did not smoke and know that you can go back to vaping exclusively when your life settles down and you are ready to do it.
We will be here for you no matter how you handle this situation. Every cig you still aren't smoking is still a victory!!

Bottom line is I failed..

No, you didn't. You tried and slipped ... and when you're ready you'll to do it, you'll try again.

It took me a year and a half, but I finally found that the replacement-cycle and failure-rate on rechargeable-ecig-specific batteries (meaning it looks like a cig/pen/stick/etc. rather than a battery) was not acceptable to me at all. It was time for me to move up the battery-food-chain. V4L doesn't carry a battery-housing type mod -- even though in my honest opinion, they'd do well with one -- so I can't offer any more advice here.

I'm sorry that you're having a hard time right now, but have no fear that when you are ready you'll rejoin the ranks!! ;)

Newb....hon, there is not much that I can add to what has already been said except, not everyone finds that sweet spot all day vape....my flavors change daily and I alternate between at least 4 flavors all day long....I tire of a certain flavor very quickly.

hmmmm 5 packs in 2 weeks....for me that alone would still be a kind of victory.....I know if I were to go back, it would be straight to at least a pack a day....so you are already 9+ packs more avoided than I would have been;)

Don't sweat it too much hon.....when you are ready, all will be here and there waiting for ya. (((hugs)))

I feel for you and like everyone here wish you all the best in finding your way. And you will, in your own way and time, if it's important enough to you. Good luck, comrade.

But Newb, I want to thank you for having the guts to post your experience so openly here. Your experience is a wake-up call for me and others to be careful, even after a year has passed. It confirms what I've been telling myself... that the fight's never completely over. Damn, I hate the whole cig thing.

I know exactly where you are coming from in regards to the convenience factor. For the first year of my vaping, every day was a constant fight in my mind to not go back to smoking. I figured that as time went by, the urge to light up would go away, but it never seemed to diminish. Every time a battery died on me early, or my carto ran dry before I was expecting it, I would almost get in my car and drive to the nearest convenience store.

The only reason I'm still off of cigs is that I finally broke down and got a fully mechanic big battery mod. The batteries last all day and the hits are a lot stronger. Since I got my mod, I've only had a single urge to smoke, and it was only because I had been gaming with a buddy and had forgotten to vape for a couple hours.

I'm not saying a mod is the answer to all your troubles, but it definitely helped me get rid of the frustrations I had with my old ecig setup.

Thanks everyone for the support.

I survived the year because I was always searching for flavors, juices, hardware and other things vaping related to keep myself busy. In order to keep up with the bills, I had to stop spending too much of my time and money searching, ordering and experimenting.

I never went with an all out Mod because they seem too bulky to carry around. My job requires me to travel and stop frequently at properties they own and snoop around to make sure the other employees are doing their jobs.

As for the PT, I have bad luck with that too... Wont function... I know CS would replace it if I asked but this thing has been used once before it stoped working so Im not sure I want another one.. (tried in different ports and different PC's)

I am open to PM suggestions since some advice would conflict with V4L's business.

I really dont want to go to the general forum because some people are not as nice and understanding as this family is..
