If Orachel invited you, then you are definitely welcome! She may own this thread...

lol I think only vendors and mods can own threads, but I may be wrong. I certainly don't own this one. I just saw the need to start it when some new vaper in the apollo thread poured liquid into his atty, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't vape. lol

I dont' know why they have that battery.. I'm 89% positive it won't fit in the lavatube body... or at least not the steel body. 2000mah imrs from other sellers were barely fitting, and there was a little gap. They couldn't get the cap on with 2200mah. Those might be particularly short 2200s, though, but honestly...IMO, you're MUCH better off with the Panny 18650s at 2200mah... Its just much more stable chemistry. I'm not an authority on the subject but I did a ton of research and listened to people who ARE an authority. lol And barring that Panny, get AW imr. The lesser brand imrs just aren't thought quite as highly of, either for perfomance or stability, and they certainly don't last as long.

Once again, I'm in agreement with you. That Panny batt is top notch, and I was just about to order some when I found some 18650s for $4 each, so of course I went the cheap route. I read all the reviews, charts, etc for those Pannys and the next time I need a battery I will buy one of those without hesitation.

Thank you! I love it when you guys who actually know about stuff like electronics verify what I say, cause with that stuff I'm just talking from 3rd party reviews... I just don't have any background in stuff like that aside from research for vaping, so I'm pretty confident in what I'm saying, but always nice to hear my cheese hath not slid off my cracker. rofl

Maybe thats why they're in the discounted/discontinued section...

Holy schneikes.. is he using the v 1.5 tube, like you are? I'm making that assumption. That is seriously cool. Seriously. Cool. I guess I can stop bowing and scraping and wishing for a provari. Of course, REALLY want one of those new silver minis with that cool pattern on em. I just will not ever have an extra $160 or whatever they cost. And always have lusted for a mist in the woods provari... but hell.. unless I go into spontaneous remission, and can go back to work, that'll remain a pipe dream. lol I am relatively happy with my steel tube (would loooove that 3.2 or 4 amp switch and the ohm meter, though in the new versions) and my new... now finallly working... vision tox.

BTW, any of you who wanted to check out those tox, that work like a lavatube, but can be switched from 18350-18500 and with an extra $10 tube to 18650... they're finally received from china and on the site at gotvapes, now. And I can report that the new heads are killer, and seem to be going up to close to 6v. Can't meter it, though, so you may want to wait for some reviews. BUT... make sure you're watching reviews of the metal head upgraded tox, cause there's a ton of crummy reviews that people did before the unit was completely redesigned/reprogrammed and thus before it maintained voltage under load properly. My new head is awesome, though! So if switching sizes or a really clear display is important to you, that may be one to consider.

That is with his version 1 lavatube. With the new upgrades, I can't see provari being a good option. after posting that i happened on another thread here "provari with a lavatube as backup", and learned the same thing. If I knew how to put that in here to connect you I would, but it was on page 2 of my thread.

Yeah, I'm thinking esp with yours... the v1.5 doing 3.2amps, and now the new new one... the v 2.0 (some vendors inexplicably calling it the 3.0) with the 4amp switch... granted... you do get some MAJOR benefits with the provari. For $20 or $25, at any point in the future, they'll upgrade em to the internals at that time... that's HUGE imo... but still, we've got a device for tube only $50 that rivals a $160 model any way you cut it. Now I'm waiting till they have the V2 in the metal bodies, and THAT will truly be comparable on every level, including heft. But that's more important for people who are into the looks of the thing (though I do love the silver powdercoated ones) and who need them to be super durable.. like a work pv in an industrial environment. For flat performance, they're comparable right now, just based on stated spec. ;)

oh yeah... good catch. Betting Andrew bought a bunch of em when he was waiting on the tubes, then found out they would't fit. lol Poor guy. Still loads of pvs out there that'll fit em though. And honestly, at the price, you're better off going quality. Trust me... bought a bunch of cheap imrs when I first got started with 18650 and 18500s and 18350 devices.. have had to replace half of em, and its been like 3mos. No savings in that. lol That's why I keep dropping links to good batts and chargers... eventually that stuff has to be replaced, that comes with the kits. ;)

You won't need an adapter with that, it'll work just fine. :) I also started on 510's with cartridges. *shudder* I think we're going to see a veritable explosion of new apv's over the next year or so. I'm excited to see what happens!

And thanks! Little Mia sure has big ears, doesn't she? lol

Thanks for the info! And I agree with your *shudder* I've been so frustrated with my old ecig hardware! I've been on a quest to finally find the satisfying vape that will keep me off analogs for good. I've fallen off the wagon a few times   which is something I'm not proud of. I'm just glad I finally found a VV mod that I can afford! :w00t: I guess I'm joining the ranks of the APV users at last!

Mia and her ears are adorable! We have 4 dogs, all rescues, and my mini Dacshund is a big dog in a little body. lol! I call our other 3 my moose herd--coonhound mix, lab mix, and Shar-Pei. They are our "fur children", and spoiled! But they're worth it! :)

And trunkinlady... Just a suggestion, but the one carlton mentioned has now been upgraded with longer wicks, which I see as the big design flaw of the originals.. see those tiny stubby wicks up at the top of the original one? THOSE are the problem. So if you try that exact model, you'll have to sorta swirl your pv upside down to get the wicks wet. Or you can get the exact same carto, only with longer wicks (much Mo betta) here...
Vision eGo CE4+ Clearomizer DV Edition (LR)
OR, even better.. they now have a version that is a tiny bit bigger (say another .5ml or so) AND has a replaceable core... so when it dies, or if you get the dreaded burned flavor, you can just take out the 'core' and replace it with a new one, and save a ton of money. Here's the carto itself...
eGo CE5+ Rebuildable Clearomizer
and spare cores w wicks and coil
eGo CE5+ Rebuildable Core

All I've tried is the orig, but the upgrades are getting much more positive reviews than the originals... and I know the stubby wicks are what I don't like about the originals, so it makes sense. lol

Thanks for the info, and the links! I've added them to my favs since I'm sure I'll be ordering from them a lot. :)

its $8.89 at orbtronic.. that's the link I've been giving, but I did NOT know they had free shipping... so yeah, probably works out to the same or a little cheaper at orbtronic. Thanks so much for pointing that out! I guess if you're buying a bunch would be a good way to make the sale at carolina pay, otherwise, for a few orbtronic makes more sense. I dunno what shipping is at carolina. I just ordered a few AWIMR 18350s at RTDVapor.. they were like $7.40 or something nuts.

Orbtronic 2 @ 8.89 ea - 3% discount for buying 2 shipped = $17.25
Carolina Vapes 2 @ 7.99 - 10% discount + 1.45 shipping = $15.83 savings $1.42 Winner.....

Hey, I'm not sure about all the battery discussion. I'm still using the ones that came with & bought extra when I ordered. But ccv has a "smok 18650" 2200 mah for $7 in their discounted items section. And they have free shipping too.

Unless it is an AW IMR, AW ICR, or the new Panasonic's the cost difference isn't worth the risk of saving even $5.00 each..... With all the discussions about battery safety lately, I shutter at the thought of your suggestion to buy a battery like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just popping in here cuz my buddy Orachel said to! I have a VV box mod. Am I invited to the party, or am I a crasher and y'all will kick me out?
;)

Hiya, sandy! I've been ducking in and outa here for help with my new vv and no one's kicked me out yet! I found it when I was having trouble with my first vv (lavatube clone) and playing phone tag with the guys at CS. I'm not long on patience, which is why I chose my rig to begin with (fill tank, vape! occasionally change battery and/or carto! the end!). Orachel has walked me thru in baby steps since I am SUCH a simpleton about this stuff! If I don't see you here, I'll see you in TWR! :)

Does that ce5 have the new stronger tubes? I checked the link but it doesn't say

Quick update:

I got my from DV today:
2 x AW 700mAh 3.7v 18350 Battery
1 x XB-866 Auto Range Digital Multimeter
1 x Xtar WP2 II Charger

Now vapeing on my mini LT and loveing it. Forgot to order a couple more spacers for the charger though so I can only charge 1 of the 18350's at a time. Overall I am happy with the charger. Only downside to it is the batteries do not snap into place. They just kind of set in the charger but they still charge even if the batteries are at somewhat of an angle. Other than that I love it.

Nice to have the car adapter as well as the ability to charge something like a cell phone from it. As soon as I get the money I will be ordering another as a spare. I am prone to break everything and this charger will be going on many camping trips so I am sure I will break it sooner or later

Thanks so much Muzikhead! That's exactly what we needed! I knew it would be better if shipping was cheap, but so many vape places have that standard $5 shipping, and that would have just been silly. lol Hope that sale lasts a while cause I'd sure like to pick up some cheap myself and am skint right now. ;)

Should have been "I got my order from DV today"

grr why do I not have an edit option on my posts

Oh that's so odd. My 'like' button disappears all the time, but I never lose the edit. That would be a total pain in the tail. lol
So glad you're liking the charger, and yeah, I agree the only thing I would change is to make the spring a little more 'snappy'. lol I do find that when I use spacers, with batts that might not normally need them, I get a lot more of that snappy action, but then you need some spare spacers. I need to grab a handful of those just to have one of these days. Cracking up I'm not the only person who's a black hole of breakage! lol That's exactly why I need a spare, as well. lol I do know that crystal clear is getting some interesting chargers... I haven't done any of the research on them yet. They'e apparently ultrafire, and I didn't realize ultrafire even made quality intelligent chargers, but apparently they're pretty amazing according to Andrew at CCV. So once those come out, I'll look into them and see how they're considered. I'm pretty darn happy with the WP2 II though, so would have to be pretty darn impressive to sway me. lol

Must be something to do with this thread. I have edit button on all the others. Yeah I break everything, even the things they say can't be broken..lol

Kind of off topic but not that I got my LT mini up and going does anyone have any suggestions on a good rebuildable tank. I have been looking at the zen and tanks like that but way out of my price range.

I haven't tried this, but heard great things about it.... Not so much rebuildable as replaceable core. I left links back a few posts ago, its the ce5+ for $6 and separate cores are like $1.76 I've heard great things, and honestly, its half the costs of the others, with excellent cost on replacements. You can peek at Discount vapers forum if you want to hear what people are saying about them. The vivi nova sounds great, but I know 3 people who haven't been able to get it to work, period, so that may not be one unless you're a serious tinkerer. DV has about 3 new low cost rebuildable options, so I'd peek in the 'tanks' and 'cartomizers' sections...new ego tank, and one other along with the ce5. I will tell you... Eric at DV tells you exactly how things work, warts and all, so the descriptions will warn you of any possible issues with any of his stuff. Also, I've not heard good or bad about these, but I know Parkes Vaping has an 'acorn' tank, very inexpensive, and I believe that's rebuildable. Just remember if you're using any 'ego' device you need a 510 to ego adapter on a regular mini, 510 to 510 shorty adapter on any chrome or stainless mini.

And yiddleboge6, I talked to Eric about that, and he says the manufacturer (vision, I believe) says they are upgraded. I think he mentions in the description what they're made of. I can tell you that even the CE4s were pretty durable. I break EVERYTHING and I only managed to break one of those... and that CE5 is 2 incarnations further along than that. ;)

And I promise you guys...as soon as I have a few dollars I'll try one of those and report. But i can say I liked the CE4 a lot more than I would... only issue was the stubby wicks. So the ce4+ with longer wicks was an advance, and now the ce5+ is very exciting. He also has a ce6... but I have NO idea what that guy is... looks more like a phoenix than a ce5.

And Carolina... I'm with you on the zen tanks! So want one! So will never have one! rofl Oh, and I do have 'edit button' on this thread... might just be something wonky with your browser, or ecf. I run into issues when my 'like' button disappears constantly, and everyone else still has theirs. lol And as for a 'true' rebuildable tank that lasts ages... nope, I don't know of any offhand other than the really pricey ones. All I know in reasonable range are the sort of 'disposable rebuildables'. I will say that the inexpensive manufacturers are just starting to experiment with those, though, so I have high hopes for the next few mos seeing some exciting inexpensive options in rebuildable tanks. I want vision to make one in the same 'pliable' plastic they use for their 'grande' with the colors... that would be fabulous, and I find that plastic doesn't get the hairline pressure fractures something like a CE4 is prone to.
