Oh wow.. very odd! Hoping one of our techie helpers has a solution... I'm about the least techie vaper on earth. lol (crossing fingers!) otherwise, you can always ask in the apollo update thread. Lots of very handy people hanging about in there, and many of them are making modifications to theirs. Have a blast at Vapeatron! Sounds amazing!

I've never heard of this before. The center post in the middle of my SS LT has a slot and it looks like you can put a small flat head screw driver in it. Maybe this is how you can adjust it.

I would try it myself, but my draw is perfect and I wouldn't want to mess up my mod.

oooh, feel better, hon! tummy upsets are no fun at all. ;) And I'm with you... when I feel crummy I go for the simplest most effective vape possible.

We're fine today -- DH had it, too, whatever it was, but it was apparently just something "passing through"! Ohhhh, hissssssssssssssss boooooooooooooooo!

'kay, I put in a new carto and all is working fine! Talked to the guys at V9 and they said they're getting about a week's use out of them, and that they're getting them from the same supplier that Volcano does. Is there a better quality one I should be buying, or are those satisfactory? Thanks all! :)

Anyone with a powdercoated tube... Apollo has 30% off of the stainless, chrome and copper ones, I believe. KILLER device. The powdercoated ones work well, but the all metal ones are really nice and hefty and very very durable.

I joined the SS "club" last week..it's a good deal just under $74 for the SS Vtube kit (2 batteries 1 atomizer 1 charger 1 case and a SS Drip Tip) shipped..that's lower than I can get a Chrome "Lambo" for anywhere else right now :)

Edit: Here's a link to Apollo's thread with the discount code in it~> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/301340-apollo-vtube-sales-30-off-best-vv-deal-market.html I guess it's running until the sell out of all the "V1 LT's" :)

Congrats on the purchase Chrispy, I remember you were kind of on the fence about getting one. I sure am enjoying the hell out of mine especially now that I found a carto that I like.

Thanks..I waited and waited for a really good sale on a Chrome "Lambo" almost bought one at VaporAlley when he had them for $69 but the day I was going to buy one it went off sale. I almost bought the Chrome at Apollo but I said what the heck it would be nice to have a SS kit for just under $74 shipped with a 1 year warranty.

I thought about owning a 3rd "LT" but I think for now my next purchase will be a eGo twist or 2..maybe I'll buy another "LT" in a year and use the chip to upgrade my SS (unless they sell more SS in the future but it doesn't look like they will) or if I'm lucky they will sell upgraded chips for the "LT's" in the future as I'm sure I could switch them out :)

It's really nice having 2 "LT's" so I don't have to switch flavors..I've found I really only need 2 as a lot of the other flavors (I vape a bunch of flavors and I have over 30 I could mix from WizardLabs lol) I use work good on my SD Key rings and eGo's :)

Dying to know what carto you ended up liking! I know you were struggling with that. ;)

And Cru... I'm right here! lol Haven't gone anywhere, promise, I just haven't been spending as much time at ecf cause the questions had slowed down. BUT my friend who owns a digital art site just got started vaping with her husband, and since she knew I vaped, and a few other members do that I've converted (might be some other vapers i don't know about, but we'll find out soon) she started a new mini vaping forum for her membership. Lots of people are smokers who I never knew about, so I didn't send them vaping info, and I gave them a bunch of links as well as a link to this thread if the New Member forum gets too confusing or overwhelming for em. So counting on all of you to welcome a few brand new vapers if they pop in here.

So question... I put a lot of thought into the 'starter gear' to recommend for them. I was hunting for a good ego starter kit with 1000-1100 mah batteries, but by the time they get that, plus a passthrough, plus cartos, plus juices the cost ends up pretty steep. So what I ended up doing... for those who spend a lot of time on the puter, 1 standalone 1000mah ego passthrough battery, 1 ego twist battery (so they have both the ability to vape plugged in, plus ability to kick it up a notch voltage wise if they need to. Also a 15 pack of the 1.7ohm resurrectors, and a 10 flavor starter pack at The Vapor Room. I figure the only thing they're missing with that is an atty, and honestly, I've just heard about some more advanced ego mega attys and cisco attys which kick the tail of the garden variety joye or knockoff atty in the kit. Plus in my experience, beginners usually don't get into dripping for a few mos, anyway. So what do you guys think of that as an advanced ego starter setup? Totally open to critique here... we're talking a good 5 or 6 people right now, and may soon be 20 or more, so really wanna make sure I'm recommending stuff which will keep them satisfied the longest, if that makes sense. I hunted for a twist kit, and couldn't find one. Plus thinking if they are out there they'll be in the $80-100 range, anyway. Any thoughts?

Morning Orachel and all you other helpful folks! :)

I didn't get an answer to my above question -- is there a different carto I should buying for my Nova (V9 LT clone)? Thanks! :)

Ack! So sorry Funnyfarm! they started a vaping forum at the graphics site I hang out at, and have kept me on my toes. But you did exactly the right thing... yell out and bring it to my attention. Um... Yeah, if they're getting a week max, you should try these. The best deal is by the 15 pack ($25? I think), but you can also buy by the 5 pack here ($9.50) or by the single (I'd do that first to try em.... you want to get em at ccv for the most part cause of the free shipping, though)... Thse are the 1.7ohm smoktech single coils punched and plated for tanks. Now these are perfect about up to 4.4-4.5 volts. IF you want to vape much higher, smoktech also sells the 2 ohm variety punched and plated (I vastly prefer the single coils, but you may well like the dual coils. I believe they have 2 ohm in both... and then up to about 4ohm. If there's a specific voltage you tend to like, lemme know and I'll get you a link for that exact carto. But up to about 4.5v thse are the most satisfaction I've gotten out of a tank carto. And SO sorry to keep you waiting, hon! Just dropped that ball. lol
15 pack (free shipp free driptip)
Crystal Clear Vaping
5pack (free ship)
Crystal Clear Vaping

And by the single... You can choose the single coil 1.7ohm (great from 3.7- about 4.5), 2 ohm, or 3 ohm (virtually up to 6v, maybe 5.8) Pay for shipping... BUT they also sell dual coils in 2, 3 etc. Some people really prefer dual coils, some really prefer singles. So were I you, I'd buy one of the singles 1.7ohm, and one of the dual coils in about a 2 - 3 ohm. You won't be able to vape the 1.25-1.5 up over about mid 3s, so they're not a good choice. ;)
Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL
dual coil singles
Dual Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the 6ml SmokTank

Lemme know how those go! Those are pretty darn good quality tank cartos. Best I've found, anyway. And very few varieties exist 'punched and plated' for ease of use in tanks. ;)

You betcha, hon! And feel free to pm if you ever are in a rush. I keep pretty good eye on this thread, but occasionally I read something, mean to respond, get distracted (oh the joys of fibro! rofl) and then forget entirely. ;) And curious to hear what you try and what you think. Oh... and if you get creative and find em elsewhere... just make sure you buy the ones with ONE hole. The 3 hole ones flood and you end up with liquid in your mouth.. pain in the tail. lol

Orachel, I ended up with some pre-punched and flanged 2ohm single coil cartos. I was just getting ready to order a few different styles to try, then MV had a huge sale on those, so I got a few of the the three hole variety which I was worried about because of flooding issues, but so far I haven't had any problems. I have a punch and so I will continue to experiment and even punch my own, overall thus far I'm content. I still prefer LR DCs for eGo type use, but the 2.0 SC's work great in the DCT for me anyway.

Thinking about ordering a LT. Thought about the VV twists but 2 of those are about the same price as one LT with 2 batteries.

A few questions:

nmd... I reread over the forum that I had read earlier and think I have the questions answered....
Looks like I'll get the 1.5t from vaporbeast if I still feel the same tonight.

Hmmm... K, I don't wanna dissuade you, AT ALL, because the LT is a great device, but I'm not 100% sure the VB model is a lrider. You might want to read this thread, last 10 pages or so. Some guys got into killer testing with a bunch of the new ones out, and turns out a few of the vendors are just spewing nonsense that the manuf told them, spec wise... some are totally inaccurate. So just in the interest of safety, read a little of this one to make sure you get what you want. Otherwise, if it turns out that ISN'T what you have in mind, I know CCV is getting the v2 tube, in chrome, with 2wice upgraded internals, within next few weeks or so. And honestly... NO WAY to express how much nicer the chrome/stainless tubes are, just in terms of heft and sturdiness. And then lrider is coming out with the true v3 (it'll be the only actual 4 amp tube, all the rest are inaccurate based on testing) in chrome in August. VB might be a good way to go.. I just don't remember because there's SO many vendors being bandied about right now. BUT i do know they tested that one extensively, and posted the results in this thread, so one way or another, you'll know before buying if its good for you, or not. Sorry to be a nervous nellie, I just want to make sure you know what you're getting, 100% since so many vendors have misinformation posted right now. Unfortunate, but a ton of the 'lrider clones' are being touted as WAY higher amp limit than they have, and there is that low power issue to contend with on others. You can also use 'thread tools' at the top to search for 'vapor beast' and see all there is to see. ;) Good luck, and let me know if I can help out in any possible way. Oh btw, best price I've found on the twist (650) is at discountvapers.com ... $23. Then Nhaler has a neat kit... only twist kit I've been able to hunt up (and someone sent me the link) with 2 twists, 1 650, 1 1000mah, and some other stuff for like $70. Don't get me wrong... as impressive as the twist sounds I still think you'd be better off with a good quality LT w ohm meter, decent amp restriction, and some 18650 panasonic ICRs, or 18650 AW IMRs and a good charger, like the Xtar WP2 II (pretty much my ideal setup for a new vv vaper who can't afford $212 for provari kit), but wanted to make sure you knew about those two deals on twist.

Yeah, there's really VERY little difference between the ST 2.0sc and 1.7ohm sc. I just get the 1.7s cause they're cheaper in the bundle at ccv. About the only major difference is the 1.7s have a little more pronounced throat hit. I like that since I vape 100% VG, so that extra TH is about the only TH I get. But if you vape a pg/vg blend, the difference is hardly noticeable. But the 2s are virtually identical. No way to isolate a specific carto to that specific resistance, anyway, so there's a range on all of em. Glad those 3 holes are working out for you. Most people have issues with em, but every once in a while I'll run into someone who has been blessed and they're working perfect. But the 'experience' is pretty dang similar with the single hole ones, so even if, god forbid, you do run into issues w 3 holes, the 1 hole are easy enough to find. And isn't it SO much better when you have a carto that you like in there? I'm happy so many people like the DC cartos, I just really dislike em. And its weird cause I'm the queen of adjectives, and I can't quite isolate what the thing is about the DC that throws me off. rofl That drives me nuts, cause I'd love to be able to explain it to people. But the single coils in the same ohms suit me about perfectly. ;) Oh, and I don't know if you still buy the dcs or not, but they just added a bundle on em in 15 carto deals at ccv, I just noticed.

AND everybody... I just found out you get double points on your ccv purchases EVERY TUESDAY... so those of you getting cartos and hardware there, tuesday is a good day to purchase. Those points add up. Every few mos or so I end up with a $5 gift cert, so its handy to have some free money back on purchases, esp when points accrue faster.
