Ok, so anyone who was considering the long haired CE4s at Discount Vapers (you know, I really shouldn't call them that. lol What they are is Discount vapers exclusive CE4s with longer wicks), they just went and made em significantly cooler. These are the new CE5.... slightly larger capacity, and the really cool part is that they have a rebuildable base, so you can change the wicks out etc. I believe they're gonna do replacable heads offered separately, as well. Eric does say these need a delicate hand, while you're messing with them, but then anything rebuildable is rather delicate around the coils and wicks. I'm definitely gonna be the guinea pig on these guys, just as soon as I have some dolla's to spend. These might not be ideal for brand new vapers, just cause there is a bit of 'modding' going on, but as long as you can follow instructions, you should be good. Eric usually gets vids out pretty quick showing how to do things. As a matter of fact, I was just chatting with someone yesterday and mentioned I picked up a pack of Fluval (you can buy giant bags cheap at any pet store... I just got a tiny bit from Eric to try it out first) and some inner fill from Discount Vapers on my last order. My goal is to actually replace the filler entirely on my filler cartos. He's got a video showing how. It requires those tiny straws like McDonalds has with their coffee, and you basically just build the new filler over the straw (that's over the centerhole of the carto) and slide it into place. I don't know why (I think its cause I start with Taryn spin fill for first time I fill cartos, and then keep them VERY wet) but I almost NEVER have a carto totally die on me. Its been mos and mos since a filler carto died. But what happens is I vape thick 100% VG, and eventually the vape gets anemic just cause the filler is gunked up. I've been cleaning them, but that's rather time consuming... so the attempt at replacing the filler might be easier. I'll let yall know how it goes. lol But anyway, thought some of you might be interested in this. Its rather similar to the Vivi Nova concept, only in a carto with an ego skirt (so you WILL need an adapter. With original and v 1.5 lavatubes, you'll need a 510 to ego adapter. With the new metal lavatubes with the not always functional ego connection, you'll need a 510 to 510 'shorty' adapter to use these new ce5s.) Anyway, I can personally attest to this particular vendor. He's amazing on the customer service. Most vendors I've dealt with are good... this guy is spectacular, and really stands behind his products. I've been startled at each order cause he occasionally drops in a little gift. Once I got a teeesy tiny flashlight (perfect for tiny beams for the cat to chase) and once a little hi bounce ball... but it surprises me whenever it happens. lol My cat loves when DV vapemail shows up. rofl
eGo CE5+ Rebuildable Clearomizer

aha! They do have the replaceable core.. they're here...
http://www.discountvapers.com/ego-ce5-rebuildable-core/

So at $5.99 for the original rebuildable carto, and $1.79 for the replacements, these are definitely less expensive than the Vivi's. I haven't tried either, yet, so can't speak to which is better. However, a friend of mine got some Vivi Novas from Altsmoke, and the ones he received didn't fit on most of his 510 connections. I've heard the Gotvapes version don't have that issue, but they are proving to be a bit of a troubleshooting intensive rebuildable tank, from what I've read. Any of you having any sorts of issues with your Vivi Novas, I know there is a great thread with lots of tips on care and feeding of them in the GotVapes forum. ;)

P.S. Orachel, had you thought about prettying up your profile page like we're all doing in TWR!! :)

lol... no i hadn't even seen the pretty profiles! Off to peek at yours, now. I'm rotten at all sorts of html code, though, so if its complicated, chances are I won't be able to pull it off. Hoping it's simple, though! I'm a mad crazy digital art nut, so I could come up with pretty cool backdrops and things for mine, assuming there's a template for it somewhere. Off to check. lol Boy you DO know how to capture my interest, don'cha? lol

And btw, I ADORE your flying pig avatar! A digital site I hang out at, www.Deviantscrap.com Sometime a while back, we all got obsessed with flying pigs. I actually just bought some adorable hand painted piggies that are acceptable for commercial use, just so i could put wings on em! rofl We call them 'The incredible flying hoo-ha'. rofl

Oh wow... yours is adorable! What a cool profile pic! I KNOW there's a way to change the backdrop cause I saw it on BMWJen's profile a way back. I have no idea how, though.. so if any of you come up with it, I'd love to hear how its done. I can definitely put up a profile pic in next few days, though. Other than that, what else can you decorate up in there?

Hiya, Orachel! Important stuff first: go to TWR thread Ladies let's get dressed up, or words to that effect. At the beginning, Classy (I think it is) gives basics on how to do this stuff, then there's some really good directions under forum faq. Everyone I know got their backgrounds from photobucket and sites like that. You can import your own photos, but I can't figure out how to downsize them to fit. My kids have promised a lesson the next time I visit! :) As far as difficult -- I am a computer DINOSAUR!!! If I can do it, ANYbody can!!! Seriously, I haven't known how to do anything but very basic end-user since DOS!!!!! And I HATE  learning new stuff on the computer -- got my fill of that during years of jobs that required it!! And of course I pestered the gals in TWR with question after question before I figured it out! :)

Second important item: I collect flying pigs -- have for 6 or 8 years. There's something about them that just so d---:censored: cute!!! I have everything from a tiny one sealed in a plexiglass "worry stone" to a HUGE hand-carved wooden one someone brought me from Indonesia -- bout 3 ft. long and 3 ft. tall wings and all!!! :) Wire, ceramic, glass, stone, cast iron, you name it!! Just LOVE those little guys! I got my avi photo from photobucket -- they have TONS of them, but, like I said, I can't figure out how to downsize and the vast majority were too big. I'm happy with mine, tho! :) After I learn how to downsize, I hope to use a photo of one of pigs for my avi! And my "portrait"? ;) I think it's a little on the flattering side -- not sure I still look that good!! roflmao

Okay, now that I've properly prioritized  -- on to the vv! It apparently IS the carto because after the reverse spin, I set it all back up and it worked fine just long enough for the carto to flood. Talked to the guys at Vapor9 and they agreed and are sending me a couple of cartos gratis!! We had trouble connecting this round (V9 and me) but those guys are GREAT!! They're our main supplier and have been reeeeeeeally good to us! :) Everything we've bot from them so far has FAR outlasted life expectancy, so the quality's there, too. Oh, and the cartos are Smoktech and I understand those are good!?!?

Thanks again a MIL for all your help!! :)

FunnyFarm, you ROCK! Thanks so much for the info on where to go for the how tos.... I've got graphics coming out of my ears, so once I find out what size it should be, and have a bit of time to put something together, I'll be golden. I'll pm you to get hold of whatever you want the bg size at that point to be, and just fix size on it for ya and send it back. If you know offhand the size you need, just pm me with it and I'll give you my email to send image. ;) I can do that right away, I just don't know the size, yet. And as for dolling up my own, I'll get to that soon, but probably not for a day or two. Thanks so much, and SO thrilled you got your carto mess straightened out. Sounds like the hole is just too darn big, or perhaps broke thru the plastic 'tube' that the vapor comes up. I've no doubt you'll be golden when you get your spares. AWESOME that your vendor is being so cool about it. I just got into a HUGE brouhaha with a vendor we all know and love with the initial A... hoping it gets resolved, but if not... just goes to show you, not all vendors are master of support. rofl I'm pretty easy going about stuff like that, but I'll only be pushed SO far, and then I get growly and push right back. lol

Received my mini crome vtube today! Thrilled to pieces with it now... had to contact the vendor about the 'fire' button sticking... thankfully got it resolved.. now just waiting on my dct tank and 3.0 ohm cartos (and some new juices)! Using the Vivi Nova right now but not completely thrilled with it. It's great when it works.. looking forward to the new heads they will be coming out with.. they should work a helluva lot better (I hope)!

Vape On you funky vapors! :vapor:

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but since im pretty new to this, i really wouldnt know if it applies to my situation or not, thx in advance.....( i bought everything from apollo-as for brands )

I just ordered 2 kits, one red-mini LT for my gf and a full size chrome LT for myself. I also ordered 2 6-ml dual coil tanks and some 510 dual coil replacement cartos, also a ego adaptor for the mini ( chrome comes with one ).

My question is, what should i order and from who to get the very best experience from our lava tubes? We will probably upgrade our tanks to either phiniac or bella tanks, anyone have a preference to either one? And it seems to me that a good tank carto seems to be key, what would you suggest?
Thanks again

Yay! Auntiemom!! So glad yours arrived!

And Lava_Man... So cool you and your gf are vaping together! Ok, as for cartos... I'd read the first page, post #8... its REALLY long, but gives a bunch of links and things to the cartos that most of us are using on these. My suggestions are all in there, along with why, and what the alternatives are. As for inside the tanks, my fave cartos for in there are the 'pre punched and plated' 1.7ohm smoktech single coil resurrectors that Andrew sells at CCV. I just like the experience WAY better, personally, than the same size dual coil smoktech carto, especially on the metal LT with the airy draw. The other option for inside the tank are XL boge 2.0ohm cartos, or for vaping at the highest voltages, xl boge 3.0s... but those aren't available punched and plated, so you need to buy either a carto punch, or a '1/4in self piercing saddle valve' at any home improvement store (usually in the plumbing supplies) so you can punch your own cartos. As for the pricey tanks... both of those options are amazing, and I put a few links to a few other ones that are flat out gorgeous as well (the wooded tanks at discount vapers, made by the incomparable Lewis Gentry are amazing)... but my suggestion is to acclimate to your budget tanks first. Some people REALLY don't like tanks much at all, and find they're fine with an XL sized carto, like an xl boge, 1.7ohm resurrector, or a smoktech dual coil (though the cartos at 1.25 and 1.5ohms are REALLY not the best choice on this device). Others are falling in love with the big honkin' jumbo cartos, like the jumbo resurrectors that are available at ccv. Those come at a great price in the 'black' coating at ccv or are also available at a larger price, but in the stainless coating, at Welcome to SmokTek, LLC - The Better Smoking Alternative - Your source for personal vaporizers, e-cig supplies and e-liquids You can't really tell in the photo, but those are HUGE... hold about 2.5-3ml of juice, same as a small tank, just in the carto. The vape on those is pretty darn similar to the regular resurrectos, so if you like those, chances are you'll like the jumbo/xxl variety of them, and also the punched and plated variety that go in a dual coil tank.
XXL ReJuvenator 1.7 ohm low resistance single coil cartomizer
again, the ccv ones are MUCH cheaper, and come with free shipping and a drip tip, but they don't have the stainless ones in stock in the jUmbo yet... just the black.

Now, as for me... I do about 7/10ths of my vaping on a 1.7ohm resurrector/rejuvinator, sometimes in /sometimes out of a tank, usually at about 4.3v. I also use the XL boge at 2.0ohms in the midrange voltages, and the XL boge at 3.0ohms, but only when I'm vaping at the very highest voltages. Anyway, hope that epic long post on the first page helps ya. Yell out if you need any help!

and btw, I wasn't very clear... but the links to the other stuff I mentioned is in that post #8 on first page. ;) And post #37, on the 4th page, has a ton more links and descriptions. ;)

cincinnati, oh
Come to Cincinnati aka Porkopolis. We even have a flying pig marathon. So does anyone drip with their lt? I was mainly an atty user until my lt, but they seem to flood more on my lt. So I have been shopping for something I like ever since. Got some cartos from halo that were pretty good, then thought I should try a tank. Got that from madvapes and their cartos have 3 holes... way too many for me. Plugged 2 holes still eventually flood. Halo is pretty thin pg juice, is that my problem? It will be a year this month off those analogs. Want to try the vivi, then saw that from Orachel about that ce5. Hmm...

Oh, Orachel, thanks again for allllllll your help!! :) I've got my hands full right now with physical therapy etc. (busted knee I had surgery on, but it's doing GREAT), but I'll get back to the photo thing and I'll "holler atcha," as we say in Texas!! lol In the meantime, if you get started on yours, you can pester the ladies at TWR with YOUR questions for a while! :D They know tons more than me!

oh fer crying out loud! lol I just wrote a long reply to you, chrisz, but then ecf timed out and it killed it. lol I'll come back tomorrow and try again when its not 2.30 am. rofl

And Lavaman... not 100% sure what a v2 is, offhand. There's a lot of v2's flying around vapeland, but I'm sure you'll be MUCH happier with the lavatubes. There's just no comparison between a small penstyle or ego type fixed voltage/3.7v device and the extra oomph and customizing you can get with a decent VV unit. And for the price, lavatube is fantastic. There's a few other low priced options floating around, but they're all VERY new, and as someone who got burned too many times on the 'very new thing' with a vv unit, you can't go wrong with lavatube for the money. If you guys are brand new to vaping, then some of the terminology we throw around might be the tiniest (ahem! lol) bit confusing. There is a sorta lingo that you pick up. So feel free to ask anything you need. There's no stupid questions, and we've all been beginners, k? And yeah, we all felt like our heads were gonna pop off with all the info to absorb as well. There is NOTHING wrong with taking it very slow and basic, either, if you get overwhelmed. So just don't hesitate to ask for any help you need. I think most of the new vapers we lose back to the evil butts are because they just can't get set up with gear that satisfies, so that's what we're here for.

And heck yeah, I'm with you, FunnyFarm! Flying pigs en masse! I'm so there! rofl Really freaky thing is I've spent my fair share of time in Cincinnati/Louisville area, and never even heard of the flying pig fetish going on there! lol

Orachel, I just ordered 15 of the 1.7 ohm jumbos from crystal, thnx for the info......last question for now lol, got our kits today and waited what seemed like forever for my battery to charge ( gf's mini charged in like 30 mins ) but I'm noticing it takes a second or so after I hit the fire button before it does anything? Is that normal?

rofl... Lava_Man... I'm not sure. Lemme check... ok, I think what might be going on is you're not depressing your button ALL the way down. Sometimes people report misfires and odd fires on the LT, and its all about the button press. Really push that sucker down as far as you can and lets see how it goes. ;) Lemme know! Oh, and yeah, there's a HUGE difference in charge time between the 18350 batt, and the 18650. Don't worry, though, its worth it in the battery life. The minis are cute, though! lol

And Toweknee... good for you! Yeah, that not firing on resurrectors thing was all sorts of odd. One tiny component goes odd, and then they don't like the low res stuff. My friend got stuck with an overpriced E-power, which is just a little 3.7vmod, and he can't use anything under 3ohms on it. Its all about that little switch thing in there. I don't know what its called, or what it does (thank goodness we have some super helpful people here that do, though! lol) but it can make a pv near unusable when it goes awry. So I'm pretty confident once you get it back, you'll have much better luck. I think Volcano just swaps em out, actually, so you'll get a whole new one.

And chrisz... I'll be back in just a sec with take 2 on your reply. lol I was having bad forum karma last night, I think. ;)

Ok, take 2, chrisz.... yeah, I'm excited about the replaceable ce5+, too. Gonna grab one for sure on my next discount vapers order. Eric says the manufacturer told him it was upgraded plastic, too... good since I managed to break 2 'unbreakable' ce4s. lol Anyway, yeah, the 3 hole cartos are a definite issue. Was an issue for my friend, and he was using MUCH thicker juice than you were... a mid thickness 100% Vg... still flooded like crazy. I don't know WHY this would be an issue, but I did notice at Welcome to SmokTek, LLC - The Better Smoking Alternative - Your source for personal vaporizers, e-cig supplies and e-liquids that the owner, Rob, wrote in the description for the 3 hole cartos (for 3.7v). Again, not sure what voltage has to do with it, but apparently its a factor. Drives me CRAZY, cause I would LOVE if my cartos came with an option for 2 machine punched holes. I think that would be about perfect, but so far, the three holes aren't working for anyone that I've spoken to. Work great at first, but then flood, and stay flooded, almost immediately thereafter. I occasionally use a saddle valve to punch a second hole, but that can be problematic for me. Plus, I can tell the difference between the self punched and the machine punched cartos in the vape... maybe somethng about the compression of the carto body, squishing the filler? I don't know, but for me, its an issue. You may want to give that a whirl, though if you definitely want more than 1 hole, and the 3 isn't an option. lol I'd try the 1 holes, first, though. With a thin PG juice it should be perfect. I vape really thick 100% VG, so that's why I'm wanting the second hole so badly. ;)

As far as atties... I'm not a huge atty user. About the only time I use them consistently is when I'm mixing diy juices. BUT from time to time my tastebuds decide my juices aren't strong enough, and then I want to drip. My friend, Rickajho, is the guy I turn to for advice on atties. He actually just emailed me yesterday about this new atty he's in love with. He uses a variable voltage box mod most often, and its an ego atty, so it needs an adapter (may or may not need an adapter on the stainless/chrome/copper models..some ego gear works on, some requires an adapter.... If it doesn't work by itself, then the adapter i link to below will make it work. And will DEFINITELY need a 510 to ego adapter on the original and v 1.5 lavatubes). So anyway, Rick says the 'surface' of this atty is way way larger than a standard 510 atty, so its a much bolder experience and you have to drip less often. He also said he enjoys the ego mega CARTRIDGE (not carto!) that goes with them, with a cigar tip. Its a traditional cartridge, in that it has only compressed poly fill designed to hold the juice in proximity to the atomizer, so you vape for a long long time between fills, similar to a carto. Anyway, this is all OLD vaping technology, but very much updated, and sounds really intriguing. I may well try one of these big honking ego mega attys, along with a set of mega cartridges, next time I need an atty. From the way he described it, seems like it would be pretty ideal for diy mixing, or someone who wants juice on an atty and doesn't wanna drip every 2 minutes. lol He said the filler pulls right out of the cartridge, so you can wash it, dry it, rinse out the cartridge, and stick it right back in there, if you want to switch flavors, or if you use a thick juice that has a tendency to clog filler cartos. And then of course you can always get some 'Fluval' or blue aquarium foam at the pet store, and replace filler entirely (though I've just been warned, so I'm warning you guys... ALWAYS ALWAYS wash the bejesus out of anything the modding community here suggests to replace filler. Very important. And then let it dry... then its ok to use). Its the most intriguing sounding atty I've heard of in some time. So that might work for you. Again, I myself have not tried it yet, but Rick was raving about it. And he knows I'm broke, so doesn't tell me about something on the pricey side unless its fantastic. rofl

Ok, so here's the link and a few details he told me about them. The cartridges that go with them (sold separately, but link is right there on this page) hold 2.5ml.... so it'll go for half to most of day, depending on how much you vape, assuming you use the cartridges that go with them (regular 510 cartridges won't work, way too small). He says its 'not your run of the mill atty experience... you will get buzzed off these... and huge vapor production'. He also said they have 3x the surface area of a regular 510 atty. You can see they're a good 2x cost of normal atty... (he says this vendor is great, and terrific at helping new vapers, but I personally have never ordered from them. He has, a good 15x, with never an issue, though.)
https://www.cignot.com/product_p/ego-mat-all.htm

Ok... now just to be clear... if you're using the original Lavatube, or the new v 1.5, both with the standard body type and 510 connection, you will need a '510 to Ego' adapter to use that atty or atty and cartridge. You can find these at a ton of vendors... cignot probably carries them, so you might be able to pick em up when you get atty.
Adapter - 510 Battery to eGo Cartomizer

If you're using the metal Vtubes, like stainless/chrome/copper... they have a semi functional ego connection. So its very possible that they may fit the lavatubes just fine. This looks like an original ego product, and many of those fit with no adapter. But also possible it may require one of these in order to screw on (like the ce4, ego stardust).
Adapter - 510 to 510 Cartomizer

Ok, and i'll be back in a little while (in rachel time thats a few hours. lol) with some photos of my stainless with a bunch of adapters on it, and how they look with different cartos and tanks. A bunch of you have been asking, and i figure YOU know how you want your pv to look, so taking a bunch of pics, and you guys can decide what to use if you'd like to tighten up the draw on your stainless/chrome/copper tubes.

Just watched a very cool review vid by the incomparable SteelJan (I love her... she REALLY puts things thru the paces, and as a retired engineer, she explains HOW things work... so if you're looking for good reviews, her channel is a killer one to subscribe to) about the new Gotvapes Phoenix clearomizers with the bottom coil design. I wasn't very excited about these, but after listening to SteelJan, I can't wait to try these out. They're just over mid 2's in ohms, so you'll be able to get them pretty high up in voltage if you wanna, but she's showing how amazing they vape at 3.7v, so you may not need to. And she did everything possible to get them to leak and break, and nothing... just great vape. Plus she showed how they don't make the juice all dark and sludgy, which is one of my main complaints about clearomizers. So those of you on the hunt for perfect clearomizers may wanna check this review out. And thanks so much to BMays for telling me about it. Now I'm lusting for them too! lol And whatever you do... DONT buy them before you watch the vid... or I should say don't try to fill em before. If you fill em wrong, they leak like crazy. If you fill em right, totally leakproof.

I checked my " button fire technique" and its not me lol.... It only does it if i let it sit for a couple mins ( or longer ) but ill hold the button and nothing for about 1 1/2 - 2 seconds, then the familiar cracking sound... Now if i use it within 30 seconds or so of my last vape it fires up fine as soon as i depress the button? Ive changed batteries and have experimented with the bottom cap to no avail

Hmm... I'm hoping someone a bit more techie than me steps in on this one. Bmays is coming to visit us... possible he might know. My suggestion is live with it for a day or two (assuming noone steps in and says this is a known error with some) and then ask for a replacement. I know that is SO not what you want to hear. I'm in the same boat, as I got a chrome cap with my stainless, and the whole unit has to be swapped. Ug. But cross fingers someone who knows what facet of the internals might be causing that comes along, and maybe if we're lucky it'll have a simple fix. (crossing fingers)
