I checked my " button fire technique" and its not me lol.... It only does it if i let it sit for a couple mins ( or longer ) but ill hold the button and nothing for about 1 1/2 - 2 seconds, then the familiar cracking sound... Now if i use it within 30 seconds or so of my last vape it fires up fine as soon as i depress the button? Ive changed batteries and have experimented with the bottom cap to no avail

I purchased a LT back in December. So I do not know what has changed. You might try cleaning the outside threads of the battery cap and the inside threads where the cap fits into the tube. The threads on mine are aluminum. I use a small wire brush to clean mine. When they get fouled they cause mine to hit intermittently. After cleaning all is well.....:)

Hmmm... I'd say give it tonite, and then if noone pops in with an explanation of what might be happening, I'd ask in the main 'lavatube' forum, as well as the 'apollo update thread for stainless vtube' (or something to that effect. lol). I'd just like to get you an answer as to whether this is a known issue, with a known fix, or if its something that has to go back. Really hoping for the former. And hey, you never told us... when it DOES fire, are you getting more enjoyment out if it than you were your v2s?

I'm catching the tale end of this so I may be way off here but......What carto setup are you using? I ask because I have had several that "seem" to do exactly what you are discribing and I found that it was actually firing, just not making sound yet. I sucked (actually "pulled" is prob a better term) on the carto one time when I thought it was not working and it was. Just an idea, You could try a different carto just as a test.

This is my take on what is happening. If you let the coil coil off a minute or two It takes a little time .5 -.8 sec. for the coil to reheat to where it was when vaping and vaping and vaping. with mine it does the same thing. heat some thing up and it dosen't take as long to keep it heated as it would to let it cool and then reheat it. Just my opinion but I think that is normal.

carto's are slower to heat when they have sat for a while because the coils are soaked and because they are colder. After a couple puffs you should get the crackle almost instantly. Heavy VG juices tend to not crackle as badly as high PG juices. A hefty sizzle is actually better than a pop as it implies that the juice has good surface contact with the coil.

My LT at its best sounds like a pan full of bacon frying :) mmmmm...bacon.....

You know, I didn't even consider that the atty was the culprit... I was thinking just tube. That makes a lot of sense, actually. Hope it all gets straightened out!

And Elb7!! How exciting! Wow, you definitely picked a winner for your first! Can I ask where you got it? Trying to keep my eye on the vendors selling the v 1.5 and the v2. If you don't know offhand, no worries.

And I owe you guys a HUGE apology... been promising photos for a few days now with all the adapters. I finally did all the work, took all the pics of all the adapters on the tube with a ton of different cartos on each, so you know which one to order so it looks the way you want. Got all excited and was gonna put em on my first blog post (there's A LOT of photos, and don't wanna blow out this thread. lol) and then realized they're all too big for the forum. And its 4 am now, and I promise I'll get em up for you first thing, rachel time, tomorrow. ;) But they're all done... just need to be posted, promise!

Ok guys... Better late than never.... Wish there was a way to add this to the opening post, but if anyone asks about adapters, and I'm MIA, hoping someone will point out this blog post.

Took all the photos and explained which cartos will work with which adapters, if you're wanting to tighten up the draw, or just to make all your ego cartos work perfectly.

You know, I got that when I tested the link in the apollo thread, but then when I clicked it again, it worked fine. Hoping its just an ecf glitch. Seems to be working now, as I just now did it 3x in a row to test. I'd try again, and If anyone else has an issue, yell out... There's always the chance I somehow published it wrong. rofl Would be a me thing to do. ;) Every once in a while pages just don't connect, so hoping that's it.

Oh crapola... sorry guys! I'll see what I can do to straighten it out. Thinking I must not have hit 'publish' properly or something if I can see it and you cannot. I WILL get to the bottom of it, though, or just move all 10 photos over here if that doesnt work. lol That's what I get for trying to do first blog post for something this important.

And lavaman.... yeah, actually your 'best batts' are a pain in the tail to find, but soon will be easy. There's only one place that has them so far, and its non vape related. BUT in the next week or two they'll be showing up at DiscountVapers - Your source for savings on electronic cigarettes and accessories, Go-go eGo, vGo. What you want for very safest chemistry/longest life for your 18650s are these 'Panasonic IMR hybrid 18650s' with the flat top, not the button top upgrade. They're 2200mah (means way longer life than the 1600mah ones that came with your kit. Plus, they're this new safer chemistry imr hybrid, only avail in the wooly mammoth sized 18650, so far (i think... anyone found the panny hybrid imrs in any other sizes?). Anyway, that's probably all gobbledygook to you right now, but the important thing to remember is when you want spare batts, get those pannys. ;) AW brand IMR 18650s are also excellent, though... just not quite the brand new innovation that the Pannys are just yet, and a slightly lower mah, which means they won't last quiiite as long as the panny's. Ones you both got in the kit are fine, they're just not the highest mah/longest life/best of the best.

Now for your girlfriend, so far, I BELIEVE that the very safest longest lasting ones that'll fit comfortably in her mini-tube are the AW IMR 18350s... lemme go hunt up the best link or two for you.. be back asap, unless someone else pops up with one, first. ;)

Also, and i know this is such a pain in the tail.... both of your batteries would do MUCH better in a 'smart' charger, rather than the one that came with your kit. They go for 'low cost', not necessarily 'longest overall life and safest charging' on chargers they put in kits. Plus, I'm just sticking my toe in the 'best chargers and safest batts' category (after a near house fire incident that scared the tail off me....WAS not the included charger that was the culprit though, but another that i had, a trustfire.).... but after about a week's constant research, asking a ton of trusted sources, watching and reading more reviews than I EVER wanted to about batt safety etc, I found a charger, at a ridiculous low cost, that is supposedly NEAR as good as the $50 Pila brand chargers that everyone raves about. Its the 'WP2 II' charger at DV. Let me grab you a link for that right now. Now noone's saying you need to run out just this second to buy a new charger, by any means. I know you're just getting started vaping, and I PROMISE the cost goes way down after you have these initial kits and supplies. BUT it is a good idea, in the future, to invest in a good charger. Pila's are the best... they're also $45-$50 for a 2 batt charger. WP2 II 2 batt charger ($19) or WP6 II (6 batt charger $33) is a heck of a good choice. It doesn't have the same potential to heat the batts up way too hot so they become dangerous to use, or in worst case, actually vent (and that's why you want IMR batts.. if worst comes to worst they vent, don't explode. They don't have the same protections as 'protected batteries' but are by and large considered safest by most people because they're a much safer/more stable chemistry. AND they'll have much better life on your high drain device, like a vv lavatube/vtube). If you guys live together, I can tell you that I run a minimum of 4 mods at any one time, and the 2 batt charger is just fine for me, so would work for you guys. I've had mine about 2 weeks now, and i love it. Best thing... it charges any rechargable battery under 70mm long (with the included spacers) so that covers any mod batt you'd ever need to charge now, then or way the heck in the future. Its handy to have one charger that works for everything. I had..um.... 6 cheapo chargers spread all around a room, each one could charge just one sized batt. Was a housefire waiting to happen. lol Scary, but true. Also, here's a link to a review of the WP2 II... this is the "mod lady"...she's a bright one... good person to listen to.
XTAR WPII Battery Charger - YouTube

Here's the link to the WP2 II 2 batt charger
Xtar WP2 II Charger
and the 6 batt charger (in case you're a batt charging maniac. lol)
Xtar WP2 II Charger

and again, those are just for you to have, make note of, so in the future when you're ready to be super safe with chargers, you've got them. I don't have the link for the Pila's, but I know a ton of places sell em, so a search for 'pila, charger, vape' will lead you to one if you wanna go for the Mercedes of chargers. ;) I'll be back with good link for your girlfriend's 18350 imrs in just a few.

Ok, back. Here's some great sources for AW Brand IMR batteries in any size. Hoping most of these guys have the 18350 size you need for the mini, but if not, Wonderlite has EVERYTHING. lol You have to pay thru paypal with him, though. Here's his link. The first post explains how he works. I personally haven't ordered from him, but I've heard rave reviews by a ton of people. He's considered one of the best ecf vendors for AW IMRs, and certainly has the best selection.

Wonderlite
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ers-exporters-america-shipping-worldwide.html

Two other common referrals for AW IMRs.. they won't have the size selection that wonderlite does, and not 100% confident they'll carry or have in stock the 18350s right now, but you may well want to price shop, so they're good options.

Lighthound (i believe this is a flashlight/hobbyist place, not an ecf vendor... but lots of good reviews)
http://www.lighthound.com/AW-IMR18650-1600mAh-LiMN-rechargeable-lithium-battery_p_2797.html

And Super T Manufacturing... great ecf reviews on these guys
