Ok, this is driving my nutters....you ask 5 Canadian Vapers and i am getting back 15 Answers...

This is the Lambo/L-Rider/Knight Rider/Shinny boom boom Stick/Dragons Breath(need a universal name and stick with it seriously!)

Of Course here are the batteries;

A) I do not have the original Charger for it
B) I have a Trustfire TR-001 and Xtar Wp6II
C) I charge then via the Xtar wp6 II Charger

Now: Is the trust fire Tr-001 better to charge these batteries with or is the Xtar? And what is the best charging practices with them? I mean i pull the battery out and put a new one in when it reaches 3.2V (as it is not to go below 2.5V before charging?), I have heard from people that you can use them until the ....lets call it mod....cannot power the cart/tank/clearo any longer and the screen will flash (?)

I know it is not the official whatever name and comes Yung-Jung (say that five times fast) so i am curious is all

never mind, it would appear the coffee kicked in and the other eye is now open, and reading further in this part of the forum, a healthy practice of buying another few batteries and letting them discharge to about 3.5V would be my best option

Wow these cartos that Volcano give you are absolute garbage! The one I have the hole is WAY too big so all it does is flood. The other one the hole is way too small so I constantly have to drip into the carto to not get a harsh, cottony taste. I can't wait till I get a cartomator with a boge carto. I can't even enjoy a good vape with this....

orachel, and timoody27,
Well orachel, you were right again! timoody, I bought the vivi Nova tank and love it on my chrome LT WHEN IT WORKS; which is definately NOT all the time. I first got it and tried it with the head that was installed on it for shipping. NOTHING!! It turns out that head (I found out on disassembly) had no wire (coil) at all. I replaced that head and tried again. Great plumes of vapor, good throat hit, and most importantly Great flavor. I could taste juices that I thought were tasteless using cartos. I installed the tank on my chrome L-Rider LT (L-Rider v2- actually the same innards as L-Rider v1) with no extra adapters or cones or anything. Last night I tried to use the tank again and for some unknown reason it did not work. I measured the resistance and got 32 ohms which is basically dead. I took it apart, found nothing wrong, reassembled it and it worked great again. Now, none of my problems ever had anything to do with the draw. It was always good.
So, as orachel pointed out I am spending way too long troubleshooting this thing and not enough time vaping with it. But when it works I am blown away by the flavor it delivers.
timoody, I suggest you make sure you are not using a tank cone or any other adapter, change the head and try again.
It might not be worth all the effort, but when it works, it works well. Great Flavor!
orachel, waiting for my excalibur tank and all my new flavors. I'll let you know what I think when they arrive.

Ok, so I'm reading stuff everywhere, and found a post... God knows where, that says if you don't have a red fire button, you don't have an lrider lt. Is this true? Also Errol, I hope you're right about ccv getting replacements. Been waiting patiently.

Appears your wait is over Chris. :)

As for the red fire button I read that from a fairly reliable source and it appears to be correct. Every LT picture I've looked and know which is which the Lrider always had a red button, the others didn't.

I'm into RC nitro trucks and my old man does Heli's. They all use some sort of rechargeable and some of them various types. I use this to charge my 18650's.

Duratrax® IntelliPeak ICE Charger | 88X

Charge time you ask? 30 minutes for a full charge. :p

You set the battery type (Li-Ion), the voltage (3.7), the mAh capacity (1600.....soon to be 2000 when I get my new AW's!), and go. None of this 6 hours crap/chinese wall chargers. Won't over volt or over charge.

The lavatube is really nice considering that it won't run the battery completely dead (that is bad for the battery). After it quits working on me i get about 1300-1400 mAh into the battery with a full charge. Final volt rating around 4.110.

I think I have to disagree about the red fire button. I just bought a chrome LT from Hoosierecig.com. Brent, the owner, states it is an L-Rider V2, which has the same innards as an L-Rider V1 but has metal caps, chromed metal body, different 510 connector and a CHROME fire button. This tube has a solid heavy feel, a clear (red) display and the chrome fire button is a very clicky, positive feel button that has not failed even once in the week and a half I have used it. This tube DOES have a red function button ( the small middle button that lights up the screen and allows you to use the two other small buttons to adjust the voltage, check battery voltage and turn it on and off). Perhaps that is the button that all L-Rider LTs have that is red.

This charger, while probably great for modELING is a bit of overkill for mods. The cheapest I could find it new was close to $90 and it seems to only have terminals for battery packs, not for single cell batteries. I am a fan of the xtar WPll, which at $19 shipped, does all I need a charger to do and leaves me with $70 for juice, cartos, tanks and even another mod.

K... just to clear things up... we're talking about the tiny 'power on/power off' button being red on Lrider units, not the firing button, right? Just wanted to check on that. BUT that is killer knowledge.. no more wondering if something is or isn't lrider for me. THANK you guys for that tip!

Second... a friend of mine just got his stainless LT, and he's having the exact same issue with the Vivi Nova not making contact and refusing to fire. Told him to come here cause someone else was having the issue... I'm remembering that it was tlmoody, but might be wrong. Whoever you were (lol Stupid fibro foggy brain I have), could you show us a link or something to the adapter that you're using that makes it work on your chrome/stainless LT? You were calling it a 'thread cover' and I'm assuming it was the 3.5ml tank cone (like the one pictured in my blog entry), but am not 100% sure. I'm telling him to get an Apollo/Excalibur if he likes the looks of it to save himself some trauma, but still, would be nice if his novas worked on his tube, for sure. ;) And yeah, videodave... the say 12-15 people I've talked to who like both the Nova and the Apollo/e2/excalibur seem to agree that the E2 is less fuss and muss, more consistent and more flavor, so hoping that turns out to be the case for you. I've played a bit with a friend's Nova, but never actually vaped with one. Always meant to get one, but then the troubleshooting info started coming out on em, and I just can't troubleshoot vape gear to save my life. lol So I knew that wouldn't be a good fit for me. BUT they are 'fixable' if you're a little on the techie side... I know gotvapes has a thread all about making them work well, so you guys having trouble with your Vivi's might wanna check that out. Also, apparently the E2 is rebuildable as well if you're willing to mess with it a bit. Lord Davon did a special on them on a vape tv program live, which I missed (doh!), so hoping someone does some youtube vids on rebuilding them pretty soon. But till then, the innards are reasonably priced, so I'll just keep replacing them. ONLY issues I've run into with mine is its not fond of thick 100% VG juice, so I'll either thin my juice down, or use it with a very thin 100% VG, like Virgin Vapor, or Highbrow. But never heard of any wicking problems whatsoever on a pg/vg blend, so most of you won't run into that issue. Was totally my mistake. I know better than to use a thick juice in a clearotank... just did the full on brain fry maneuver. lol

orachel,
The question about the red button was actually the firing button but I think we decided that that "rule of thumb" went out the window when the chrome L-Rider came out.
As far as the Vivi Nova tank goes, each time I've had a problem it has been a different problem; so I've actually learned nothing that can be used as a "rule" to fix it. Rebuilding the heads could be a cool thing I would enjoy but not as a fix for a malfunction. I saw a video with someone rebuilding one with a pure cotton wick which he said was great tastewise; but when mine works I think it has the best taste of anything I have ever vaped anyway. One of the good things about rebuilding is you can change the resistance of a head by changing the guage of the wire or by the number of loops you wind into the head, so actually you can make it any resistance you want depending on how many volts you want to vape with. My tank has had problems other than not making contact (except for the first time when they let a head pass through "quality control" with no wire (coil) at all. I guess you could say that time it "didn't make contact" because there was nothing to make contact to. lol.
Just BTW, we are having a Central Florida meet-and-greet on July 21st, which happens to be Lord Davon's birthday, but he is going to join us in the afternoon anyway and spend some "family time" in the evening. I didn't know he lives around here until I found the local Facebook Group.
Both my tank order and my juice order have been shipped so it's now a matter of stalking the "mail carrier". Soon I hope.
Thalk to you sooon.

Here's the link you asked for. Yes, it is a 3.5ml tank cone. Hope this helps.

I posted a thread in the tank section about this but wanted to post it here too... I bought a vivi nova and just tried to use it with my SS LT but I can't draw off of it. There is no draw at all, no air getting through it feels like. Could it be because of the ego adapter that is on the SS LT? I got it to work if I put the ego thread cover on it but I thought using the thread cover would make the draw tighter. Anyone know why it won't work without the thread cover?

Love the way it looks with the purple vivi nova though...View attachment 111607

I should be getting one in the mail today, so I'll check it out.

Hey Rachel and anyone else who might care, Vaporgod juice is currently 30% off with coupon summer30. Their juice is pretty cheap normally so an additional 30% off makes them cheaper than any site I've found. In addition all of their equipment is 10% off no coupon required, and I'm not sure if you can piggyback the 20% (ECF20) coupon on that or not, but again worth looking at. They have a decent selection of cartos at great prices and a free bottle of juice with any 5 pack purchase.

Thanks for the correction Dave, it's good to know, won't be spreading that rumor anymore. :)

Agreed on the extra cash vs. buying it new. Could pick one up on another forum for modELING (that was a good one ;)) at half the cost. Again though, it was already laying around for our other toys. I use the alligator clips with a battery holder.

Might have gone overkill but I took a 510-510 adapter, put a 510-ego adapter on that and then put the flared tank sleeve on it. I tried just the 510-510 but didnt like the way it looked.
