Hey everyone,
Just so you all know, orachel, the founder and keeper of this thread is having some temporary medical issues. She is doing better and hopes to be back to full force shortly. Here's what she had to say yesterday evening about contacting her:

orachel said:
Hey, could you maybe tell everyone hi, and that since I'm not monitoring threads like i usually do, if anyone needs me, pm is about the best way to get me. I'm trying to check email a few x a day come heck or high water, though. Miss you guys!

Hopefully, any real noobs have had your questions answered by those of us who have learned some stuff from orachel; and there is a ton of info in the almost 700 posts in this thread. But keep asking and someone will try to help you out.

orachel, we miss you and hope and pray for your speedy return!

No, well yes if you want! But it is NOT needed!

Here is how to use the Vivi Nova V2 (air hole above the 510 threads, not on knurled ring that makes up bottom of tank) with the chrome or SS Lavatube (L-Rider V2) WITHOUT an adapter (510-510 shorty) or 3.5ml tank cone.

You should only need to follow these directions once. After that you will know where to point.

1, put a mark on the lower knurled bottom ring of the tank (I used a Sharpie) directly over the air hole.

2. screw the knurled bottom ring on to (or actually into) the Lava Tube (Vtube) firmly but not tighter than where it stops.

3. either mark the place where the first mark rests on the top of the LT or (if your lucky) it will line up with a button.

4. simply turn the slit (groove?) in the brass colored center pin to that mark (or place).

Now you should have perfect air flow. Mine is not too tight, not too airy. Each time you want to put your tank on your LT simply turn that slit to the same spot. If you used a mark you will soon learn where the spot is in reference to something. For instance my spot is approx. 1/8 inch to the right of the right edge of the fire button.

OR use an adapter or tank cone. But I knew it could be done!!

Well since I couldn't get this to work with my beat up one, I got 2 new vivi nova tanks and still can't seem to get this method to work on my SS mini

I couldn't get that to work either, but then my brass pin moved off the mark when I unscrewed it anyhow. So it wouldn't stay. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding something. But I do have an adapter now, so my vivi is working.

Hi Deb, Good to see you got your parts so you can use your favorite vaporizer. :)

Hey guys! Just popped in a for a sec to say thanks for well wishes. Starting to feel a lil better, lil by lil. Hopefully, over next few days i'll see what I missed. Its a lot, clearly! Hope you're all doing well, and can't wait to be back hanging out with ya'll!

BTW, quick question... anyone tried either Chocolate Chip Cookie or Pumpkin Pie by Copper Creek? Reviews look awesome, but figured I'd ask you guys before I bit the bullet. Not sure how their 100% VG is, either.

Oh, and fyi, barely been doing much, but just today played with my phoenix bottom coil.... VERY cool! I dont get quite the taste that I get with a good atty, or even a good filler carto, but much much better than most clearo type things. Easiest clearo ever to use, and so far, very consistent solid performance even at very low voltages. ;) Definitely like em!

And in case anyone is into Vapors-Choice juices as much as I am, they're now available with extra flavor (few different levels), sweetener, and up to 60ml bottles ($3-$19). Just got my 60ml Caramel Apple today, since that's an all day vape I adore. And tried a small bottle of Strawberry Banana, which is rather good. Tastes just like a snapple. lol

Hope you're all vaping happy, and will be back as soon as I can sit up more than 10mins at a stretch. Hugs to all! If anyone needs me, feel free to pm, as per usual. Just from a glance, though, looks like you guys are getting all your questions answered (and thanks so much for everyone pitching in! REALLY awesome!). Will catch up asap!

Love the phx bottom coils!! Only problem is they don't hold enough. lol But.....if you like those.....check out the Raven thread at GV. They should be dropping any day now, same technology as the Phx, but no syringe fill, and holds twice as much. Can't wait to try those. I found when the phoenix's were brand new, that the flavor really increased when I left em sit a bit with juice in em.

Never tried vapor's choice juice, but thanks for the head's up. Get better, and don't worry bout stuff here. Not sure what the problem is (and not prying at all), but just worry about you and get better!

Halloo, Deb! Yeah, the vapors choice ones I originally tried cause I LOVE the vendor, Wolf... seriously sweetest guy on earth, and he and Eric at DV are definitely my fave vendors. But also, I'm usually broke, and can get an ounce of really quality juice for $10... and that's all the time prices. I dig my TVR, but few of the VC ones are REALLY good, and don't have to wait till they're on special at VC for $10/oz, so that's nice. lol Can't wait to try a few more, for sure. I'll definitely check out those ravens! Sounds seriously cool! Capacity on the phoenix BC doesn't bother me, but I always have a good 3-5 loaded pvs going at any one time, and just grab one I'm in the mood for every vape. lol So I like having a smallish capacity, oddly. But the no syringe fill would be killer, esp if its a nice looking unit.

As for me... nothing to worry about, at all. I just have a gnarly pain/fatigue condition. Nothing new, been disabled with it for a good 6+ years, since I was like 29. But when I switch medications, or overdo things, I usually end up flat on my back for a good 2-4 weeks, so I'm just in one of those cycles. No fun, but not at all life threatening. I'll be back as soon as I can swangle it, promise! Definitely miss the thread, and all of you!

Oh, and decided I needed a treat, so got a 1/2 oz each of the Copper Creek Choco chip cookie and Pumpkin Pie. I'll let you guys know how they go when they show up. Those AREN'T so cheap... wanna say they're like $18/oz? But since I'm saving so much with diy and Vapors-choice.com and TVR specials, figured I'd give em a whirl. I think a good chocolate chip cookie juice would just about make my year. lol Hoping its like a tollhouse... that would thrill me to bits. Crossing fingers! Talk to you guys soon!

And totally random, but just saw a snippet of another thread notification in my inbox. New Smoktech thing that Andrew at CCV is working on w the manufacturer... supposed to be like a Darwin, but in a tube mod? Anyone heard anything about that aside from the quick list of 'features' andrew posted in CCV thread today or yesterday? Looks seriously cool, but not expected for I think 2-3 mos?

I hear ya on the bein broke. I also understand about constant pain. Mine just doesn't sound quite as bad as yours. So sorry you have to deal with that.

I saw someone yesterday or day before pondering about a tube type darwin. Didn't pay much attn, cuz although I've seen darwin's, I don't know much about em other than they have a kickstand and I'll never be able to afford one! Someone pif'd me some VC caramel tobacco. Haven't tried it yet, but need to. I usually vape 18 mg and this is 6 mg, but it's 60pg which I've been wanting to try before I order juice again since I normally get 70 pg. If I like the flavor, I can mix it with some 24 mg I have to bump it up. I'm sure I have a flavor that would be compatible. So I'll be able to try their juice as soon as I go clean out a phx and load it up. lol

TVR is the vapor room? and is 1 oz = to 30 mls?

First I thought the pin was was moving because the 510 connection on the vivi looked more like scrap metal, but it still moves with both new vivi tanks. I was using the 3.5 tank adapter, but still had to fiddle with how much to tighten it every time cause all the way gets no airflow. That was only allowing the vivi to screw in less than a full turn. If I just loosened it it would practically fall off. So now I just stick the 510 to 510 shorty on there and could care less how it looks cause it works. Now if I could only get that thing off the vivi threads without pliers everything would be great.

Yep, TVR is thevaporroom.net, and 30mls = 1 oz

Bah....hate to hear that anyone else has chronic pain. So sorry you're in same boat. Seems like one of those things you never hear about till you're stuck in the situation, and then it seems like half the free world is suffering. Can't believe there aren't better treatment options, but till then, we just hang in and hope. lol Good luck with your Caramel Tobacco! I think I tried the cinnamon caramel tobacco, and was ok, but I'm REALLY not a tobacco person, so I sent it to someone with some other juices in trade. Hope you like it! Not sure how their tobaccos are, cause I don't have much to compare it to, but their fruits/sweets are great, so crossing fingers! Oh, as for the smok thing that works like a darwin... Andrew mentioned the ridiculous price tag on darwin, plus ugly form and a few other things, and all those are things they're trying to resolve with this tube version... just wants it to have similar function to Darwin. Who knows. I'm praying its under $100, though. Hopefully that'll come along and solve my 'which pv to get' dilemma. lol Plus, with CCV, at least I know he stands behind his products.

BTW, got some new cartos on the way (I was down to my last one when I was stuck on back), so once those show up, I'll have some Alice in Vapeland (awesome priced sampler for $11) and VapeDude (got in a trade) juices to tell ya'll about. Crossing fingers they're yummy!

Oh, BTW, Errol, if you're around.. those modified Phoenix bottom coils... you just drop a few drops on those like an atty, I'm guessing? Figured I'd better ask before I messed em up. VERY cool mod, BTW!!! If they work anything like reg phoenix bc's only for tasting, I'm a convert. Thanks so much!

Oh yeah.......forgot about someone saying that about the phx bc's to use them like attys.

I'm not a fan of tobacco vapes either, but just dripped some of the VC caramel tobacco in an atty, and it's not bad. No th at 6mg and 60pg, but I'm sure I can mix it with some 24 mg I have and also give some to my SIL. She is still smoking but vaping some too and some juices give her too much TH since she smokes ultra lights.

Hope you get back on your feet soon.

I start out with about three drops. With a little experimenting you can put in several drops and hold it horizontally so some of the juice is just laying in the tube and tip it vertically when you feel you don't have enough on the coil. If you get too much in the mod it will leak out the bottom if left vertical. So anything between a comfortable vape and leaking out the bottom is how much you can put in at any given time.

Can anyone help me with my LT mod?? My threads are stripped and mucked up......I want to know if there's anyone in here that can repalce the ego 510 connection on the LT v2 chrome pv....please drop me a pm thank you guys!

Are the threads so bad you can't use a short 510 extension and grab a little bit of thread?

What I would do if I had bad threads is find an old ear/head phone cable, strip and cut the insulation off a section, separate the little wires and use as many as necessary to tighten the fit between the male threads on the 510 extension and the female threads on the PV when I screwed the extension into the PV. The excess wire can be trimmed close with fingernail clippers.

If this works so you have a good connection you can probably figure out some sort of glue or filler to fill the void between the extension and the PV to make it a solid connection that won't work loose.

Edit: FWIW I put a short 510 extension on any of my PV if/when the thread start feeling loose, it save a lot of potential problems.
