I discovered a problem with a couple of attys I bought recently. I use the silicone caps for my tanks, but keep an empty tank w/the hard plastic cap handy to press the head/nipple back in after cleaning. They always fit pretty tight, right? Well I noticed these new attys were leaking a lot, so I did a dry burn & burned the wick. When I went to press the head back in, it wouldn't stay in the tank & wouldn't seal with the silicone cap either.

Put the wick in an old nipple I had & it worked fine with no leaking.

Has anyone else run across this problem?

Thanks

I think I know what you mean.... I've found that the eGo-t works best with the silicon(soft) caps on the tanks and that the eGo-c works best with the hard caps on the tanks. With the c, for some reason, the silicone caps can completely shut off the airflow on some attys as well.

Also, and this may just be a matter of habit. I seat the atty head unit on the holder before I screw on the atty body and then seat the tank. I also prepunch all tank caps.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the thickness of the chrome plating on the heads, but I'm guessing.

There is one other factor in the eGo-c B types... see:

The early B's had the three slots and they leaked when you reached about a 1/4 of a tank of ejuice left. The one slot fixed that for me. I had some early three slot B heads. I use them on the A's now  They don't leak on the A types.

I find its the draw that made my ego leak. The harder and faster you take a drag the more juice is put into the atomizer. So slower drags prevented any leaking for me at all.

That's true. Actually power vaping any pv will lower the viscosity making the ejuice more prone to leaking - and it happens in the eGo-t's, c's, clearomizers, even the filler cartos. There's always less problems when you split up the vaping time to a few or several PV's.

I'm using T2's now because my tanks would leak on my C A-style. I did find that the hard caps seem to go much longer before they leak, and if you take care putting the tank in they last even longer before they start to leak. The more liquid, the less they seem to leak, as well. I prefer the flavor and volume of the hits I get off the C style atomizers, which actually brings me to my question.

Have those of you who use or have used the eGo C found that the atomizers seem to die easily or sometimes don't seem to perform very well out of the box? I have a new atty I put on yesterday, and it has yet to really break in or give me much vapor. The juice I'm using is 80/20 pg/vg, but has vaped well on other C atomizers. Should I boil my dead, underperfoming atomizers? Everclear soak? I really don't know. They are LR, and I do have more on the way. My T2's are working fine, but at home I prefer to use the C tanks, as they are the closest to dripping I've found.

Sorry, hope I didn't derail the thread. Really curious, thanks for reading.

After having a whole atty pack that gave dry burns without adjusting I've taken to adjusting them before using.
