I am new to e-cigs, I have offically switched from traditional ciggerettes and am happy with my purchase. I was suprised how easy the transition was.

I recently purchased a Joytech eGo-T w/ the eGo-C Upgrade battery(1000Mah). I am experiancing a lot of leakage of eliquid out of the bottom of the atomizer near the igniting button. I especially notice it when my cartridge tip gets to about a 1/4 of liquid left.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice with and alternate atomizer, or I have been looking at catonimizers(sp). If anyone could make a recommendation of whaqt I am doing wrong or recommend a replacement part which does not leak.

Hi and welcome to ECF. The atomizer/ cartridge "tank" system is prone to leakage. It's an outdated delivery system. Best to buy a Mini Vivi Nova rebuildable- when head ( wick+ coil) burns out simply unscrew old head and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. Can buy separate replacements heads for about $3.00. My heads are lasting about 3-4 weeks but you need to wash and dry burn them every few days.

I have noticed that very same problem. I will us up my Tank attys and stop using it. I also noticed that the atty's in them failed at a factor lf like 3-1 compared to my CE.

My first PV was an eGo-T, and, with the leaking problems and all, I managed to kick a 50+ year smoking habit with them. So I'm the last person you will hear say anything bad about them. That said, it didn't take me all that long to figure out that even a plain old cartomizer worked a lot better, and with less problems.

This year the clearomizers have made great strides with the vision eGo's and ViVi Nova's. So they are great choices of things to try.
BTW Vision has come out with a new product, that I haven't tried yet.

GV also has them for $1 more with an extra head:

I recommend NOT using a Vivi Nova product if you are new to ecigs. They're finicky, prone to many problems, and don't work right out of the box. They're not really good at all, much less for beginners. The alternative? I would say go with any type of carto-based tank system. The DCT's are nice, but it involves a bit of math to get the correct resistance carto for your eGo batts, and some people will say that NO dual coils should be used on eGo's.

Ordinarily I would reco either cartos or carto+ tank but QC issues right now with Boge and Smok Tech.
That looks like a cool new system, but not sure if a true rebuildable would be the best idea for someone new to the hobby...
But I might need to try one to see if Vision has made any improvements yet over their flawed Nova's...
Just a discussion with tj...I'd NEVER spend 30 bux on a clearo. I've used both Stardusts and Vivis without issue. Find them very easy to use if the right ohms are paired with the right PV. Have a whack of old version 1.7 single coil cartos and still prefer a carto+ tank over the clearos though.

Yeah I know but I just call them all clearos cuz there all basically the same thing. Sometimes a pain to find this stuff- some vendors have them under "clearos", others under "cartos". To me atty+ wick with no filler= clearo :D

it's a rebuildable atty/tank system, not a clearo. But thumbs up for not spending $30 on a clearo, lol.

I see. Still it is a good bit sexier than a Phoenix or a clone of one...heh. I'm still waiting for my DID clone- which is basically the same as this thing we're talking about, but with a true Genesis-style atty.

Does all of this mean that you also don't buy into the small-quantity, hard-to-get PV items that do the same thing as the consumer grade stuff? Because if that'e the case, I would have to say I mostly agree with that. Mostly.

I hate when people say don't use something. Like they have tried everything out there and know it all. Exactly why is it a problem? Everyone has to try and find their own way.

I haven't tried it all, but I've tried a good portion of it all. I do not know everything...

...what I think is a problem is that people such as yourself are recommending products to newcomers that many other people have serious problems with. If it were just me, or just a handful, then I would say "it's just a bad unit" and move on. But it is not that cut-and dry with the novas... And really, I could care less if you recommend them or not. but to beginners, that's another story. People new to the scene need products with a higher rate of success than the Nova tanks have had.

LOL I just enjoy the basics and am a tinkerer at heart so have had no issues with any gear ALTHOUGH some modding was needed. Owned a Provari and gave it away as I had no real use for VV. Now I'm almost ready to quit vaping and bought a Kgo VV cuz I wanted the extra hit...originally gave it an 8/ 10 but now, cuz of the cheap rubber band/ button, rating is down to 2/10. I'll agree with ya though the Chinese are having a field day with us vapers :D
I run a non profit vape prog so most of the stuff I test/ buy has to make the grade cost wise. Thankfully I bought a large amount of 1.7 cartos before the QC issues came along...Smok Tech XL 1.7 single coil @ 75 cents each

I haven't tried it all and I don't profess to but I do understand cheap and performance. If I can take a 12.00 piece of equip and make it last me 2 months when I used to spend over 200.00 a month yes I am happy and will try to show others. Personally I would like to know what your serious problems are maybe we can correct them.

I spent two weeks going through the issues of these units in the tanks subforum. It would be impossible to explain every detail, but lets just say they don't wick well; they have multiple issues with tasting burnt regardless of the wicking problems, and the fix for ONE of the burnt-taste problems involves putting your device (and yourself) at risk, while the OTHER burnt-taste problem has to do with the coil being made of one length of "R" wire that melts the rubber grommet on the heads; The heads don't operate at the correct resistance; Some peoples' tanks leak (although to be fair mine do not); And last but not least, when you finally get the tank working again, you *may* have to clean it out before the tank is empty, which means siphoning out all of the juice- then, if you clean it too often, the siica strands come apart, becoming a health hazard when inhaled.

You can find all of this discussed in the Tanks subforum. I've taken these two units of mine all the way apart down to removing the coil-I havent attempted a rebuild yet, but I DO have multiple grommets with burn stains and ridges in them from the lead wires heating up. It's an engineering Fail in my book.

Yeah I've got over 60 friends using the Stardust Clearo and maybe 4 people had a problem. I just prefer the Vivi cuz the airflow is better. I dunno whether I'm lucky or what but I've used all types of cartos, carto tanks, clearos and have never had any issues. Could be cuz I spent 200+ hrs researching before I bought- no questions just lurking. While waiting for delivery of my PV I spent at least another 150 hrs researching. By the time it arrived I knew it and the accessories inside out...didn't stop me from burning out my first 2 cartos though
Most of this stuff is inadequately designed. That they can't come up with an adjustment for airflow just baffles me  but it's all about profits. I believe profits are the reason Boge and Smok Tech changed the cartos- they saw vapers getting 2 weeks out of each carto and were hoping we'd be going thru a carto per day= major fail IMO.

I don't care about every detail all I know is it works for me and a whole lot of others on here. Seems you are more interesred in a did, well good for you. I am not interested in dripping or any of the fancy mods. I just want performance and I want it now and the vivi fits the bill at the moment. If they come out with something better great I will be the first to try it. I smoked 48 yrs and You can argue all you want I have heard it all. I intend to do this cheaply and I intend to do it well.

luckily I've had great results with recent Boges and smoktech cartos, but with all of the issues with Bogegate, I wouldn't recommend them- although I love boges, i tend to think that I just keep getting lucky, lol. The smoktechs are something I would recommend with the caveat that they *must* be filled properly before you use them.

Haven't tried Stardusts, the newer CE2's or some of the other off-brand clearo's. I hear that many of them are hit-and-miss, but again no experience with them here.

The best vape I've ever had is with a single coil 1.7 carto in a tank. Great airflow, flavor and longevity of the carto. Still go back to it when I want a treat. Last week I vaped a Boge on it's own and realized I had forgotten how sweet a vape they are.
