It's not the wick that is buring, it's your e-liquid.

When a coil doesn't get enough e-liquid, the temperature goes up, because there is no e-liquid to convert to vapor, and your e-Liquid burns. It's kinda like when you doa Dry Burn.

You can increase wicking on a Sapphire by removing a very small portion of the wick. You would remove the tube, pull the wick out of the holder, remove a strand, wet the wick in your e-Liquid and then push it back in.

But if you remove too much wick the coil will flood or the carto may leak.

So if youy decide to pull remove some of the wick, only take a very small amount and see how it goes.

Should I maybe try thinning my liquid? I use 100% vg

Man, I wish you had mentioned that you are using 100% VG right off the bat.

Pure VG e-Liquids are the Worst when it comes to wicking. Absolutely try thinning your e-Liquid. If you can use PG or dan't have any, Vodka or PGA is good for thinning.

Put 3 or 4ml in a test bottle and add 4 or 5 drops of PG or Vodka or PGA. Shake it for a good solid minute.

I will try thinning like you said. Don't have pg or Vodka so I will try distilled water and report back.
Thanks

Next time you are at the store or Bev-Mo, pick up a bottle of 100 Proof Vodka or Everclear. Since you live in California you can't buy PGA, but 100 proof Vodka works fine for thining.

You can also find Pure PG at places that you buy Flavored e-Liquids and or DIY supplies.

Well as I posted earlier my first Sapphire started to not wick after using it part of one day. BTW I am not using thick juices, they are PG/VG 70/30. And using on a standard eGo battery.

So I rinsed it out thoroughly with plain water in the hopes that would make it would start wicking normally again. Loaded some juice and it immediately started leaking out the bottom of the connector.

I opened my second Sapphire and tried it and it seemed to be working OK. A couple hours later it was not wicking very well and it started leaking slowly out onto my battery.

Received my second package of them yesterday so I tried those with the same results.

I cannot take them apart and change the wicks like some have said because I don't have any wick material so I am stuck with six of these that are not working.

I so much wanted these to work.

I would like to see a video of this, having everyone you use leak makes no sense. if oyu can make one and show people that would help.

ive used over 40 now for testing, not 1 leak yet, so i really am not to sure what some users are doing and only video can help at this point.

I don't have a video camera or I would make one for sure. All I did is take the plug out and use the included tip on a bottle and fill it about 3/4 full. Like I said they would work pretty good for 2 or 3 hours or so and then the draw would get tighter and tighter and then start leaking.

Bad I watched your video tips on these and did what you said and checked to make sure the air hole in bottom was not obstructed. The connector on the battery has four slots in it. I also made sure the plug was pushed all the way down on the top.

After originally posting I went ahead and took the one that was leaking the worst and pulled the tube off of it. This one did not have a tight draw it just leaked really bad. I did not tear the atty apart. Just pulled the tube off. I noticed that the wick was extremely loose in the spike at the top of the atty. That explains why it leaked so bad.

When I have time tomorrow evening I will take apart the other ones and examine them. I have one new unopened one left so I am going to try this one tomorrow and hope for better results. I will come back and report the results.

Thanks

Actually I have had 2 leak ...... I just assume it was production error. They leak down the sides of the battery connection. The otehrs I had worked like crazy good. Production is not a perfect science. People are involved so there is a margin of error. I love them and will by more but that is the only reason I can think of that the 2 leakers I had leaked.

I just finished replacing the third wick due to flooding/leaking. What I found was that the 3 strands that make up the original wick was sticking up out of the wick holder almost 1/3 of it lenth, I pulled it out with tweezers before removing the wick holder. These original wicks felt stiff (like dipped in wax) and would not push down any further. After removing the wick holder I found all three carts had another small thread of wick sticking below the wick holder that was not visable on top or weaved into the wick I removed leaving the wick loose and or wicking down the wild piece of wick material causing the flooding. The saphires are great and work perfectly after I replaced the wick. It appears to me that possibly the wick was wet with something to assist in install that may have dryed and hardened (guess). I just hope customs releases the rest soon so I can stock up.
