I could be off base here, but from what I can see with mine, it looks as if some of the Buds have the wick (or some of the wick fiber/threads) intertwined with the coil, as I had to pull out some of the wick material from the ends of the coil, and that could be what is causing burnt taste, even out of the box. I don't know if all of them are that way or not, but it looks like at least two of mine were. I replaced the wick with a wick from a 4081 carto, burned off what as left of the old wick, vinegar bath for the coil, spread out the ends of the replacement wick, made sure the wick touches the coil lightly, put it back together, and WOW, I'm actually getting dizzy from it (may have to cut down my nic amount)! I wanted to take pics for another thread, unfortunately my phone won't take such close pics, so thanks for posting the pics (I may reference them).

OK Bad asked me to come back and report. I took my last Sapphire to work this morning and removed it from the package, filled and am happy to report that so far it is working good. On the 3rd tank refill and still going fine. I hope it continues.

I guess I will take the first five and replace the wicks and see what happens. Can someone suggest what wick material to use? I have nothing.

Thanks,

Check out my video here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sapphire-complete-tear-down-dis-assembly.html

I talk about replacing the wick and other general tips. I use wicks from CE-2 Cartos, but I think I will try some different materials in the future. I ordered 4 sapphires and I am still on my first one. Probably refilled it 30 times now.

i was just about to add how im still rotating the initial pack from weeks ago, god knows how many times i refilled these 2, ive tested dozens and dozens but for testing purposes i just use the first 2 to see how they perform and they are still going as a strong as ever fill after fill. Luckily this isnt just us as we have more thank you emails about the sapphire then all the products combined.

I wish I would have counted how many times I have filled it. If this thing ever dies I might count the fills on a new one, but I am determined to see just how far I can take this initial Sapphire. I can say already that these are the best! First item I ever used that has not leaked on my battery or into my mouth. The best part though...they really bring out the flavor in my ejuice.

to be honest, just like a friend of mine, it took me a while to get used to the sapphire and get used to the fact it doesnt leak or get juice in my mouth, both of us would stare at the sapphire after every drag, not being able to fully enjoy it because we where expecting something bad to happen, anything, juice in mouth or anything but it just works, so im finally truly enjoying them knowing that after its filled i can vape away until the next refill, i just love them man. lol

And believe me, like the other newer products we released, these wherent just dropped, just like the pumpcart and vision we spent time testing and improving them until they where ready.

there was more then one version of each of those until they got it right.

Out of the two that I initially got, I deliberately abused one by tearing it apart after about 10 refills. I just wanted to see how it was built and whether or not I could clean it and re-assemble it without ruining it. It's still working fine.

On the second one, I haven't done any dissection or goofing around with it. It's still running strong after dozens of refills. No leaks, no juice in the mouth; just good flavorful taste with lots of vapor. What else could an old girl ask for :)

(Caveat/Disclaimer/Legal Notice/Fine Print: I'm a newbie. I may not know what I'm talking about. And this is the internet. Don't trust anything you read on the internet.)

I just received 1 foot of Round Braided Silica Rope Seal 3/8" Diameter (Item #8828K72) from McMaster-Carr. One foot looks like it will be a lifetime worth of wick material. The shipping cost me more ($4.76) than the foot of rope ($3.71). You'll find plenty of threads on here describing how to use it.

Seems like your choices for wicks are silica rope or stainless steel mesh. Silica rope sounds like it is by far easier to work with. Remember, I'm not experienced. YMMV. Caveat whatever.

It might be better to buy some Fluxomizers and use them until you don't like them, them crack 'em open and use that wick.

I think if I can just get them to stop leaking they will be great. The atty is great and they product great vapor and flavor. They are constructed well. I have hopes that replacing the wicks will do the trick.

One of our fellow members was nice enough to offer to send me a small amount of wick material. I am looking forward to getting it and tearing them apart.

i sprung a leak - but listen its not what you think! I have refilled more times than i can count with no problems. i was in a hurry and went to fill a sapphire on my box mod and BAM! juice everywhere all over the mod in the air tube big mess. prolly about 1 good squirt from the bottle worth or about half a fill. i cleaned up the mess and blew the sapphire out put it on my bigger box mod and gently vaped away the flooded juice that was left and have continued to vape on it and refill it several more times without incident.
Now all i can figure is that i must have unknowingly sealed the top of the sapphire with the fill nozzle. Now i am much more careful to be sure there is a gap between the bottle and the hole.
Other than that one time i haven't had any leaking and any minor flooding caused by filling or whatever was easily vaped away with slow easy draws.
they just keep kicking .... lol

whats funny is, last night i got home form the funeral home and started to fill a sapphire, i was looking when i filled it but wasnt paying attention to the filling condom on the bottle, so as i was filling juice filled the hole airflow chamber, i screwed it on and was like wtf. i was so tired that i was trying to figure out what the hell was the issue becuase i never had a issue with them, took me a good 10 minutes to realize and check the airflow chamber, then i did a big DUH to myself. I thought i was losing my mind for a sec

Sorry for your loss, bad. My dad passed away last week. He was 96, so it wasn't totally unexpected. He was one helluva guy!

Ugg, I'm beginning to wonder if these are a practical joke. With thick liquid they dont wick, with normal 80/20 I get half way through and its leaking all over the place, second sapphire doing this. I'm spending more time playing with this crap then vaping

then you should move on and try somehting else that suits you , obviously the sapphire is to difficult for you or giving you to many issues, just like the turbine 2 is difficult for some people, when something doesnt work out for you then you can move on to the next thing.

Many people have had success with 80%vg and even 100% vg like patty here.

like i said the sapphire might be just to difficult for SOME people, I know what works in it, so do you mat but everyone expects something different from them. For those people , instead of racking their brains and driving themselves mad since the sapphire is to difficult for some of them to use then we will look for other products that is easier for those few to use, luckily we are always on the lookout.

These are stock out of the package, two so far, two I've taken apart, one the metal piece just fell apart, the other did snap together twice and now just falls apart making cleaning and putting back together quite a chore. Unfortunately, I dont have money to burn so can't just toss then. I filled up a ce2 for now so at least I can vape for an hour without issues.
