First, you really didn't need to break that link, the message is very positive.

Second, the video on the 11 quit attempts made me laugh since I went through them in my first 20 years of smoking and kept going until I finally quit trying.

Third, this is the second time I've seen Legacy on the side of harm reduction. One of their executives made a very positive statement a few months back. This has to be the first large organization that is shifting to our side.

Yes. And I met a Legacy employee at the SRNT conference. I commented that Legacy seemed to be more open these days to the idea of e-cigarettes. She told me that Legacy is going to be revising their information sheet on e-cigarettes. I got the impression that the revision would be positive.

WOW! This is a very positive development. I've seen Abrams make reserved positive remarks about ecigs in the past, including the famous commentary ridiculing the Glantz kids study in the NYTimes article. But this appears to signal a radical shift in Legacy's position on ecigs. They even invited NJOY to be part of their round table discussion on March 31:shock:. Finally I see a glimmer of hope for our cause.

I do reserve a little skepticism... Wouldn't it be ironic if Legacy just tones down its rhetoric on ecigs a bit without doing much work to support the phenomenon and in 10 years, when most all smokers will have switched to vaping, they claim the victory over tobacco for themselves.

Hey, if we'd get some sense in this discussion and the e cig remains in it's current state or, better, Legacy can have whatever credit they want to claim. They've been nowhere near as disgusting as the ALA, ACS and CTFK crowd to date. Although, perhaps they're bucking for the grease from BP that the others are getting.
