This is a quick and dirty comparison of the iLeaf Lemo and the Taifun GT clone.

My usually build is around 1.5 ohms with cotton wick, used on a variety of VV/VW devices. I am not a pro-vaping dude, I'm just a guy that likes to vape with minimal hassle and maximum enjoyment.

If you don't want to read all of the words below (there are a lot of them), here is a synopsis. Initially loved the Taifun, now think it's a leak machine with muted flavor. Initially was luke warm on the Lemo, now think it's the bee's knees.

Now the words.

I bought the Taifun GT clone from Fasttech a couple of weeks ago. Initially I liked it a lot. It's taller than the Russian/Kayfun form factor.
First build was fairly easy. The lower blast shield (for lack of a better word) drops out of the way giving good access to the posts. Using a 2mm 7 wrap 30 ga coil, I wicked it up. The blast shield was a little loosey-goosey when I raised it back up. Screwing on the cap helped, but it was still noticeably loose.
I filled it up and started vaping. First tank went great. Draw was a little tight, but I didn't want to mess with removing the air tube. Flavor was a little lacking. If a Kayfun is an 8, the Taifun was a 6.
Refilling it was easy, no little screws to mess with.
The first re-wick I started having trouble. The o-ring between the cap and the blast shield was destroyed when I unscrewed it. OK, note to self, don't screw it in as tight.
Replaced the o-ring and everything was fine. Next re-wicking, o-ring was destroyed again. I was careful this time, so this sucks.
Re-wicked, re-o-ringed, everything back together. Once I get it upright, it starts leaking like a sieve. I dump it out, check all the o-rings, replace the problem o-ring just in case. Everything goes back together and looks fine.
Next morning when I sit at my desk, I notice that there is an empty tank and a big puddle all over my desk.
So the Taifun goes in a drawer. I'm sure with enough o-rings I could get it to stop leaking, but who has time to mess with all that. The flavor wasn't that great, so I'm ok with writing it off as a learning experience. I imagine the authentic Taifun works better. I think a large part of the problem was the coarseness of the threads on the cap chewing up o-rings. And the fit of the bottom blast shield was questionable. I like the idea, but the execution of the clone wasn't good enough for everyday use.

Now the Lemo. Bought this at my B&M last week. The Lemo is a tad taller than a Russian and about half an inch taller than a 91%. The box comes with cotton, wire, o-rings, a screwdriver, basically everything you need to build a working atomizer. It came pre-built, but I didn't like the look of the coil so I scrapped it without trying it.

First build was a little fiddly. I'm not sure why, but it seemed like I was made of thumbs. I think the height of the build deck may have been part of the problem. I also couldn't find the sweet spot for wire gauge and coils. They kept coming up around 2.5 ohms. Finally got one down to 2 ohms and said screw it, I'm vaping this thing. Vaped OK, but the draw was ridiculously airy. I decided to adjust the draw. Since instructions are for dumb people, I skipped them. So I wound up un screwing the deck screw instead of the little airflow ring. After getting the deck screw tightened up and making sure it didn't cause a short, I started tweaking the air flow. And tweaking. And tweaking. The issue here is that you have to unscrew the 510 cap every time you want to adjust it. An eternity later I got the air flow where I wanted it. Vaping is good, flavor is good. E-liquid is not good. Turns out I topped it off with the wrong e-liquid and made a combination that was vapable, but not great.

So after fighting through this situation for a couple of days, I decided to go ahead and dump everything, wash it out and re-build a good coil.
Second build was crazy easy. I don't know what my problem was the first time. First coil was with the provided wire, which I believe is 26 ga. This made a .6 ohm coil at 2mm with 7 wraps. Yeah, that's not going to work. Coiled again with 28 ga, 2mm, 7 wraps. 1.2 ohms. Perfect.

I wicked it with thicker cotton than I usually use for a Kayfun/Russian. I noticed a tiny bit of leaking from the airholes on the first build, so I wanted to head this off at the pass. Thicker cotton worked great. Instead of eyeballing it like I usually do, I cut the cotton by putting on the bottom of the chimney, cutting the cotton a little bit past the chimney and stuffed it down inside the chimney keeping it clear of the juice channels. Vapes great, flavor is great. I noticed that it prefers to run a little higher wattage than the Russians. Might be due to the longer leg length on the coil, or something equally scientific.

To sum up, I love it. The glass tank is great. It is top fillable if you are careful, but I've been using the bottom fill screw to keep from making a mess. It's a little tall, but it has a nice big bore on the chimney and drip tip. It also holds a ton of juice. Air flow adjustment is a pain in the ...., but once set it seems to stay put.

If I needed a new RBA today, I would buy a Lemo. About as cheap as a Kayfun clone, build quality is great, capacity is great, flavor and operation are great.

Also, I bought an istick when I got the Lemo. That little sucker is a straight up game changer. If you don't need a high wattage device, I can't imagine buying anything else. It is my go to VV mod, fits in my pocket, works great with a Russian 91% (it does hang over the side a little, but I don't care), cheap, easy controls. I don't know how well it charges because I've had it for 4 days and haven't had to charge it yet. I bought it to replace an ailing MVP, thinking it might be an MVP killer. I now think it might be a DNA killer. Really pleased, planning to buy another.

This forum has given me a lot of help in the past, so I wanted to contribute something. Hope this helps someone
