ok got mine ordered my turn to stalk the mail man hehe. So now I want to see an epower tube with the volt readout in the end... and if that's one of next weeks new products too I might be fussy I didn't wait a bit longer but gotta vape

say I am not sure this is the right place for this but since I want to use them with my epower here is what I found. at wallmart in the outdoor section they have the solar powered walkway lights. Next to these I found some batteries. They are Westinghouse brand. First was ni-mh AA no good to us lol. Then was a rechargeable lithium something 600 mah 3.2v I didn't have anything to write down the number on it but it wasn't familiar. These look to be 14500 size they were identical to the AA batteries right next to them. On the top corner of the pack it said LifePo or something. Next to these was some that were marked 18500 but the same 600 mah. That didn't make sense.
So would the 14500 size ones work with the epower? Does the epower have a booster that will bring the voltage up to 3.7? I know these might not be ideal but they are 4 for ten bucks and everybody got a wallmart right - low cost and local got my attention.

The epower won't up the voltage, it simply regulates it. The size of those batteries will be too short. The epower batteries are about half as much longer than a AA. Width seems close to the same though. As far as how they would work, I doubt they would in the epower, but they might be great for a box mod.
No the batteries are the same size. There were AA ni-mh right next to them in fact you could easily mistake one for the other. I almost missed them myself. If I had not seen the 18500 ones sitting there I would have kept right on going lol. Some things like 3.2v so it might be handy in a box mod. I had read somewhere that the epower would boost to 3.7 because a normal 14500 or 14650 can run lower than that under normal use before it quits. IDK I think I will stick with my hd 14500 batts anyway.....
Are they protected batteries?
Personally, I'd be leary of using any batteries in a PV without some shut down protection in them. Particullarly if you're into the LR stuff and Dual Coils.
Be careful with strange batteries...if you don't know the C rating and things of that nature...putting too many amps on them at once can lead to an explosion. E-power is well vented and all...but still...it could scare ya to death and would be a mess to clean up at the least.

I don't understand your answer. What do you mean they're the same size? The epower batteries are obviously larger than a AA.
As for the power boosting abilities of the epower, the regulator might do it to an extent, but I'd be concerned about the amount of stress it puts on it. You can get 14500 batteries in 3.7v, I've been looking them online for a while now. When stepping up voltage a regulator isn't ideal, knocking it down or maintaining it is what a regulator is intended to do. You figure, with a 3.7v battery the regulator just holds that voltage when it's charged and steps it up a bit as the battery discharges. If you drop it to 3.2v batteries then the regulator is going to assume the batteries are low as soon as they come off the charger and you'll get very little use out of them before the voltage dips below the cut off on the check circuit.
Sorry I ment they were the same size as the AA which is the same as 14500. I have a bunch of these already (3.7v hd kind) and that's which epower I ordered. I know the stock epower batt is 14650 which is longer. Sorry I wasn't more clear. These odd batteries did not say anything about protection. I'm not going to mess with them but it would have been nice and convenient to be able to get the proper batteries at wallyworld for cheap

I found 14650 1600mah at electronicstix.com. They come in a 2 pack and cost $14.50 They work great in the e-power. I wasn't for sure they would work because they are 1600 mah..but they work fantastic..last a while longer with the dual coils also. Same length as the 1050's. Use coupon code ISITSPRINGYET.

Looking at the chart they supplied in that post on candlepower these Batts would not do the job well at all especially with low ohm Atty's/Carto's
