With the epower and the 14650 batteries, what is the best Carto ohms to use?

And if someone could direct me to a discussion about what the the different ohm choices and why, I'd really appreciate it :)

I don't have a chart handy that shows the wattage but here's a rough and general idea of what is out there. Also keep in mind these things tend to have a few points variance from what is on the box. I.E. If you order a 2 Ohm atty, it might actually be 1.8 or 2.2 on a meter...add some juice and it might shift +- another decimal or two...add some usage and age to the coils and even more variance might occur. So...it's not an 'exact' thing...more of a ball park idea.

With your 3.7v regulated PV ya get something kind of like this:
1.5 Ohms LR 6v simulation
1.7 Ohms LR 5v simulation
2.0 Ohms LR 4.2v simulation (Seems to be a really sweet spot for many folks...)
2.5 Ohms Standard for 510 stuff (The Joye standard)
3.0 Ohms Standard for 901/808 type cartos
3.5 and above are typically for HV and VV setups.

The lower the resistance the warmer the coils burn. More heat can bring out some of the more thick/rich flavors and the warmth can add more smoking-like throat hit.

Lower resistance also draws more amps from the battery in shorter periods of time and everything about the PV runs hotter, and battery life may be shorter. But, it can sometimes be an even trade in that you might not have to take as long of a draw to get more vapor.

Higher resistance stuff will run cooler across the board and offer more battery life.

Then there's dual coils...a whole new animal in that they have two coils running at half the wattage.....so they still pull alot of amps and make mounds of vapor...but with a different approach. Just have to try one and experience it :) These most commonly come with a total resitance of 1.5 Ohms, and a few places are starting to carry them in 2 Ohm variants.

Since the E-power is regulated at a steady 3.7v, you can get a nice vape with anything 3 Ohms and below.

I like to keep a variety of atties and cartos when I can because I like some of my juices hotter, and some on the cool side. Also, if I know I really need to stretch out battery life, I'll shoot for a 2.7 to 3 Ohm cartos and a juice that works well in them.

If you're on a tight budget and don't have money to throw around trying everything...anything from 2 Ohms to 2.5 Ohms is a pretty safe bet to start with. You'll get a nice warm vape that should work decently with a very broad range of liquids and flavors.

Just in case you'd like to do some calculations of your own...here's a link to an Ohm's Law calculator.
http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms_law_calculator.php

Note on CE2 (Flux/Clearomizer)type cartos:
When used stock out of the box: The coils in these are much closer to your mouth...so keep that in mind when trying them. A 2.4 Ohm CE2 can offer a similar throat hit at 3.7v to other cartos at 2 Ohms (depending on the juice of course).

On page 05 of the user manual it shows the direction of the negative (-) of the battery, in the charger, at the bottom near the the LED indicator light.

On the actual charging unit it show the positive (+) at the bottom near the LED indicator light.

Which is correct?

Also, when the battery is placed in the Epower, the negative is on the spring and the positive is to the chrome switch unit?

Thanks

Having some problems with my new ePower... posted them in another thread, but there were no replies.

With the included 510 atomizers... the unit will shut off if I hold the button and longer than 2 seconds (light stays on for ~3 seconds, cuts off unit) and using your Vortex carts (with 808 adapter), the unit will not fire at all after a few hits (just blinks at me).

Not sure if I have a defective switch, but it's becoming extremely annoying having to vape 1 second at a time. Really debated a few times throwing the whole thing in the garbage.

humm might be the battery. I got one 14500 works great in a modbox but the epower don't like it - light just blinks even when fresh off the charger. Im sorry your having trouble with it. I love mine AND its the first unit I have had where the cut off didn't cut me off. Very solid built and I love the rubbery finish so much i almost cant stop playing with it.
Oh not sure anybody mentioned this but if you have magnet on your battery for using in a mod TAKE IT OFF if you drop the epower the magnet could shift and short out the battery since the case is the negative connection. Good luck and pls don't get too frustrated and give up with it...

Just a quick question...

Does everyone have a logo, " Epower" painted on the base of their epower?

Mine kit didn't have it.

I know it is superficial but...

No logo on mine but it looks good anyhow. My only gripe so far is that the chrome on the switch needs to be thicker. I cleaned up a rough edge and polished it just a tiny bit and its already showing a faint brass look at the edges. still looks good to me though.
Another concern is that the tube feels like a different metal than the switch - prolly aluminum - and there is only a couple of threads on it. I am already feeling slight wear in the threads as the tube is softer metal. I think it should have more threads like the cone does.
Also the extension does not reach all the way to the end of the cone preventing me from using it with the cone and a mod at the same time. Not a great big deal as I dont do that every day but might like to. I've been talking to danno about it and I'm sure he will have a fix for it.
Now just need extra cones to modify....
And how about that auto switch or one that could do either maybe a little switch next to positive batt connector could select manual or auto that would be cool...

I agree... with the chrome and softer metal parts of your gripes :)...

I already see a few tiny spots of chrome wearing off, after only a few days of heavy use. :(

... and I am ordering the extension with my order this week.
( come on customs, no messing around on GotVapes new shipment. :) )

any news about the variable switch? or the auto switch like the previous poster said? <--that would be similar to that new product i saw recently valled the Echo. That's why I love this e-power! can "mod" it or improve without having to buy a whole new kit or something! AWESOME!
also i havent really had the issues with wear, but it does have some "stickiness" but no big deal. just a qc issue and i have gotten more adept at screwing the battery to the switch without getting any hangups. Besides it works perfectly!

The new shipment just came in. :)

What works great on a Epower?

What have you Epower users tried that your dieing to get more of?

Has anyone tried any GotVapes Carts or Catomizers, FLüXomizer, TURBINE!, etc... that has just vaped your mind?

I want to try something new that works great, less filling, that lets the juice flavor come through really strong with great plumes of vapor...

I am just kind of lost with all the choices and my limited knowledge.

So any feedback is welcome...

The ePower, being 3.7v, would work good with 2.6-2.8 and for a bit more adventure try the 2.4-2.6...also ePower would work great with the MaXimizer which clocks in at 2.7ohm (+/- .2)...

I have used 3.2 and 3.7 with 3.0 also with satisfaction, having to remember that the FlüXomizer has its coils at the top so you get a naturally perceived warmer vape anyway...

All the battery companies should put Big Bold+ and - on their batteries.

Not the little dot matrix print.

Like we are blind and stupid...

It would make me feel a lot better and safer. :)

I'm sorry to here about your switch. :(

I just now used a black Sharpie and enlarged the + & - on both my batteries.
