Because I just bought 4oz. of it and have never used it! :D I understand, or have heard that people use it to; for lack of a better word "even out" or "smooth" around the edges diff. DIY mixes so I picked some up & am ready to experiment. Anyone have any experience using it? Any advice on percentages to start at?

I believe there is ethyl Alcohol in it so I would think you'd use it sparingly for the atty/clearo cracking risk for the plastic...?

Thanks in advance for any insight on this!

Triacetin is derived from VG and is used as a carrier instead of PG for some flavors like Honeysuckle and Cherry Blossom from Flavour Arts. Triacetin is believed to be the agent that causes plastic tanks to crack. Use it with caution and only use in metal and glass tanks unless the plastic tank is the newer triacetin resistant plastic. It is considered safe for consumption and used as a food additive. vaping it should not be a problem either but it seems to not like plastic much.

Here is what Wikipedia has on it.

The triglyceride 1,2,3-triacetoxypropane is more generally known as triacetin and glycerin triacetate. It is the triester of glycerol and acetic acid, and is the second simplest fat after triformin.

It is an artificial chemical compound, commonly used as a food additive, for instance as a solvent in flavourings, and for its humectant function, with E number E1518 and Australian approval code A1518. Triacetin is also a component of casting liquor with TG and as an excipient in pharmaceutical products where it is used as a humectant, a plasticizer, and as a solvent.[3]

Triacetin can also be used as a fuel additive as an antiknock agent which can reduce engine knocking in gasoline, and to improve cold and viscosity properties of biodiesel.

In a 1994 report released by five top cigarette companies, triacetin was listed as one of the 599 cigarette additives. [1] The triacetin is applied to the filter as a plasticizer.[4]

It has been considered as a possible source of food energy in artificial food regeneration systems on long space missions. It is believed to be safe to get over half of one's dietary energy from triacetin.[5]

I saw a picture where the black plastic o-rings on a tank were completely breaking down almost to a tar-like substance that was melting. The conclusion seemed to be the triacetin in the juice. I can't find it now but if I come across it will post. Anyway I know tpa has it it one of their blueberry flavors and I avoid those. I would like more info on this too.

Isn't Triacetin what they put in Gas to Engines from Knocking?

I have heard it has many uses - e-juice just being one. I don't know if it stops knocking and pinging...but if your 0^10 = Nothing at all, then how will you take a Young Maid down to Velvet Green?

Ha! I'm an old man as well!

And, besides You & me; probably no one that was born after 1975 will understand what the heck this reply post was about! :p
