Looks exactly like what is listed on fasttech as a t3.

Seems similar, but this one is top coil. Smaller too. Can't be more than 1.5mls. Didn't really measure but I know I'll be topping this one off a lot. Which I'm fine with. Not much of a bother. No dry hits at the lower end of the tank too, which happened with the Vivi nova a bunch. :)

Gonna stop by empiremods soon to check it out. Maybe tomorrow if they're open. Need anything?

Ok Need some advice on this. I built my first protank coil today. I used 32 ga Kanthal and 3mm silica. These were the supplies I could find locally at one of the vape stores here. I did 5 wraps and it came to 1.9 I was actually hoping for higher than that.

The big thing I am noticing is a funny taste, not burnt taste just a funny one. I am guessing it has to do with the silica. Has anyone else experienced this when doing a rebuild? I have been vaping on it on and off for an hour now. If this taste is what I can expect then I will just buy coils and forget other rebuildables, but I am assuming it is not normal.

Ya some silica has a flavor that usually burns off after a while. If you blue flame the silica that helps. If you want higher ohms either wrap a little more loose or add wraps. My sweet spot is between 1.3 and 1.7ohms but that's just my preference.

Give it a little time Fran. Silica wicks take a little bit to break in. Should be better after a ml or two.

So that's where my drip dip came from! (The RBA you sent me).

You mean China? I had 6 of the same from a coop. They came with the chids.
That one from fasttech looks smaller, maybe more like the drip that comes with the provari.

It's like vaping a paper towel. I know. I hate those first pulls after rebuilding. Blech! Mine does go away after a while. Congrats on making your first coil! I just made another one for my Vivi at 2.4 ohms with six wraps just now. It's getting easier!

I think this really depends on the silica to though. I have some 2.5mm that I always torch to get rid of that funky taste quicker. But I recently got some 1mm silica that came with an rda that had zero added flavor. Ended up trying several others and found some on ebay that I don't get any new coil flavor from either.

Hey congrats on the rebuild, Cake & Pie, man; Cake & Pie.

Good advice from Dante too. :toast:

You could also do a dry burn after checking the ohms. Start at a low voltage, and pulse the fire button in 2-3 second bursts on. Then turn the voltage up a bit and try again. What you're looking for is the wires to turn red from the center out in an even glow. At the same time you may get some smoke & smell if there's anything on/in the silica. If one side, or one wrap is redder than other places, you have a hot spot and need to move the wire with needle till you have an even glow all the way across the coil.

I can only hope my 100 feet of silica that I haven't tried yet has no taste. Fingers crossed...I'm trying that wick next to see. :)

Thought I might add... the ebay wick I have that had no taste was from ebay seller snaredrummmer ya 3 m's. Wick I purchased from mr. Wick on ebay did have the funny taste. I haven't ordered enough times to know if it will consistently not have that taste though.

I'm cool with the funny tasting wicks...as I know it goes away pretty quickly. I am a 100% rebuilder now...no stock coils for me. I wish I had started rebuilding sooner actually. It was intimidating to me for some reason. My coils are better and the cost savings are enormous per coil. I hope Frantic's funny tasting wick got better though...where is he anyway?

I remember when I first came here everyone was saying that dripping is an advanced level thing. Pththt What could be more simple than buying a standard 510 atty and dripping three drops into it? I don't get why everyone (in general) always said that. I just dripped some juice and it is so easy and the vapor is outstanding and the taste and heat and throat hit are perfect. No wonder I did nothing but drip for a few months. I love me some dripping. So I guess my point is to the people who are just starting out or wanting to rebuild or drip, don't let this stuff intimidate you and don't believe what everyone says.

Cake and pie folks!

There's only one bad thing to dripping...nothing else compares. At least that I've found so far. So I've tossed out all the clearomizers, the vivi novas, the cartomizers and tanks, the protank. All I have left standing are my rba's and genny. The protank was my last factory made coil I've bought in a long time and I took it apart and made my own coil for that within a few hours of having it.

Agree Dante. Dripping can spoil it for every other kind of delivery.

Except bottom feeding, which is like dripping from the bottom ...

Somehow, that doesn't sound very pleasant. I think, I ned to add the word "up" at the end there. :D

I seriously think I'd like the bottom feeders. I just can't get past that box look or the ones that look like a grease gun with the bottle dangling off the side.
