Ok...I get the difference in price between, say,a Vamo and a Provari... lots of electronics in there that can make a difference amongst other things.
But what is the difference between a $40 mech and a $200 one? In the whole form versus function scale, I usually value the former about as much as a warm bucket of spit. it's a switch, a tube, and some connectors...
Grade of the metal tubes, materials used, connectors, and probably most of all exclusivity.

The big difference of expense between those isn't mainly due to electronic. It is more so the tube itself. The quality machining, the quality of materials used. The warranty etc. Don't get me wrong I have my fair share of China clone mechs but just as the first time you feel and use a provari and get that "I get it now" feeling the same goes for a nice quality made mech. And in my case it has gone far past the functionality and into a hobby of collecting.
With all that though, I still love my k100. Look at pbusardo website. The k100 out performed some very expensive high end mechs

Thanks... I asked since I am one of the people that held, and used, a Provari and thought that it was nice, just not THAT nice. Oh, don't get me wrong, I could tell that it had higher quality fit and finish and such, but not enough IMHO to justify the 300%+ bump in price over the Vamo I eventually bought. If you disagree, that's fine...

A couple more of the key points that makes the Provari unique are also the accuracy and consistency that it provides. Add to that the fact that both my Provari's are in the 2 year old range, in which time I have retired numerous relatively "cheaper" mods like the LavaTube, Vmax and Zmax with connector or other issues, and you'll perhaps start to understand the allure that surrounds owning one.
Not knocking the Vamo or anything else out there, but see if you can keep it functioning or looking as good as the Provari after 2 years of daily use.

That was my point. The only thing that matters is if you are satisfied. I don't get any more noticeable performance out of my nzonic than I do my k100. But to me the ultra sensitive /smooth button feel, quality threads and all around feel of the device make it more than worth the extra cost. To many it isn't and that's cool too.

What batteries do you guys use for your devices? I'm using some cheapie AW IMR 18350's for my zmax. Says 700mah but I know thats a huge lie, damn thing goes pretty fast. Any recommendations?
AW IMR 18350's sure isn't a "cheapie", they are the best 18350's money can buy actually.
Gotta agree with Blix based on the press it gets and my own experience with AW.
What's definitely a "lie" is the 100 mAh=1 hour of vaping "rule" that some seem to believe in 
Aw batteries are very good. An 18350 battery just doesn't last very long.

Really? alot of people told me the AWs were cheap and go towards panasonics or Orbtronics (never heard of them). They said they have a truer mah read closer to what it says on the label. I dunno.

Now Panasonic(the Orbs are a relabeled Pana) have a couple models that are very very good, but that's only for 18650, for 18490 and 18350 AW IMR rules. Simple as that.
Also AW is known for being rather conservative with his Mah numbers.
The majority of people I have seen vaping use AW bats. I have 10 and they are awesome. Specially in mechs.

I agree with Blix. A 700 mah aw will last me as long if not longer than a 800 mah efest or a 1200 mah trustfire. I'm not even sure orbtronic has an 18350 battery
