Okay.. I have the RSST with a drilled out air hole (1/8") and really like the pull on it, I also have the KFC, but find that the pull isnt as easy as the RSST, I opened up the airflow to max capacity and its still stiff. So I took the KFC apart and found that modifications to increase airflow isnt really possible... the + pin is drilled lengthwise and across at the bottom for air flow. Drilling the pin out any further isnt an option, the material (pin) would be entirely too thin to continue holding the + base on the deck if drilled... wonder who decided that the airflow with the original pin hole dia. was sufficient and what tests they used to determine it...

I'm convinced that no matter what is done with the airflow it will never make everyone happy. I found the KFL to be a little airy for my liking at fist. But it wasn't long and I adapted to it. Now I prefer it. I know they tried solving it by going with the adjustable airflow on the Lite. But I've been reading mixed reviews. I just think airflow preference is all over the map.

It definitely is. I have the KFL+ & I haven't run it all the way through the spectrum, but I can make it too airy or too tight for my preferences with plenty of adjustment left on both sides. I'd have a hard time believing that someone couldn't tune it to what they prefer.

Bunnykiller actually has a clone of the russian 91% , it doesn't seem to have the range of adjustment that my 3.1 clone has but vaping on his RSST is like opening your mouth and breathing no resistance at all , it ain't for me but he does lung hits with it and the clone is too stiff of a draw for that , the airflow opening is 1/3 the size of the 3.1's , still don't know how he does lung hits with 36mg nic .

I know people who pulled the airflow screw completely off their Plus.

Dust was doing the twisted wire too. Seemed to work for him but I don't think he's still doing it. Not sure.

I was doing twisted before I got the 26, 28 and 30g wire. It worked well, but now have all the KFL's wrapped with 28g coils.

I tried the 28 ga once. Didn't care for it. But I should try it one more time. I'm not sure if I can remember what I didn't like about it. Do you adjust your power using 28ga vs 30ga?

    Sub-ohming?

I just have the 32g at the moment. I'm thinking about picking up some 28 for giggles. It's pretty much exactly where I want it with the twisted 32, so I don't see too much point in spending money hunting for something that might be ever so slightly better.

Yeah, I usually run my 28g 12 wrap 1.6ohm coils around 9 or 10 watts compared to what I used to run around 8 watts before.

Truthfully, I think the vast majority of setups are the same. If it's making vapor it's as good as any other setup or hardly different. :)

I haven't subohmed with my KFL. I've subohmed only with my Phoenix RBA's. Maybe that's what I was thinking.

Yep... pretty much. Took me a little bit, and a drawer full of some discarded gear, but I've settled in with my Vamo and K100 with some RDAs that work like clockwork. Keeping costs in check was the reason I got the KFC rather than the real deal or the Russian.... For $21, it was worth the flyer and I'm glad I did... it's a great device. It's in my bag now as it's far more thirsty than my RDAs, and my Cinful Apple supply was dwindling fast. By the way... silica + KFC + Legend... not a good combination. Not sure what was going on, but the vape tasted horrid... there was a dirty ashtray note to the vape and the wonderful sweet tones of the juice where nowhere to be found. When I tore it down, the wick was wet enough and there was some juice in the deck, so I'm not sure what is going on with that.... so the Legend will go back in the dual coil Nimbus clone... and the CA is back in the Trident... not complaining though, those RDAs perform perfectly fine... having that tank in the KFC was nice though. I'll bust it out once I order some more CA (which tasted GREAT in there).
Leo are you sure it ain't your buds playing tricks on you ? I had an issue with unboiled cotton and Legend in the KFC but silica and boiled cotton have been fantastic with Legend in the KFC , try some cotton and see if that makes a difference to you .

I was just asking about the subohming in regards to removing the air screw completely. I've had it backed out pretty far, to the point there was hardly any draw resistance noticeable. I figure the subohmers might need that little bit extra, don't really know. Zero interest in subohming or cloud chasing. I do find that I have to wrap my KFL a little lower than I liked my cartos though. Just a few tenth's though, nothing extreme.

Subohming tends to be too hot for me. I like cool vapes. I know dual coiling would help with that but at some point it gets ridiculous farting around with all these setups. I'm using silica on a 2.0 ohm coil on the Provari and it rocks my world. I've tried a myriad of other setups and get no additional benefits. Just me. I used to like monkeying with stuff. Now I just want crap to work and don't get into the screwing around as much.
