Maybe even into the 10 - 12 or more watt range.. *shock*

There is a distinct difference in vape speed between the 1 ohm (4 wrap 28) and the .8 (3 wrap 28) that I had on my RSST. The 1, at a full battery, pulling down 17w, there is still a noticeable delay, like turbo lag.... when it did get going, it vaped great. At .8, over 21w, it would crank right quick.

But, that's 28g... thick, low resistance wire takes more current in order to heat up. With 32, that stuff fires up a lot faster.... so if it's still coming on a bit slow, it probably wouldn't take much to speed things up! If it's on a SS wick, espeically with a fair number of wraps, it could take a ton of heat. I know when I first built my RSST, I was reluctant at first since prior to that, on evods, if I pushed past 9, it'd get nasty.... I was surprised that not only was the taste NOT like sucking on burning styrofoam, I ended up with a rich, deep and dense vape that wasn't nearly as hot as I expected.

I'd try even lower on the resistance, if not for the whole "you're vaping a a short there, son" thing. And I'd probably have to do a helix of 28g or maybe 32g to avoid the hellfire that would ensue from pumping 30w through a 2 wrap coil.

Question for the Kayfun enthusiasts...

Is your coil completely perpendicular to the screws or is it angled?

Generally it is angled. If you put a kink in the wire where it meets the screw, you can get it to sit perpendicular, but I don't think that's important. As long as your coil is centered above the air hole and no wire touches the inside of the chamber, you will be fine.

You all should try Nichrome wire. It heats up a lot faster than Kanthal. People who say there is a difference in taste are likely swayed by the power of suggestion rather than true objectivity.

I think it has to do with patience. I've used nichrome and got a heavy metal flavor (way more than Kanthal). It did subside though.

How much clearance between the coil and air hole is needed? Probably not much.

Crap! Kayfun is still in transit. Now they're saying it wont be here till tomorrow. :(

Today seemed too good to be true.

Do you live in the "boonies", where FedEx does not deliver on a regular basis?

As long as it doesn't touch. You won't be able to get it that far from the hole by nature of how the wires anchor it to the deck. After you do your wrap and lock down the leads, take a flat head driver and gently lift the coil away from the deck. That should be enough.

A friend of a friend met that Bishopheals guy at Empiremods at a meet. He didn't say very many nice things about him. And he said he tried to pull that fuggetaboutit stuff, but he doesn't really talk like that. It's so annoying.

I hope he's nice, I think he might be at empire this weekend. Hopefully I don't have the same experience my friend's friend did. I wouldn't mind him taking a look at my RSST and telling me why it tastes funky.

Well then that's pretty awesome. I still hate the accent.
I grew up in College Point NY. It's a little peninsula on the north west side of Queens. Most people a few years back never even heard of it nor ever would have a reason to even go there. Lots of history in that little town. Or there was anyway. A ton of commercial construction ruining it day by day. My point is I never heard that accent growing up. Not once.
