OK, I don't mind embarrassing myself here, y'all are friends. I feel kinda awkward embarrassing myself in front of total strangers, which I why I normally don't wander too far from the Army. But I've recently started a thread which has turned into an excellent opportunity to fully display my ignorance. So,... a little help here please ?
Which COMPANY is the MANUFACTURER of the following items ?
IBTanks, ProTank (Kanger?), Evod, AMPTank, IGO-L, AGA, DBox and RSST.
There are possibly several different companies represented there, and I'm not in the market for a new mod as much as I'm trying to have a little fun in an equipment poll. But this poll has become more of an education than I expected. Just so I can tally up the votes properly can anyone tell about these items ? (X, where are you ?)

It gets very murky figuring out the manufacturers of these things PopPop. I know Protank is Kanger. Evod is Kanger. AGA and IGO-L are Genesis (though everyone calls them AGAs so I don't know for certain...GotVapes calls them Berkshire), RSST is Smoketech I believe. Yes, we need X to sort through this mess.

Yea, I was up 'til 4:00 am trying to figure out some of these items. The Mods (Power Source) can be traced by searching ECF. (By the way, that is an interesting little device Iowa Gal uses) but the Tanks are very difficult to trace down.

I'm not saying their ain't good folks elsewhere's on ECF cause there is but y'all have made me feel welcome here and I appreciate it.

What's the general opinion here of ribbon wire vs regular kanthal and is anyone using an RSST?

Use em both on my rssts. Prefer kanthal only because I didn't have a ton of ribbon to really get the hang of it. Only have one more builds worth so I've been saving.
Kanthal or ribbon you can't go wrong.

    We enjoy your company retic.

I never used ribbon. Regular Kanthal has always worked for me so I don't monkey with ribbon. Others here have so I suspect you'll get some feedback. In addition to Lion, I think it was either Chak or MP who also has experience with the RSST.

EDIT: Ooops, that answers my question. MP is the other one with the RSSTs.

I use regular Kanthal, and have two RSST's.. although both are now sitting in the corner sulking while I enjoy the Kayfun-Lite. :)

Never was much of a purist when it came to Ribbon vs Regular Kanthal, and with almost 500ft of regular wire, I did not care to re-invest in ribbon wire..

Thanks everybody for answering my questions , I can't afford the kayfun right now and I won't feel so bad if I screw up an RSST for my first build .

I can't afford the KFL either but I got one anyway. It's awesome. But stick with your RSST's if you're comfortable with them Retic. Nothing wrong with them (by all accounts).

So my Nemesis clone finally made it to California from fasttech yesterday (shipped on Sept 13th). It will take a few more days to get to NYC. Will the AW IMR batteries i have be ok for a mechanical like this? I'm not too well versed on batteries.

I'm not a battery expert either, but I'm confident you can't go wrong with AW IMR batts.

Geez, Sept 12! My SVD order from Slowtech was shipped on Sept. 30. I see it made it to Hong Kong on Oct. 5. I did not order batteries but I don't know if this makes a difference in HK queue time.

Why in the hell do they go through Hong Freaking Kong anyway?! That's the only way? I remember the Brits sending colonists to an undiscovered land in 1607 to start a colony they would name Jamestown. One of their primary tasks was to discover a new trading route so they didn't have to go through the Orient. Here we are 406 years later and we're still trying to find a different trading route? Sheesh!!! I'll bet no one lives in that undiscovered land anymore. It's worthless! :)

Bronze.... Heh... yep, our two shipments must be in the same container, playing cards at this point.

AW IMR batteries are, in most regards, the highest quality batteries you can put in a device, regulated or not (other than the extreme sub-ohm crowd).

AW (basically a battery obsessed dude in China) runs a bunch of cells sourced from various locations through some rather stringent tests... the ones that pass his muster get the now-familiar spartan red AW sleeve slapped on them and the rest get sent off to who knows where... but if you have an authentic AW battery, you have a top notch bit of hardware.

You'll notice that many high-end shops, like ProVape for example, will slap "We recommend AW IMR batteries" all over the place. That should clue you in to that label's reputation.
