I've taken to using a 306 dripping atomizer mostly all day besides a carto tank. The flavor is unreal, just annoying to drip after 3 or so pulls. Does anyone have any experience with the Grail 306 from Atmistique? My local B&M has it, and from the reviews I've seen on youtube, it's great. Was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience.

Not me Neo. I used 510 attys a long while ago and tired of the constant dripping so I gave up on them. But they do produce awesome flavor. No two ways about it. Then I went to the Phoenix. You can get 12 - 15 drops in one of those so it wasn't so bad and the taste was every bit as good as dripping (cuz that's basically what the Phoenix is). Then I went to Gennies. Thumbs down on those. Then the Kayfun. End of story.

So I took the plunge and bought a KFC (if I like it, will have the real deal in short order). I have watched 5000 youtube video's and it seems no one does the same build/set-up.

Just curious what you guys are using, but I don't want anything to terribly difficult to start out with. I have found a couple that look pretty easy, but they look like they use a lot more wicking materiel than what's shown in the Kayfun Lite thread here on EFC.

Dreamer, there is no reason to make coiling/wicking the KF any more difficult than it needs to be. Truthfully, people get carried away with their builds. God bless them because this is how we advance our habit, but you can get a killer vape by doing a simple build. First tell me what you are getting...wire? Wick?

28 - 30 gauge microcoils with organic cotton balls. As the General suggested, go with a simple build to begin with and get a feel for it. Once you have that down 100%, then start experimenting with the more complex builds.

I watched a PBusardo video today of him reviewing the KFL+, and he still uses a heck of a lot of cotton in his coils. I don't understand how he does not choke his coils with the amount he uses.

I got Kanthal A1 Wire 30 Guage (10'), Ekowool Hollow Silica Cord 2mm (3'). This is what it said it shipped with, so I ordered a little bit more of each. The place I got it from was kind of expensive so I only got a little but I wanted some on hand when it came.

That will work , like Bronze said you don't have to do a complicated build , a simple build will still give amazing results in it .

Provari as long as it isnt to top heavy and it falls over. If that happens then the MVP2 since its box shaped.

Here's what I use. I also use my Provari with the Kayfun. I make a 10-wrap microcoil, 2.0mm inside diameter using 30ga Kanthal. It yields about 1.8 - 2.1 ohms. I use a silica wick.

    Have you made coils before?

Never made one in the vaping world before. I have made them at work but on a much LARGER scale. I have done a ton of reading and video watching the last while back. I know what your talking about though.

We got snowed out at work today, and I left and forgot to grab my spare drill bit case!! Looks like I am going to have to make a mad dash to the store and get one as I cant find a new 2.0 or 13/64 bit here.

Yeah, you'll be fine making micros. They are the easiest way to make a coil and if you've been watching the vids you're in good shape. I use a jewelers screwdriver to wrap around. It is 1.98mm in diameter. A 5/64ths drill bit = 2.0 mm (not a 13/64). I use cotton wicks in my Phoenix RBA's but use silica in my Kayfun. Cotton tends to get gunked up quickly with most NETs (though HHV is pretty clean). But it is simple to change out the cotton in a Phoenix because it holds only 12 drops. A Kayfun holds 4 mls so if the cotton gets gunked up after a couple mls you have to drain it. It's just easy to dry burn the silica and truthfully I experience very little flavor difference between the two. Your ekowool should work fine though some complain about it. I use two strands of 1mm silica. I run a doubled over piece of Kanthal through the coil to serve as a fish tape. I grab two strands of silica at the middle and pull through to make four strands total. I clip to the width of the Kayfun (23mm). I don't get all hung up about perfect placement of the wicks down the side. I simply put the chimney on, soak the silica with some juice (so it behaves) and stuff it down there. Presto, done! Only caution (and you probably know) is when you squeeze the coils together to finish the coil, don't touch the coil with your squeezers while you have the fire button on.

You'll be fine. Let us know how it works out for you.

I don't think my brain and fingers are in contact this morning, 13/64ths would be a little bit BIG.. :D

I just went to the local hardware store and grabbed a 5/64th. I just grabbed some of that ekowool because its what comes with the KFC and the place I ordered from had it. So I figured I would just get a little bit of it (and wire) from there so I knew I had some to mess around with while waiting for other stuff to come.

Your build sounds nearly identical to the one I have been watching a few times on youtube and was going to try. Only thing they did different was they didnt use a drill bit, they just wrapped it around the silica/ekowool. I was curious if you could use the drill bit then slide it through as I think (from making bigger coils) that it was always easier to wrap around something hard than something limber.

If this all works out and I like the rebuildable stuff (everyone says there is no way I wont, but heard the same thing about the cartotank that I hate :D), I have plans to get a dripper or two. I have a bunch of juice that I like in very small doses and its kind of a hassle putting a little bit into a tank, then going through the cleaning process just to do it all again in a couple hours, or have clearo's filled for those random times. :D

Thanks for all the information, I am looking foreword to the first build.............Now all I need is FedEx to cooperate and deliver it!!!!
