I like the thought of an APV, but maybe it's just mod envy. The Twists do the trick, but I love the look of the big suckers. (for example, Bappo's iHybrid is lovely, just above there) I have read the library entries on all of the differences in mods and while I understand VV/VW and the math needed (or not needed), I have yet to see what the practical real life to humans difference is between my little Twist and something with more power. I find that for the most part my juices taste burnt-ish much about 4.0 on the Twist, so I'm not really understanding why I would want to go higher...my juice preferences at the moment are mostly fruit and sweet flavors, though I'm branching out into tobaccos. Anyone want to enlighten me, as I've been poring through threads for a couple of days now and still not sure why I am so lost, yet so intriqued. :)

Hi Ms Amy. Your thinking about your Twists is perfect. If you're into the hobby aspect of vaping then explore the mods. If not, just enjoy your Twists.

Voltage alone does not tell the story. You have to factor in the resistance (ohms) of your atty to know what the wattage is. Watts is what does the burning. I'll include an Ohm's Calculator at the bottom if you want to fool around with it. Enter two values and the calculator will fill in the rest. As for "more power"..that tends to be a testosterone-laced strategy to get your juice to taste better. It doesn't. You dial it in where you like it. While the boys are trying to out-do each other by maximizing their voltage till their tonsils roast, I try to minimize the power I use because it just brings out the true flavor of the juice I am vaping. Just my opinion.

Amy, the vape will be identical between your twist and a Provari, Zmax, and any other variable voltage or wattage device; assuming the same device on top. What you get on the latter VV mods is a better feel in hand and the ability to use separate batteries that are easily obtainable. A Vivi Nova on top of your twist is just as satisfying as on anything else.

Some devices like a genesis atty and other rebuildables do not work on twists due to current draw. My iHybrid is a straight mechanical mod (no variable voltage) with a rebuildable genesis atty built on top. Very high watts and very limited in production (25 Blue Dragons were made). Oh and the price goes up too.

Ok, I have my first RBA, received about a week ago, and it's fantastic, leaks sometimes, but otherwise good to go, flavor, TH, vapor all fantastic. So I'm no longer a carto guy.

However, had to get this phiniac tank, just because I'm a poker addict. It is working much better than my previous carto tank at least.

I did notice that, Bappo, and as a single mom/full time student, no canna do! I was wondering if the reasoning was the longevity of a quality piece as opposed to something that needs to be replaced....though tonsil roasting isn't a hobby of mine, Bronze. :)

I didn't think so Amy. ;)

Stick with your Twists. They do the same thing as a Provari for a fraction of the cost. If you want to pretty up your Twists, get your boys to do some of their cute artwork on them with a white marker. It might melt your heart every time you pick it up.

Ravens up 7 - 0.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm hoping for a Baltimore win, just to be contrary. I'm in CT, and I'm a Bears fan....and interestingly enough, I'm thinking I may have my daughter draw up a template for me for a design...she's received many art awards and is an avid Manga fan. Already looking at Savannah College of Art and Design...how can I have a child planning for college already?

LOL. You don't look old Amy!

Bears fan, huh? I spent the first 38 years of my life in ChiTown. I know everything about the Bears. :)

Yeah XL, and a pretty tight fit, no leaks so far, first time to use it though. It didn't turn out as brightly frosted as I had hoped, but still suits me pretty well. It's a dual coil 3 ohm carto, cranked up higher than I have ever vaped at, 5.5 volts, good vapor out of it at that setting, much better than my first tank's vapor, which is why I haven't used it in almost a year.

As for the dual coil, 3 ohm cartos, seems I've read before that dual coils aren't so good. Seems to be fine, all of my regular sized cartos have bene single coiled, both LR and SR. Those of you with more knowledge than me, even though you aren't carto people most likely, what's better, single or dual, LR or SR? I've read SR at higher volts often will drain the battery slower than LR at lower volts, due to power output and ohms law or something. I've plugged numbers and seen how that works, so just want your personal preference and advice.

Thanks!

My sweetie was born in Chicago and much of both of our families live there or in the surrounding 'burbs.
And I don't feel old...just can't believe I'm planning for college for a child while going to school myself! I was 24 when she was born. She was just a scrunchy little baby! /End of first quarter.

I probably know half your family. I lived in the burbs too.

Personally I vape single coil due to past issues with dual coils which were just issues in general and nothing to do with DC or SC...
I prefer LR personally only because I find SR burns out batteries faster. I haven't seen this thing you speak of myself.. Plus say a device like my MVP only goes up to 5volts and my sweet spot with SR is higher usually. Maybe once I finally get a kick for my SB I'll use more SR..

I love carto tanks, have an addiction to buying em and want a bunch.. Liquinator, lil mama, phiniac, vaporfexion are all in my sites.
Which tank did you have that you didn't like?

I have family in Chicago itself, and in Bolingbrook. D's family is mostly in Chicago proper.

Grandparents lived in ChiTown proper. I went to school in ChiTown. spent lots of time there. Never a dull moment. Didn't get to Bolingbrook very often though. They had that amusement park there for a long time. Don't know if it's still there. That was a while a go. My sis lives in Naperthrill near BB.

My stepson went there! He now has credits in two movies! We went to the theater to watch his name come on the screen when they rolled the credits. It's really quite thrilling :D

I have a DCT Map Tank, looks nice, and maybe I just need to revisit it now that I have different XL cartos for it, and know what I am doing more! Probably this is the case, I imagine I just didnt know how to get it working very well. Never leaked so it has that going for it!
