Just got the Terminator-C in today. What the heck do I do with this thing? There's like 20 parts to it. Anyway, whoever has experience with this, can I lose the clear tank and just use the ss one? I assume I would have to buy a shorter mouthpiece. It looks like a beast. Been doing too much modding today to bother with it. I'll wait until this weekend.

Yep, Z, you can use it in "short mode" without the window if you want. I've never tried it, but it works on the Odysseus, and the Terminator is pretty much part-for-part a copy of the original Ody. And, yes, if you do that the mouthpiece will look a little obscene.

Just to give you a feel of what you're in for:

Stage 1: Oh my God, parts everywhere! <-- You are here
Stage 2: OK, I think all the parts are in there. Hey, what's that nut over there for?
Stage 3: Two kinds of wire? Whose stupid idea was that?
Stage 4: Yeah, I've got this thing. Let's fill it.
Stage 5: Oh, that's why you close the juice control before you fill it. Let me get a towel and try that again.
Stage 6: Hey, I closed the juice control this time, dammit. Where's that towel? And is it bad that my battery is wet?
Stage 7: So, that's what silica tastes like.
Stage 8: Holy crap, is that a cumulus or a nimbus?
Stage 9: Oh no, it's empty. I'm scared to fill it again.
Stage 10: Eureka! I think I finally have this thing figured out.

Just remember, the journey is at least as important as the destination. And keep a towel close.

Waiting for my AMP kit, should be here tomorrow. Lately, been loving the AC9 but still love my ZAP. Have them both set up at 1.5 ohm with 30g kanthal 5/6 wrap. When out and about, I still like to use my Prive tank with Boge LR cartos or drip using hh 357 long barrel 1.5 or 2.0 ohm atty.

Sounds like you could get hurt with that thing. :)

It can be done Chak. But the first time or two it's a pain. The bit wants to walk all over the place. Not sure you can pin the bit on that tiny hole or not. Depends on the bit. You can get those cheap Black and Decker bits...I think they call them Bullet Points or something like that from a Home Depot (or Thai equivalent). They have little anti-walking points on the end that will probably fit in that tiny hole to keep it from wandering. I've never done it on that device so I don't know. X has so we know it can be done. But you're right, a drill press is best (or a vise at least). Do you have access to either?

Unfortunately, no I don't, but it's time to invest in at least a vice. Been wanting one for a long time now. Next time I'm at Home Pro I'll have to look into how much they are and keep an eye out for pointier drill bits. The set I have isn't one of the best... But yeah, it's good to know it can be done. Kudos to Xfoo again!

I didn't mean to suggest using a "finger bit" to drill the hole, although I suppose that could be done. There are finger bits sold on one or two vendor sites. You find them in hobby stores. Here's one on Amazon. What I meant before was you don't need to clamp or use a drill press on the cap. A handheld electric drill does the job without the need of using a vice to hold the cap. Drill in one hand, cap in the other.

Ah-ha! But with my luck I'd have drill in one hand, cap in the other and drill through finger!

I dunno what the big deal is. SS mesh wicks are really easy to make.

I had no problem making the wick either - actually easier than I thought it would be. :D Will be working on number two after my daughter goes back to LA. Right now I'm the designated driver for her and her aunt who are visiting.

Yeah, it is a cool feeling to accomplish rolling and wrapping mesh wicks/coils. Practise makes perfect.;)

Whoa! That looks totally wicked!!! Congrats, XFoo!!!

Have to get a second Vamo after the iTaste SVD and the ProVari, of course.

I've watched all the videos that cover most of the caveats with this device. Flood prevention seems to be the biggest issue. I looked at the video on wrapping the neg wire around the wick to prevent leaking at the housing nut. I even looked through the thread on that other forum site (your avatar there is cool). My problem right now is the ceramic cup won't release from its steel housing. I wanted to fire it as many people do but it just won't budge. Does yours come out? If I need to replace the ceramic, I would be forced to spend $25 on a new assembly rather than just the $5 part for the cup. Bummed. I'm waiting to hear back from Stormy's on the issue.

Mine actually fell out the first time I opened mine up, and I lost the nut that holds the center post. You aren't the first person I've heard mention that problem, though... apparently some of those ceramics are bigger than they should be. I wonder if sticking it in the freezer for an hour or so might help free it up.

I emailed Stormy and she's sending me a ceramic piece and assembly that aren't jammed together for exchange of mine. What do you do about the long positive pin? On an adjustable connector like the EA or GG it's not a problem, but on the Vamo or similar vv devices it leaves quite a gap. Is there a fix or workaround?
