Bronze do u know of a video to watch to show me how to put these pre-rolled,burn't mesh on and process from there...TIA

Here's one Dale. You can do a YouTube search and come up with a bunch of them. This guy shows how to make a ss wick. You can buy them premade from GotVapes and can skip this portion of the video if you wish. Skip up to the 8:50 mark where he actually builds the coil. If you can change a tire on your car you can rebuild a wick. Do you have a PV or multimeter that can measure ohms?

Just got an email from GotVapes pushing their latest mech mods. This one has an adjustable airflow. Not sure how gimmicky that is but could be interesting.

L-rider Corolla SCOPE Mech Telecoping Mod w/ Adjustable Air Flow [gv-CorollaScope] - $54.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

This one is kinda ugly but that is in the eye of the beholder.
The BLADE Sliding Mechanical Mod : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I got the same email, but I didn't look at these as I really don't need another mech. I'll go back a look anyways, hahaha. Really want to save up for a ProVari. (sigh) I did look at the RBAs they were promoting in that same email, though. I don't need any more of those either!!! Damnit!!! Stop lookin'

Dale, can I ask what device you'll be putting mesh on?

Chak, Dale has never done a ss rebuildable (or any rebuildable). I linked him over here from another thread. He doesn't like messing around with rebuildables but I wanted him to see he could purchase the ss wicks already made up. That would reduce his farting around factor where he might want to give one a go.

Ok, I see. That's a nice video, haven't seen that one before.
There is a bit of a learning curve and one needs to have the time to mess with them. I still need to perfect my mesh rolling skills and Oxidizing. Too many hot spots. But after watching this I think I see what I could improve on. I haven't been building up enough carbon layer with the juice before wrapping the coil.

That's exactly the kind of thing you'll find for $25 in a co-op. I absolutely loathe chamfered tops. I don't understand the allure. Plus, that mod is 100% chromed brass. Kind of defeats the purpose of a mech with regards to voltage loss.

Agreed. Ugly.

My opinion is they shouldn't have named it "Cobra" as it is not a Cobra but just a lookalike.

Also see GV's sells pre-rolled/burned 400 SS mesh for cheap. Good for lazy people or those who don't want to invest in a 20 year supply of mesh just to make a few wicks. I increasingly fall into these categories. :)
Stainless Steel 400 Mesh Pre-rolled Pre-burnt [gv-StainlessPreRolledMesh-400] - $1.59 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

How hard is it to roll a piece of mesh and run a flame over it for ten seconds? For $10 you can buy a 12''x12'' sheet of mesh and get at least 50 wicks out of it. The most challenging part about genesis attys is making the coil and working the hot spots. The wick rolling is all of two minutes' effort. To pay $1.60 for a single wick is foolish and taking advantage of novice vapers. If someone can't be bothered with rolling mesh, then they shouldn't be using gennys in the first place. Genesis attys require all the hands-on practice one can get. That's the only way one can master the sometimes mind-numbing nuances. I frown on Got Vapes for this one. My very opinionated :2c:

Interesting. Maybe gimmicky though, yeah. I could really get behind a variable wick tank though. Like a Kanger Pro Tank that has the option of hiding the top wick, even the second wick. Would be cool for high VG vs. high PG swapping.

But I digress.

There are so many toys out there. Wish I could try them all.

I'm normally not so negative. I'm 0 for 4 this morning. Gonna work on that today. :)

Good idea. :)

As for the wicks for a buck sixty....there are oodles of people out there who simply do not want to mess with making their own wicks. For a variety of reasons. It's perfect for them. And I'm not so sure it isn't an option for me. I can roll up a square of mesh and burn it as well as anyone if I want. But sometimes, I just don't want to. Little things like that added up can unclutter my life. And as long as that wick will last...a buck sixty sounds pretty good as a toss-in when I'm ordering other things. :)

Just me.

Are you 1 for 5 yet? :)

$1.60 is pretty insignificant considering one will last 2 or 3 months. I wouldn't buy one now since I probably already have a lifetime supply of mesh and they're not that much trouble to make, but for someone that's never tried them and wanted to check out mesh wicks on a small learning curve.....

Of course, wrapping the coil and working out the hot spots is harder than making the wick.

My thinking too. Simple, easy, no fuss. $1.60 and I don't have to have a sheet of mesh laying around.

OK, I think I'm getting a little better with the RBA's. As usual, I'm behind the curve on these things. So much so I started an "RBA's for Dummies" thread on another forum. The General even came and visited me there (Never be the Big Thread, but up to 14 pages).
Learning alot as I go along. Still asking questions though. I've recently purchased three REOMizer 2.0 (bottomfeed RBA) and I'm liking them so much there might be a fairly new SS bottomfeed Hornet on the classies soon! Hopefully to help finance my next VV Grand! :vapor: Anyways, has anyone here tried 'microcoiling' yet ? I'm sure someone has, I find it to work really well despite 2.6 ohm of resistance. I think the extra wraps helps flavor/ vapor production, but again I'm probably behind the curve on this one too

What are some signs that a wick is dying and needs to be replaced?

I have been vaping HA in a Zap with a ceramic wick. This is definitely the best vape I have ever experienced. My lord, the flavor. Absolutely mouth watering. I recoiled it with 28 gauge kanthal, and it is reading 1.4 ohms. I am anxiously waiting for DF to steep befor putting it in a genny.
