Note to self, get some Noalox ASAP!

Poor beckyblue, you've got some rotten luck with PVs. I might be putting some extra ware and tare on my threads, but I remove atty devices from my PV every time I leave them out of sight and mind. After one leaky cartotank incident I just can't risk it. If I built the mod myself that would be different since I would know how to fix it. Sorry nice lady, good luck getting your stuff all fixed!

I hate putting naolox on battery connections. But if Rob (and beckyblue) say it is needed I guess I will

To my knowledge, Noalox is only meant to keep aluminum parts from oxidizing. It doesn't belong on battery connections, only exposed aluminum billet. Noalox isn't inherently conductive and pretty messy. Unless your battery connector is aluminum, don't put it there. If you want to increase conductivity of your connectors, use NoOxId conductive grease. You will be thankful if you do. Actually NoOxId can replace Noalox as it will prevent all oxidization too, the difference being Noalox contains zinc powder to keep it from becoming an insulator. NoOxId has no metals but is completely conductive on its own.

Thanks, guys! Hm...maybe try out the vodka on one and rice on the other? The thing is, I've managed to break THREE Vamos now:facepalm::facepalm:. Why do I tell on myself on this forum all the time:p? I even have to send my REO back to Rob for the REO fix-all spa that I've read about (due to criminal negligence of upkeep...NOALOX, people!). Robin is not queen spaz 'round these parts, I'm afraid:oops:.

Don't use vodka. That won't dry quick enough and can cause oxidization or condensation buildup on the PCB. Use 90% rubbing alcohol and submerge the Vamo in it (without the battery). You can swish it around and pour fresh alcohol through it to get any juice out. Once you're done with the soak, let it air dry for a full 24 hours. It will likely dry quicker than that but you can't take any chances. You don't want to do this to your eGo as the battery is not removable. Rice doesn't work either, BTW.

12 days into the protank and I'm getting a slight burnt hit finally. Guess I'll take a wick out. Or maybe it's the coffee I'm drinking :what:

Using Dragon's Fire, I had to pull mine in about a week I think. It's been going great guns since then..

After using silica this weekend for the first time, i don't think I'll use cotton for anything tbh...

Interesting. I've been using silica only so far. I'm going to try cotton once. If that doesn't work out I'll try SS. I'm not at all afraid of silica like so many people but I'm a big fan of "you don't know until you try". <-excluding things that put you in jail or kill you, of course:)

Only caution wit cotton is you can't dry burn it.

Anybody remember that Fasttech DiD clone we were talking about, oh I dunno, close to 2 months ago, the $8 one? I ordered one way back then, it finally hit town last night, should get it today. Good thing I wasn't in any hurry. :)

Wow man that was a good while ago! Is that how fasttech works? I'll make sure never to order from them then.

Well, to be fair, USPS lost the first one, and they sent me another (after it had been missing for about 2 weeks) free of charge. So this is the second one. Not every vendor would have done that, so I'm happy.

You're right. I think many of the vendors state in their terms they are not responsible for USPS.
