I've gotta say, though. Some juices just belong in certain setups. I think the Ody (and similar silica fed devices) are fantastic with tobacco vapes. The genny's do better for me with the fruity stuff. It's hit and miss really, but my point is, there are some juices which don't work in a genny and taste great in an Ody. The reverse is also true. Options are the best thing to have. You'll pick up that genny after not using it for a while and fall in love all over again. I have three different devices in front of me usually.

True, it's more about the lack of hassle with the silica atties compared to the genesis ones. I saw a rad mesh setup for the Kayfun yesterday, going to try that, maybe I can get the best of both worlds. :)

7x7 cable is the easiest to find and is proving to wick better than the 7x19. I use 7x7. Totally sufficient. I bought the sleeving from Kidney Puncher. It's expensive, but I just bought a foot of each size to test them. The 116 was too narrow to fit the 3/32 cable but works nicely on thinner rolled mesh wicks. The 118 is good on 3/32 cable. I haven't tried it on 1/8 cable because I don't use any but I suspect it would fit fine if not snugly. The ends fray after cutting it so I recommend wetting the sleeving first, then cutting. Each wick uses less than a cm of sleeving, so a foot should last a while. Omega sells braided 1/8 silica and braided 1/8 ceramic sleeving. About half the cost of vape suppliers.

I had a knucklehead DT a while back. Wasn't my thing. If I remember correctly, I may have sent it off to MrPicC. I'm just careful not to tilt it too much for too long. It's not as sensitive as I made it out to be. It does wick very fast, tho.

I tried ordering from Kidney Puncher, bur for some reason they site says my address for my CC doesn't match my billing address. Works fine at other sites. (and the don't ship to Thailand, so my shipping address is in the states.)

I'll try that Omega site. Thanks, XfooYen.

EDIT: saved a couple hundred baht, thanks.

Word has it that omega frowns on selling to people not using their product for construction/electrical purposes. There's a co-op in the planning stage for Nextel sleeving which should end up being cheaper. They just need a host or a sponsor. Check out their supplier link in the op.

I would love to sit down and read this entire thread, maybe I should just read all of XfooYen's ECF posts instead.:)

I couldn't find Noalox at my HomeDepot, it should have been there but I was in a hurry. Thanks to this thread, I just ordered a tiny tube of noOXid off Ebay instead. It's up to $4 shipped now, but should be worth it.

I realize you guys are into the perfect wick search right now, maybe I can participate in that odyssey someday as well. I'm still not sure what will wick 100% VG best, my personal experience is limited. I've only tried silica and hemp, SS mesh will happen by this weekend.

I'm making plans to build my next mod using copper pipe. It won't be fully mechanical, I haven't figured out how to make a mech switch and install it near the top. I don't like the idea of a pinky switch, or a bottom switch. I'm planning on using a Kick clone with it, so it wouldn't be truly mechanical anyways. It's all talk at this point, I'll post a pick when I get it finished.

NoOxId is a superior product in every way as it can protect and improve all electrical contacts as well as prevent oxidization on all metals. You can use it on stereo wires, AC plugs, Ethernet cable connections, light bulb bases, and everything which demands clean current.

A mechanical top-switch can be achieved but it's a PITA to do. Basically, your 510 positive post must be isolated from the battery's positive terminal. The button acts as a bridge to connect the battery top and the pin. The Dingo and the Roller do this. Sigelei just put out a new telescoping mod (called the #20) which copies, rather poorly, the Roller's top button design. If you check out the thread called "Sigelei Mechanical Mods", there's a lot of discussion on improving the mechanism. One of the guys is modding it with pics. Check it out HERE. It will give you an idea on how to do it. I received a #20 a few days ago and after realizing how much modding it needed to fit my specs, I sold it. Nice looking. Todd posted a video on it too.

XFoo is a wise man. ;)

Xfoo is into gear. He's our Geek Squad. :)

Thanks, guys. There's a saying about being smart or being wise: It is smart to know a tomato is a fruit. It is wise to know a tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I just ordered some through Omega and told them I was using it in a science project for school. Gave my work address on my email as proof that I am using it for educational reasons. Only thing is the shipping is four times the amount of the sleeving!!! DHL is $45 the sleeving is $11.25. Trying to work around to have them send it priority international mail instead, since they had to send email to approve of the DHL payment. Haven't got a reply yet for that.

Ouch! The elusive perfect vape is a quest for the holy grail, littering the fields with the corpses of dead wallets!

I received my AGA+ today. Should I attempt a SS mesh U wick first, or make a straight one? I've watched a couple of U wick videos, it seems easy enough.

Lol, definitely do a straight wick first. :)

Sir! Yes Sir! :)

Straight wick worked out just fine, using almost all the SS mesh that came with the AGA+ in one wick. I thoroughly torched the wick 4 times. Using a 1.9ohm coil(+/- 0.1) @ 4/5(?) wrap with 32g Kanthal, currently vaping 100% VG Dragon's Fire right now. I'll try 30g when TEMCo ships it out in a few weeks. I'll wait to wrap a U wick until it gets here. ;)

And? What about the DF?

I was sent a plastic Bolt and a Smok Zmax to repair, they arrived today. Both had the connectors and wires popped clean off, the Bolt was in 5 pieces. I fixed the Bolt, easy-peezy. The Zmax is either going to be really easy or impossible. I think I found where the connector wires go, but it won't power up up right now so I might be wasting my time.

My dog decided I really needed to see something outside when I was building my flashlight mod a couple of weeks ago and knocked the soldering iron cord, sending the iron to the floor. I tried to stop it from landing on hi, only to seriously burn a few fingers. It continued to the floor where the tip was seriously bent and blunted. Long story short, it needs a new tip before I can attempt to fix the Zmax.

I threw in the towel and ordered a Stainless Steel Vamo today. My bank account is now empty, apart from $20 to buy Ramen noodles with. There will be more work and income of course, but I'm about ready to go to a Vape-aholic support group and admit that I have a problem.

Quick video I just did on my lunch break of my reomizer 2.0 vapor production.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECvR88OIi_A&feature=youtube_gdata_player

0.8 ohm coil with hemp wick. Vaping some 12 mg huntsman
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

Was I the first to watch that? Also, how do you like the hemp wick? I find it wicks very well, but dry hits can be a bit "earthy".

Update: It's not all that bad, I was bit dramatic. I won't have to eat Ramen, but there definitely won't be any beer, sodas, red meat, or going out to eat until I can get more discretionary funds.

The SS Vamo arrived already, one day (free) shipping ?!?!? I'm loving it, with an AGA+ on top it looks absolutely perfect. I had to submit a ticket to the vendor though, for what I should not say yet. I'm not going to name the vendor, the mistake probably won't happen again, and this isn't the place or time for that anyways.

Speaking of weird vendor problems, TEMCo put a hold on my payment to them for the maximum amount of time my bank would allow. The hold disappeared from my bank balance, then went through a few hours later. I have not received an email from them regarding anything other than order confirmation. You can't check on order status with TEMCo's website, you have to call during business hours and talk to a human. I won't be ordering from them directly again. Other than Kanthal ribbon, their Kanthal wire is all on Ebay ready to be shipped weeks ahead of TEMCo's own PITA processing method and shipping charges/delays. Since TEMCo is not a vaping vendor, I don't see any problem with informing you folks of my experience.
