Bronze there's been some grumbling in the rba subforum about the insulaters melting/burning in the Veritas clone after a months use , it has to be the Tobeco version , the Ehpro version hasn't been out long enough .

Probably Tobeco. They're the most prominent Veritas cloner, by far! And as we have learned, they don't have a stellar reputation. :)

I checked , one guy said he contacted Eccigity about it and they're carrying both versions , the timeline doesn't allow for it to be the Ehpro version .

I'm guessing I don't have much to worry about. I don't pour 50 watts into my Veritas and chain vape them like those boys do. LOL!

vape mail today! Unfortunately, the Ehpro Veritas has to go back. The one I got has the top cap utterly fused to the deck base. It is impossible to spin (as you would to adjust airflow) or to lift it off. I put it on my MVP (used for builds and coil burns) to hold the deck, and pulled on the top - nothing! Not budging.

Is there some trick I am missing?

I even soaked it in hot soapy water thinking there might be some machine grease in there. Didn't help.

I've emailed Vivid Smoke to see about getting a replacement.

Try putting it in the freezer for awhile after you get some water in it , it might force things apart when you take it out , it's probably stuck on an o-ring

probably the new oring is stuck due to sticktion I would do a hot water dip/boil to make the oring soft and pliable to remove the top.... freezing just might make the oring too hard to flex...

BK invented a new word (again)!

Love the top IG. I have those coming too. Where's the drip tip from? looks red, very nice.

LA vs. the Veritas - Round 2

Returned with food and beer consumed and a new mind to conquer. Used a small screwdriver wedged between the deck and the cap to leverage it up all around. Victory is mine! The cap is off.

BK had it nearly right (though I didn't see his post until after I fixed it). Half of the top o-ring had been pushed down. It was resting over the bottom o-ring making a double layered seal on one side. Made for a tight seal of top cap to bottom deck.

It's apart and soaking for a good cleaning before I try my first build. Gonna go for a 28ga horizontal micro coil aiming for around 1 ohm.

Can't send it back now thanks to twice slipping with the screwdriver for a couple of shallow scratches on the outside of the top cap. Meh. For $25 and something to play with, I can live with it.

    Thanks again, gents!
