Dripper question... I have an IgoW that I want to set up as dual coil. My goal would be to come in around 1.0ohm (I think). Do I understand correctly that I want to build two coils at 2.0ohm to get there? I probably won't have time to mess with it until the weekend...but just checking.

Never dual coiled. Have worked Factory Mechanic for 13 years before changing to Trucking....
It would seem to me both coils would need to be near exact- same wire, same diameter, same resistance. Otherwise, you would create a 'Master/ Slave' circuit, where one coil would draw nearly instantly while the other falls behind. In prolonged usage, the 'Slave' circuit would eventually catch up, but for vaping purposes it would pretty much leave one coil weak and nearly useless while the "Master' did all the work.... just my :2c:

(uh,oh..I think one of my two remaining brain cells just woke up. maybe I should go lay down now)

You definitely want both your coils to be exactly the same with a dual setup. You can tell as soon as you fire it if one of them is slacking..

Thanks guys...I will keep this in mind....I just would like to set it up to test flavors...and use a couple of my nets that I enjoy a little at a time, but too much to tank. I'm going to use silica for this project so I can dry burn. I've had the little IGO for awhile but sent it to my friend in MI and she had the guys bore out the air holes for me a little and I picked it back up when I was there visiting. Oh how I wish I was back in MI on vacation:D

While we are asking questions..

Why does my coil make a loud pop when I first hit it after it has set for a while? It only happens in my kayfun mini, but that's the one I use for stealth so I need it to not pop...(new coil 1.6ohm)

What wattage you running it at? too much juice sometimes causes a pop when it's fired.

Hmmm...my guess is the juice has had a chance to pool up on the coil. Remedy? Try altering the thickness of your wick. Try a little more. If that doesn't work, try a little less. Are you using Rayon?

I like how my Kayfuns sizzle when I hit the fire button. Music to my ears and I know it is set up perfectly. :)

But it never pops like Bridget explains.

The sizzling of a finely tuned KFL is almost soothing.. :)

I know your original question's been answered IG but I found it easier to make my duals out of a single piece of wire for the Igo , it's a PITA trying to put two coils on that top of the post design , at least for my thick fingers it is . :)

Running it on my microstick. Just switched it to Provari, it popped when I clicked to adjust voltage.

I don't mind the sizzle at all, I agree it's soothing! But an echoing pop is annoying and blows my stealth.

    Edit: yep, rayon.

I'm so glad you asked this question. Mine do it too, KFLs, Magma's, Veritas. I thought the juice was just pooling on the coil from the long delay in using it. Rayon here too.

Um, I don't wanna.. Rayon is sooo much easier and a better vape for me.... I haven't touched cotton since Calve sent me a bag of rayon!

Edit: But I might if I can't adjust the rayon to make it stop!

You're missing my point. If you try cotton and it goes away and then comes back with the Rayon then it can be concluded it is the Rayon. Then it's just a decision as to whether you want to live with the pop or not. But at least you'll have causality and can put it to bed. Just one more experiment to try if you want.

The only thing I know of that is pretty certain to make a juice pop is the added water some contain... but I know there are other causes also.

PBusardo mentioned that he felt his builds popped more if he didn't get enough cotton into the coil... not sure if it matters myself, just thought I'd mention having heard another possible cause

I'm pretty sure it is an abundance of juice pooling up. I would suspect it is due to too little cotton and the juice pools up in the voids but I can't be sure. I didn't take wickolgy in college. :)
