I've been messing around with contact nickel coils. Had the most awful luck with then a month ago, and for some reason every single one I've built are working flawlessly.

Only reason why I'm working on that is cos im trying to get the size of the coils down for my dual coil RTAS like the Aqua or fogger

I have the 28g non twisted contacts down, this is really my first venture with twisted spaced. This 32g is like thread!

Kiwi
, is this o ring good for the fill screw on a Kayfun 3.1 ES as well? I have lost mine since yesterday. I changed juice yesterday afternoon. That trash was picked up by the garbage collection late yesterday afternoon. Just in case it was when I refilled last night, I checked all of the trash contents just now. No sign of it. For all I know one of my pets might have consumed it. That is a tiny little o ring. I wish these people who make this stuff would please post the sizes on spare parts. I did order a Kayfun 3.1 ES spare parts kit from FT. But it does not have o rings. I replaced all the o rings, but that fill screw one,on the top of the deck. I would have changed it too, but I didn't have one that size. The o ring must have stuck to my paper towel, and I just didn't notice it, and threw it away. If this is the same o ring as the one you listed, I am going to buy several of them for spares.

Imma little late, but if you're looking for orings for fill screws, or even for extending 510 pins, the 1mm cross section x 2mm inner diameter is perfect. Theoringstore has it under bunaN70

Yup! It'll fit pretty much every fill screw I can think of tbh

Oh you made my day! Thank you sir!!!

KK, if you click on Kiwi's Blog link, you will find an entry for Kayfun replacement screw and o-rings. It lists all the sizes and sources of the replacement rings and screws. That's why I never took the time to memorize them. I just chase down Kiwi's blog and look it up if I ever need it. I'm lazy. Kiwi is not. :)

Dang it. I already made the order before I saw this thing about his blog. Well, I will know next time. Thanks for the heads up on that. I could have stocked up all at once...oh well...

Well, like I say, I have owned my original SM KFL since September, 2013 and I have not yet needed to replace anything on it. But it is possible I could pull a KK and send a piece in the trash can or down the drain. <knocking on wood> :)

I am so happy you got rid of the "funk". That is really strange. I wonder what that was? I guess we will never know. You should complain to the vendor. Maybe they will have a talk with the manufacturer, and get that straightened out.

Well the dual coils on the Aqua 2 have been a challenge for me. I am having to wick it differently, and nothing I've done so far has worked well. I can chain vape at 7.9 watts, with a 1.2 ohm coil. Anything above that, and I get dry hits. I like the Aqua2, but it is a lot of trouble for me. You have to be precise, or it just doesn't work out well. I had both coils doing the same, then one changed a little. Took wicks out, played with the coil, and got them firing at same time again. The screw had also come slightly loose. It was tight, but not too tight when I built it initially. The dual coil set up is not doing much for me at this point. 3.2 volts is what it is showing for 8.2 watts. If I want to chain vape, I have to go back to 7.9 watts. That is not a satisfying vape. If I don't get the wicking right soon, I think I will just go back to a single coil, and lower the ohms.

Keep at it. What gauge wire are you using for the coils? and how are you trimming the wicks?

I've been vaping on the Aqua since this morning with dual 0.8 running at 20W. 4V.

60/40 PG/VG juice.

Yes, you better knock on wood. Pride cometh before a fall....or something to that effect. You have to admit, that o ring is tiny. Let's just say my eyesight isn't what it used to be either.

Dusty, I am using 30 gauge on it, if I remember right. I am using a 3mm drill bit for the coils too. I did use cotton, then rayon, to see if it mattered. I try to have the shoulders as fat as possible. Then I keep narrowing the tails. I have tried it several ways, I feel like a barber...snip here, snip there. I think I might need to do a 2.5 mm coil, and then space them. I don't have machine screws for that, and I'd have to get the right size. My coils look fine. It is firing well, center out, both at the same time. It is just the blasted wick job that is getting me. I nailed it down in single coil. But the dual coil is not giving me the same results. It took me forever to get the dual coil going. That one loose wire when I was installing the coils almost ate my entire lunch. I can't see the wire when I am tightening it. The other 3 leads were fine. But that one slightly jiggly lead was not cooperating. It wasn't being cut off. I had the screw tight. But somehow it wasn't catching underneath. I thought dual coil would be easier once I got it installed. But now I am not so sure. I haven't fooled with it today. Oh, and I have a higher VG blend in the e juice. Not sure what it is percentage wise. So it will not wick real easily because of that probably. It is AVE Blend 4.

Oh, I can relate Ms. KK. More than once I had to use a long pair of hemostats to reach down in my garbage disposal to retrieve atty bits. :D

If you're using thicker juices, you need to thin down the shoulders, or you'll create a choke point. I had rigged a very crude graphic a while ago to explain how I cut my wicks to LA when she got hers.. Maybe it will help you too.

I cut along the green lines and don't leave large shoulders because the Aqua's chamber is quite small and seals pretty well on the wicks the way I cut them.

Oh my goodness, I was way off of that. Thank you Dusty!!! You had the shoulders cut in much deeper than I do.

Something I picked up with the ErlPrinz. I look at the inside of the chamber and gauge how much rayon and the shape required for it. Should be something you can apply for future purchases as well.

Best of luck, and let us know how the next round of wicking goes. ;)

Those are some clean looking builds, Kiwi! How you diggin your erlk?

Haha it's the one tank im very conflicted about. The juice capacity is unrivaled. The tooless filling is awesome. Flavor is good. I've never had it leak.

But the airflow is too little for me. Reminds me of a kfl. Gimme a 2.5 or 3mm airflow and I think I wouldn't bother with any other single coil tanks
